"Original mesh" or "100% original mesh" seems to help in advertisements. So "PBR enhanced" or "PBR enabled" will score too I guess. For now "100% PBR free" should sell better.

If they get much more tickets than they can deliver spots, that was very little use I guess. As soon as they have a reasonable amount of new homes of this type they will open tickets, because then it makes sense.

Since the last few Shop and Hop events my sales on the Marketplace dropped to zero during those events for more than a week. So I decided that one must howl with the wolves at times and I applied for the first time to become a participant in the next one. Today I started to build a bit for that event, just in case, hopefully I will get approval to join.

As @Ron Khondji pointed out already, it is a first semi public alpha. And I think that even the first phone versions for the broad public will still have (a lot) less functionality than the desktop versions. It took a lot of years to get the desktop viewers where they are now. Same will be the case with the phone versions I recon.

How Far Into Realism Do WE Truly Want To GO?
Sid Nagy replied to Bagnu's topic in General Discussion Forum
Look at the average avatar at the moment in SL. Too small heads, to thick behinds and upper legs, too small waist, to small hands, too long legs. Unwalkable shoes and boots, too tiny hands (even for a former president), clothing you don't want to be found in when in RL ..... I don't think that most people want more realism in SL. -
When one only has a hammer ............

So you think "We'll always have SL".....?

More than half of the lamps one buys in SL still produce awful lights with the simple standard light feature. So I have no high expectations that merchants and creators will implement it on a large scale either. Let's face it, how often does one check on de shadows in RL when not photographing at that moment? Never ever. Same will be in SL IMHO. Nice toys for the fiddlers among us and for the rest: On to the new shiny tomorrow.

PBR: Ignorance is Strength

Don't forget to let someone put a copy in the wailing wall in Jerusalem too. There are believers who think that will work as well. -
PBR: Ignorance is Strength

"No more, not again", that is my main feeling after all these years in SL. Bodies, heads and now lighting.... I want to live SL, not study all kind of stuff. -

I don't even want to know how many man hours LL had to cough up for this so far totally disappointing new improvement result. Most people want to enjoy an as simple as possible SL IMHO. What they get: Steep learning curves, that get steeper and steeper after each major improvement. -

LL. A new implementation. 'Nuff said. The "midday (legacy)" setting isn't invented for nothing I guess. -
I'm on the LL viewer, and everything works lika a charm at the moment (and during the last couple of days)

I had a few over the years too. One left SL in the end and with the other one: we grew apart. Peeve: I'm not social enough in SL to let grow new ones, I guess.- 23,386 replies

They do because they can. They simply accept that there will be a lot of more or less useless mainly vanity applications along the route. LL doesn't need hundreds of good alpha testers. If 5 - 10 of the people who apply are really usable for alpha testing, they are good for the project. They will concentrate on those 5 - 10. The rest they basically just let dabble around. "Thank you for your highly appreciated input. We have send it straight away to the right place in our organization". (The trash can.) And as a side effect they might get new PP sign ups ($$$$$$$$$) and free early advertisement by the vanity only and blogger applicants.

Getting names on the friends list and having real friends inworld are two different things IMHO. Yes, I have names on the friends list. Nice people too. But a real friend as in a friend? Nope, not one either. One can't force things. Neither in RL or in SL. A friendship grows over time or it doesn't. Most of the time not and acquaintance is the highest reached level.- 23,386 replies

Why is it so difficult for creators to put a demo in a folder?
Sid Nagy replied to Cristiano Midnight's topic in Fashion
Selling straight from a box can either give you the box or create a folder with the inventory of the box. It is in fact the simplest way to put up stuff for sale. But a lot of people prefer buying goods with automatic re-delivery as a feature. In world automatic re-delivery and giving out folders in the customers inventory are not possible at the same time, because vendors with re delivery options use drop boxes. On the marketplace it is possible to deliver and re-deliver unpacked folders. It works with a different system than an inworld drop box. One simply can't win them all. Different customers have different preferences and requests. -

The current youngsters grow up with their phones. We had photo's or it did not happen. They have on the phone or it did not happen. Laptops are for the use in those technically outdated schools. For the rest: phone, phone and a play station. I use my smartphone basically for 5 things: 1. as a phone. 2. to check the glucose levels in my blood 3. As navigator with google maps during my road trips 4. Agenda. 5. Camera.- 23,386 replies

Bing AI came up with this one for the fantasy theme: I would even go premium plus for one of those.

I don't use notifications by mail. I simply regularly check the threads that I'm interested in. Check your e-mail spam box. It might be very well possible that the notifications land there if you don't exclude Linden Lab mails. I had that when I started as a merchant and let me send a mail for every purchase.

Don't expect the big land barons to explain to you how to start competition. The pricing LL uses are all in your dashboard of your account on the secondlife.com website. If there is a discount for the really big boys and girls in the market (not talking about 2,4, or 10 sims here), they will not let you know. Just like with RL businesses.
