diamond Marchant
Oh! Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy diveyA kiddley divey too, wouldn't you-oo? "Mairzy Doats" (mares eat oats) is a pop song written in 1943 that amuses because what is said is not immediately understood. Similarly, sometimes we say seemingly benign things in this forum, but others may hear it as something different. I am not speaking about violating TOS or breaking rules. I am speaking of kindness. LDPW is expanding Bellisseria to our benefit and the new growth areas are dynamic. I suggest that we let them work in peace and without our commentary. (I just commented about these two regions and the grid hole around them in a post in the SSP thread.) I recently had it confirmed to me that both Edge and Cayman are owned by the same owner! The owner of Cayman and Edge was the original owner of a well-known early music/dance club in Da Boom sim called "The Edge", which left Da Boom at some point in time to go to its own private island sim region. Edge sim region, created after Cayman, is undoubtably named after her original Da Boom dance club. Edge, like Cayman is now rented out to tennants, who have confirmed to me that the two sims are still owned by the same person. The owner of Cayman/Edge was also the first person to use the term "Mainland" for SL's main landmass, a quote from her profile; " I called SL land Mainland because that is what we in Hawaii called the rest of America and so Linden Labs called their land mainland to distinguish it from private sims." Anyone remembers about this region? (This is on topic because it's about a location between Sansara and Bellisseria… 😄) Edited July 13, 2022 by 4lice Cerise
SarahKB7 Koskinen
@4lice CeriseThat's strange. I just did a Grid Survey search on Marianas Trench and it says no other region had shared those grid co-ordinates before 2019, yet the map was from 2015. http://www.gridsurvey.com/display.php?id=112883 Edited July 12, 2022 by SarahKB7 Koskinen

Persephone Emerald
Just to tease a bit more, Diamond Marchant's speculative map, with my additional speculations added: Note there is already a thin strip of protected water at Blofeld and Klebb. My current guess is that the water passage will connect to Satori along the coast at Blofled, Khan, Orlov, Carver and Stromburg. This would create sailable water from Jeogeot to the Blake Sea, but it would be a long, twisty route. I'm not sure it would all be protected water. There is ZERO advantage to Linden Lab in connecting Belli to Satori anywhere south of Stromberg and north of Rathais because 100% of the coastal parcels are privately owned. The 12m strip of protected water in Blofeld/Klebb is irrelevant because it connects to nothing (so getting there doesn't get you anywhere). The downside of connecting to these regions is that the connected coastal parcel regions would be granted a windfall profit and LL might reasonably be charged with favoritism or scandal. Also, it would be annoying to reside in a houseboat so close to mainland. Checkout the houseboats near Jeoget or Sansara for an example of how this has been done.. The issue of connecting Bellisseria to route 8D and connecting routes was addressed by extending 8D to Chiffre.

I'm not saying houseboats would be in a region adjacent to mainland. I'm saying Linden water would be adjacent to mainland. In all of the examples show below, there are multiple Linden Water regions adjacent to regions with private land. The beach at Chiffre is Linden Land and connects to a Linden Road, which is perfect. So far the Southern connection to Satori doesn't have a Linden beach or road connection, but we can hope for one in the future. I can hope for extensions through abandoned land for other existing roads too.

I forgot to say that the Moles have said that regions have to "produce revenue". Hence, we should NOT expect open-water regions to be created unless they are part of a geographic feature such as a lake. The attached photo is from SSPKermits Green and the blue rectangle on the right side is a 16 meter "waterway spacer", suggesting that this is the intended path of north/south travel. This is a generous width. Edited July 25, 2022 by diamond Marchant usual typos

Persephone Emerald
There are 20 new regions not showing on the map yet in the North- East corner of Bellisseria. SSP Lost at Sea - I Sea U - Nether Strait - Dead Mans Dive SSP Not Shore - Be Pacific - Vitamin Sea - No Octopation SSP No Rain - Stay Salty - Octopied - East Keys SSP Beach Face - Buoy Quay - See Wead - Kale SSP Waffle Cone - Indominable - Ten Tickles - Septipus Hank The North and East edges are sharply cut, as if there could be more regions added, though they could also be smoothed out later. p.s. They're showing on the Map now (5 AM SLT). Edited August 2, 2022 by Persephone Emerald to add new Map picture

SarahKB7 Koskinen
I was going to keep the new connection a secret until it showed up on the SL map, but apparently the cat is already out of the bag now.... I would like to announce that I have made my first ever sea crossing from the west central coast of Satori (at Stromberg) into Bellisseria (at SSPTiedown Inlet), using two new sea regions called SSPDeep Anchor and SSPSteady On, which now link the two continents water together. My crossing took place on Monday 15th August 2022 between 10:24 SLT (Stromberg) and 10:26 SLT (SSPTiedown Inlet), then I turned back through the new sea channel and arrived back in Stromberg at 10:28 SLT. I had witnesses, Lloyd Overland and Abnor Mole, both who saw me turn around after entering Bellisseria and then go back to Stromberg to make the trip a both-ways event.
