  1. I think it's our responsibility to act as you did in cases like this. It's part of showing empathy and taking steps to provide protection when needed. So thank you for stepping up.
  2. There are many avenues for people to find information about world religions and to discuss the topic. From what I've experienced in the SL forums it's not a very good avenue for such discussions.
  3. I hope the clarification leads to all threads in GD must relate to SL. I would fully embrace a ban on political and religious discussions as related to real world events as well. Perhaps a new section, Off-Topic, for non SL related discussions. But honestly, I don't see why LL would want to moderate discussions of topics that have no bearing on SL.
  4. I don't have an opinion on either, but I imagine that the market is going to change drastically with the introduction of animesh. So stay tuned for that development.
  5. I actually have this posted as a pick on my main. Few online experiences keep me logging in day after day, but SL does! Why? I can be me, truly me, without the constraints of RL. I can create anything I can imagine. I can make friends all over the world, go dancing, and listen to amazing musicians all while sitting in my office chair. I can chat with like minded people about the best places to shop and explore. And probably the best part of all, I get to help people. SL can be frustrating for those just learning the ropes. I really enjoy helping them love SL as much as I do.
  6. I simply reply, "No thank you." to such contacts. If the person continues to contact me, I block the person.
  7. I'm not biased at all. I have nothing to gain from promoting CTS. But it has revolutionized how I use my inventory and feel it would be selfish of me not to share what a great tool it is.
  8. Just be sure you don't click anywhere close to it when closing... now that you know you can you'll be aware so doubt it will happen again.
  9. okay I used the right click to close and it closed... then I created a box for 0 and bought it and the box opens .. try that
  10. Just to be sure we're talking about same thing. Here's mine. The arrow is pointing at the box that opens the menu .. the ones to left are conversations. Is this what you're referring to?
  11. How long has it been gone? I notice mine poofs once I clear all messages and then reappears when I get a new notice/message.
  12. I will apologize for posting in this thread at all as I have blocked Mr. Deakins and have only read his comments that have been copied into someone else's comment except for the initial post which I unblocked long enough so I could read the OP. I was just flabbergasted that he would bring this topic up so soon after having the last one blow up so badly that it got to the point that it was locked by a Linden.
  13. I tend to turn to the many hat hairs I have from Truth. Those hairs are modify so after making a copy of the hair I either detach that hat (not as likely but sometimes) or simply set the transparency for the hat to 100 and then put on the separate hat and adjust so it works with the Truth hair. Then I put the modified Truth hair in the hat folder. So when I want to wear that hat I have the hair ready to go.
  14. If that's what he really wanted to do he could have quoted any number of threads other than an argument about copy vs no copy.
  15. Oh I see what happened. ***** got the last word in that thread that was closed. I guess he wants his turn to get the last word.
  16. Isn't there some kind of taboo about resurrecting a closed thread topic? I mean he can say he's not doing that and that he's quoting from the old forums, but it's still the same topic as the one that got closed. Isn't it?
  17. /me wonders how long it will be before Jagix Linden has to lock this thread too. Seems that's what happened the last time this subject was brought up.
  18. I tried all kinds of inventory management ideas, but until I started using the CTS Wardrobe nothing really worked for me. I was constantly looking for things and not being able to find them no matter how well organized my inventory was. I had lots and lots of sub folders very much like what many have shown already, but somehow I still found that I didn't really know what I had in my inventory. Getting the CTS and having everything in a visual inventory with amazing sorting features is what finally made my inventory work for me. It's work but I find it's worth every bit of work I put into it.
  19. I recovered my main account, a very old account from 2003, many years ago. I never deleted the account, but it had gone dormant long enough that the account was closed by Linden Lab. The Lab doesn't close accounts for inactivity now. That practice stopped years ago. In my case, when I reactivated that account and paid the $10, all my inventory was lost. Did I care? No! What I wanted was my name and rez date. I'm actually really happy that I lost all that inventory. It was like a fresh start. And this time I vowed that her inventory would stay lean and mean, and it has. By the way, the Linden I spoke with directly to get my account back was very clear that the inventory was gone and did I want to pay the fee to recover the account anyway. I remember getting off the phone and dancing around my room because I got Debi back!
  20. There are some die hard lovers of flexi but they are few and far between, so not your best choice unless you enjoy making the product for yourself and then would also put it for sale. Just don't expect a lot of sales. As for appliers or system layers to use once Bakes on Mesh is fully released, you will need to use 1024x1024 textures rather than the 512s we used to use back in the day. Applier clothing is hit and miss for sales. By far, mesh clothes are the most popular option for clothing. Appliers do well for stockings, tattoos, and lingerie (though many now prefer mesh lingerie rather than applier). Applier clothing that works well layering under mesh is another option that can have decent sales. So think of tank tops to layer under a mesh jacket or leggings to layer under a mesh sweater that's just too tight to work with any mesh pants. Keep in mind that once BoM goes live you won't need to make an applier as system layers will work very well with mesh bodies.
  21. In the actual Maitreya hud you can set animations off or running per each hand. Is it possible you have done that in the Maitreya HUD without realizing it? Go into the hud and hit the button to stop animations. Then using the separate buttons for the still poses go through those for the left hand and see if the hand changes position. If you have activated one of those still poses for the left hand then it will not animation while using an AO. It will override any AO and keep the hand still. So you need to be sure if the hand does change position while moving it that you then hit that stop animations button again so that the AO can cycle the animations for the hands. Also, may I suggest that you join the Maitreya Lara Friends group in-world. It really is the best place to find help with anything Maitreya related.
