One of the terrifying aspects of political correctness, is that someone can be cancelled for something they said in the past, that was okay at that time, but later became unacceptable. Niel Golightly, an executive at Boeing and former Navy pilot, was cancelled over an article he wrote in 1987, thirty-three years ago, arguing that women should not serve in combat.

See http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Bot_policy. In particular, this portion of the policy: Using bots to purchase Mainland parcels is not allowed The use of bots, autonomous software, scripting (manual or automated), scripted agents, or any systems or software internal or external to the Second Life service that circumvent, automate and/or remove the human interaction required to purchase a Land parcel within Second Life on the Linden Lab owned Mainland is prohibited.

They sense the end of the world is near. Not the physical world, but the SL virtual world.

You definitely want a home in Bellisseria. Those are the new type of Linden homes. I prefer the houseboats.

Did you get a Linden home in Bellisseria?

Five minutes of dancing obligates you to slex with your partner. So set a timer. -
Actually, your life does end when you get older, like when you're over 130 years old, and usually much sooner than that.

Last names for everyone, like SL used to be, instead of this $39.99 nonsense to buy a last name.

It's out of date. The latest cite is from 2009. Top companies may have been willing to associate with SL a decade ago, but no more. Look at the top two posts in Lifestyles & Relationships: (1) Mistress looking for a submissive and (2) Aspiring cuck looking for a relationship. Do you think a top company like Apple, Nike, Disney or Amazon would want their brand associated with that?

I tried Avakin, and made a couple of avatars. It seems similar to Second Life, but it's confined to a tablet or phone. I went to a salon, got my hair done, and made my first friend. That leveled me up from zero to one. My main complaint is that phone screens are too small, and it's difficult to chat by typing on a virtual keyboard. Other than that, it's well done.

What Works Really Well in SL?

From the article, it appears that SL works well for people with miserable real lives, which includes people in rural areas, the disabled, outcasts and people living under authoritarian regimes. -
What Works Really Well in SL?
Randall Ahren replied to Randall Ahren's topic in General Discussion Forum
Those are some good suggestions, and yes I agree. The Lindens nailed the balance between a healthy interest in sex and a porn site. If the Lindens could make the slex better, SL would be bigger than Facebook. Another thing the Lindens got right was sunrises and sunsets over the sea. They are truly beautiful. Sunsets, romance and sex. No other platform does it better. -
I see a lot of complaints about SL, like search being borked, lag, not enough avatars can fit into a region, Zindra not being finished, group chat having issues, and etc. For a change of pace, what works really well in SL? Specifically, what did the Lindens get absolutely right?

They have social lives, just not in RL. -
Hi, welcome back. Your mesh cube is still on the SL Marketplace and has all five star reviews.

Not all poetry is beautiful. It is a remembrance it is a memorial it is a tribute to the things that tried to kill you but couldn’t. Not all scars are permanent, but the ink still runs red. - Michelle K., Not All Poetry is Beautiful.
