Why is the Height scale so confusing and messy?
Whirly Fizzle replied to GypsiesSoul's topic in General Discussion Forum
The camera presets feature from the LL viewer will be in the next Firestorm release. The release will be "soon" - just a few lingering EEP bugs to get fixed then it's ready. -

Why is the Height scale so confusing and messy?
Whirly Fizzle replied to GypsiesSoul's topic in General Discussion Forum
That's already an option on some TPVs. That's actually default behaviour on the LL viewer and the constant camera bumping is annoying as hell. On Firestorm: Preferences -> Move & View -> View -> Allow the camera to move without constraints through prims. Disabling this setting & relogging will give the default LL viewer behaviour of your camera being pushed in from walls/ceilings etc. -
Not necessarily. Can be an issue with the viewer not including the correct fallback fonts or an OS update decides to move the font store location (looking at you Windows 10) so there needs to be a viewer code change to point to the new path, or the user just doesn't have any fonts installed that support the special characters. Mac systems are especially problematic with unicode character support in SL.

OP filed a JIRA: BUG-228968 - Secondlife Avatar height scale is disjointed I left a comment explaining the mess of avatar height measurement. -
Press Windows Logo key + R, to open Run dialog box. Type mmsys.cpl and click on OK. Under Playback tab, double click on the sound device that you are using (your headphones) Click on Enhancements tab. If the checkbox for Loudness Equalization is ticked, untick it. Click on OK. Does that fix it?

Premium Plus - Slip up of what's to come??
Whirly Fizzle replied to ItHadToComeToThis's topic in General Discussion Forum
No one knows what LL will do yet. My list is just what is now possible with the latest premium enhancements viewer code. Any of this could be changed. -
Premium Plus - Slip up of what's to come??
Whirly Fizzle replied to ItHadToComeToThis's topic in General Discussion Forum
There's nothing to suggest basic or premium will be paying any more then now for group creation/asset uploads etc. It's possible standard premium will get some things cheaper then basic & premium plus even cheaper. -

Premium Plus - Slip up of what's to come??
Whirly Fizzle replied to ItHadToComeToThis's topic in General Discussion Forum
The viewer code changes to support Premium Plooos give lots of good hints about what might be coming. Ability to raise attachment limit Ability to wear more than 2 Animesh attachments More group slots More profile pick slots Ability to have different group creation fees, depending on account type (Basic, Premium, Premium Plus) Ability to have different asset upload fees (Texture, Animation and Sound), depending on account type - Fee is based on your subscription level. Higher levels are charged lower fees. Ability to have different upload fees for different asset types- 41 replies

Starter avatar Animations and Firestorm AO
Whirly Fizzle replied to xSkadi's topic in General Second Life Tech Discussion
I was chatting with the FS AO developer about this thread & she said the FS AO is supposed to replace the default animations. So she's poking at this to see why it isn't working. -
Starter avatar Animations and Firestorm AO
Whirly Fizzle replied to xSkadi's topic in General Second Life Tech Discussion
So I guess the tl/dr is that the Female_Sit animation that comes in the starter AO is only priority 3. Because the default sit animation is priority 4, it overrides the starter AO sit & you get some odd effects when both animations are playing together. The only reason the sit animation works when using the actual starter AO is because the starter AO is scripted to REPLACE the default sit with Female_Sit. -
Starter avatar Animations and Firestorm AO
Whirly Fizzle replied to xSkadi's topic in General Second Life Tech Discussion
I can reproduce this & can see why it's happening. Developer -> Avatar -> Show animation info, will show which animations are playing on your avatar & the number at the end is the animation priority. If you are using no AO & sit on a default cube, you can see the default sit animation is played, which has priority 4 (sit_female - 4) Then while still sitting, play the Female_Sit animation (that came in the Bitsy AO) from inventory. Notice Female_Sit is only priority 3. Both sit animations are playing & they don't play nicely together & you'll see a semi-broken sit animation that's a mix of both sit animations . Sitting while using the Bitsy Female_Sit animation in the FS AO shows both the default P4 sit & the Bitsy P3 sit playing at the same time & the animation looks like the same as above (with the head down when it shouldn't be etc) but the legs are also spread. Sitting while wearing the scripted AO that came with Bitsy shows ONLY the P3 Female_Sit animation playing. This is because the AO is scripted to replace the default sit with the Female_Sit in Bitsy. -

@Lyssa Greymoon It's worth filing a LL bug JIRA. Can anyone else reproduce this? I haven't updated my Win 10 box yet. -

Sadly I'm pretty clueless about Linux. @Pipfrosch You sound pretty clued up about Linux. I recommend you apply to be a Firestorm beta tester: https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/beta_testing This will give you access to Firestorm viewer builds before they are released. It would be great to have you testing the beta builds, especially as you have a non-standard Linux distro. You could also roll your own: https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/fs_compiling_firestorm
