  1. I guess I've never really considered the continent with Linden Homes to be real mainland. You can't buy it, you can't sell it. Seems like when upgrading to new homes it would be logical to get rid of the old neighborhood. But I'll just wait to see what they do. I really dislike all the abandoned land we already have on the mainland, and the idea of having thousands of 512 Linden homes setting vacant just to accommodate a few ... what did Chic call them? Rip Van Winkles? seems such a waste. To be clear I'm not talking about force moving from the mainland. I'm suggesting removing the continent where the current 512 Linden homes are located. I speculate too much perhaps.
  2. I don't see the need to add a lot of "basically abandoned mainland" to the grid. Once the new Linden homes become available I'm guessing that the vast .. huge .. majority of the people are going to want to move to the new much improved homes. So what is to gain by leaving a lot of abandoned land on the grid?
  3. Dangit!! and I've been so good in remembering to say region .. but dangit you got me excited and I forgot!!
  4. I seriously think you are over emphasizing just how many of those are out there in Linden homes. I do see a lot of them in mainland but not so much in Linden homes. However, I think most of those with mainland parcels are those who bought the one time fee tier offerings way back from beta. Those won't be impacted at all.
  5. And there are many times when I don't log Blush in every week as I'm not working on a project or need to provide customer service. She never missed a stipend either.
  6. When I had 5 premiums, I only logged in the bonus three (never used them) once or twice a year just to cash out so I could pay for the next year. I always got the stipend.
  7. But they aren't using it. Why would they want to keep a 512 with an old, not so attractive house on it? Surely they will want one of the new 1024s with the new homes on the much more attractive continent. They will still have their premium account. They will still be getting their weekly stipend.
  8. There are 5 green dots in SSP currently. I seem to remember Ebbe saying something about partial releases .. or wording suggesting that as I don't remember his exact words. But with what Ebbe said and Patch's trick or trick comment ... gosh .. I know maybe I'm just expecting too much .. but dangit .... maybe a few sims open for Halloween just so we can see what's going on...... Please!!!!
  9. I'm a fan of the live music scene in SL, but I base where I go on the performer and not the club. I have a list of my favorite performers and I follow their schedule. This way I know I'm going to like the music and I know there's a pretty good group of people who follow that performer as well. In time you get to know each other in the group.
  10. I get what you are saying, but I don't understand why LL would hold up progress for those who are no longer active in SL. Bulldoze the land and when or if the person comes back they are welcome to get a new Linden home in the newly developed area. Seems pretty simple to me.
  11. I see the lab acting like the Fed (USA) does to curb inflation by adjusting interest rates. It's still capitalism at work and supply and demand is a huge part of that, but there are things that the Fed (LL) can do to impact the economy (land pricing).
  12. This is why I hope they will evacuate the current Linden Homes continents and delete them once the new Linden Home regions are introduced.
  13. I seriously doubt all that extra work you went through had anything to do with you finally being able to log in.
  14. If it's abandoned land you're after, you simply submit a ticket requesting the land. So find the abandoned parcel of land you're interesting in and create a slurl for it to include in the ticket information. If you only want a portion of the parcel be sure to include that information as well. Typically a Linden will set that parcel for sale to you for 1L a sqm. I say typically because if the land you're interested in is premium land, like double prim land, then it's not likely they will sell that to you.
  15. Oh, you can if you're careful about land impact. Seriously, you have no idea how hard it used to be to furnish a home. But in these days of mesh and increased prim allotments .. you are living in the best of times for furnishing a home. Be happy!
  16. I have both an in-world store, though many times I've considered closing it, and a marketplace store. Everything I sell is in the Marketplace store but my in-world location only contains my newer releases and best sellers. As for my personal shopping method, MP or in-world. I actually prefer shopping in-world. I rarely buy from the MP unless I'm looking for specific gacha items. I will on occasion use the MP as a tool for window shopping, but once I find something in the MP I will go to the in-world shop to purchase. Now you may well wonder if that's my personal behavior why in the world would I consider closing my in-world shop. Well, in a nutshell, it's because 90% of my sales come from the MP. So I from time to time question whether spending money to have an in-world location is worth it, especially during those times when I wish I had more prims for my SL home.
  17. If you change the filters you can pretty much see EVERYTHING I kept wondering why I never saw the Maitreya body listed in area search when I was at events when I knew at least 50% of the women there were in the body. You have to change the filters to allow attachments and temporary to show up and then the body will be visible in the list.
  18. Horizons are all 1024. You can buy adjoining lots and put them both in the same group and then use as one parcel but no you cannot join parcels.
  19. Horizon's has pre-built homes that you can rez from the mailbox but they are optional Bay City has no pre-built homes. Nautilus City has no pre-built homes, but I do believe the original style homes are still available for free at one of the Mole built features. Here is the slurl to where those textures, buildings, and objects can be found all free of charge. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Nautilus - Shalim/229/111/25 No pre-builts in the four regions to the east of Bay City either. None of these lands hold Linden Homes. They are all regular mainland with the exception that they are double prim and no terraforming is allowed. There are some, very few, double prim lands that have terraforming available but they are in the adult lands in Zindra along the west coast. They are extremely ... EXTREMELY expensive if you can find any available.
  20. Add Skinnery and Deetalez to you list to check. Both have appliers and system skins as well.
  21. I don't save Blush or Debi's stipends, but when I had the extra 3 I only logged them in once or twice a year to send them a few additional lindens and then to cash out so the funds were in the account on renewal day. It is so inexpensive if you do it this way.
  22. I faced this battle some time ago. I wanted more prims but didn't want to jump to the next level in tier. So I just made another premium account. I got the extra land and prims I wanted but didn't have to pay that huge jump in tier. That was many years ago. At one time I had five premiums. Now I only have two premiums but all the land I own is double prim land. Gotta say I love my prims!!!!
  23. One thing to consider when buying any mainland is how much of an investment are you willing to make. It's expensive but IMO totally worth the extra cost to buy double prim land. It's very pricey, but if you look long and hard and have patience you can sometimes find double prim land .. well lets not say a inexpensively .. but for less than most other double prim lands. The good thing about that is when or if you decide to sell the land you will almost assuredly get back your investment and quite possibly, if you were really patient and diligent in the search and found a good deal, make a profit on that land. So, if making that kind of investment is something you'd like to look into you can find double prim lands in the Horizons area, Bay City, Nautilus City, and the four regions just to the east of Bay City.
  24. What are you agreeing with? My post was all about why I keep logging in. I don't think there's anything stale about SL. So you have me very confused.
