Yay Helios is back, with some updates!

A few moles or lindens are hanging out in it, I would share screenshots but am unsure if they want to keep it secret.  I don't see Anubis at the moment though, perhaps he has been placed in a reeducation camp 🤣

Here's the YouTube video about the updated casino. It looks like we can get prizes now by redeeming our credits. Yay!

Not exactly, although it could be used to change the perspective of a flat surface (and I got the idea when thinking about whether or not a mirror had to be aligned exactly to a mirror probe in order to work at all and it occurred to me that if that were the case then you may be able to fool the renderer into thinking the surfaces were aligned by aligning the vertex normals instead).

You can indeed use custom normals on the mesh to make a funhouse mirror; as long as the faces are aligned with the probe closely enough, they'll reflect. The mirror shader is not happy about it though since it "can't see" far beyond the planar mirror view, so you should stick to fairly low curvatures. You can also use a normal map on the mirror, but unlike actual geometry normal editing that causes grainy rendering. This mirror has concave normals and will happily gaze through the walls and floors of my apartment when the camera is further back.

Yes, as I've posted multiple times, I had to add "local lights" in my own build if I wasn't going to use "Midday" or certain other settings. It fixed the issue nicely without any reflection probes.

I was messing around with some made for PBR environments on my parcel.  I loved one but it did leave my living room dark.  I tossed out one of those probes (yay, made it myself even!) and voila, the room is perfectly lit.

I'll have to try it! I have probes that I made for my cave pics with LoveX.

You can use one or more of your Profile Picks pages for pictures and descriptions of your alts.

Yeah Picks works. Shouldn't profiles really have a section that are a bit less awkward to add pictures/details to though? like a lot of people use Picks to give extra details and it works but the whole idea of Picks is supposed to be locations and people just kinda 'hack' it into doing something else.

Peeve: When you stand for 3 or 4 minutes in front of a display / vendor for a Weekend sale at a store, waiting patiently for it to rez so you can see what it is, before you realize that the reason nothing is rezzing is because they aren't participating in that sale this week.

Potential peeve that turned out ok.

I reserved a storage unit yesterday, but decided to wait until today to start moving stuff into it. I put a mediocre lock on it, expecting to put my sturdier lock on it after I put stuff in it. Today I started to put some things in it, but found my lock had been cut. 2 other people there said their units were recently broken into & they had stuff stolen.

The positive side is that I hadn't put anything into the storage unit and the guy in the office gave me a sturdier lock for free.

The building is weird though. It's 4 floors with halls that twist around inside. I actually got lost trying to find my way back out & felt like I might need to leave a trail of bread crumbs next time so I don't get lost again. Inside storage is cooler than outside storage, & this place is open late - which could be creepy. I don't plan to be there after dark. The area seems safe enough, but those twisting, maze-like hallways....🎈👻

What I provide:

1. An instructions notecard titled 'Instructions - Please Read':

In order to do something, touch the object.

2. An object with this script:

default{
    touch_start(integer Total){
        // Do something
        .
        .
        .
    }
}

What people think I provide:

 1. An invisible instructions notecard titled 'Please Ignore Me':

Nothing to see here. Move along.

2. An object with this script, preferrably to be rezzed in a no-script sandbox:

default{
    touch_start(integer Total){
        if(llDetectedKey(0)==llGetCreator()){
            // Do something
            .
            .
            .
        }else{
            // Do nothing 🖕🖕🖕
        }
    }
}

Peeve: Canada Day (which is today) comes so close to the 4th of July, that our modest little celebration gets completely drowned out under the marching bands and bunting of our next door neighbours.

Ok. I'm not really peeved about this, much, because Canada Day is a much more modest affair, and for most Canadians means not a lot more than a day off, and maybe evening fireworks.

But it was a good excuse to indirectly wish everyone a happy Canada Day.

Yay?

They could have made it even more modest where I am concerned. A day of parades, some honking then an afternoon of listening to a live band playing classic rock tunes from the park just across the way from me. My room faces that side of the area it was coming from. I'll look for that modest area you're talking about to get away from it next year!

I'm in the downtown and I have literally yet to see so much as a hand-held Canadian flag.

Lucky you!!!

So where does the maple syrup come in?  I heard Canadian Maple syrup will get you drunk and that all Canadians get drunk on it on Canada day..
