  1. So predictable. Sometimes it's fun being right. This isn't one of them.
  2. If they are using a "copybot" viewer, turning fly off isn't going to stop them from flying or camming up or teleporting wherever they please. The only way to reduce copybotting would be for LL to disallow 3rd party viewers, which would leave us with only the very limited LL viewer, piss more than half of the user base off and risk losing a sizable chunk of income. There is no way to completely eliminate copybotting in SL, even if LL were to disallow 3rd party viewers. Which is why they don't get involved in the legal proceedings of DMCA and why the DMCA process for SL is set up the way it is. It keeps LL out of the legal hot pot and away from the bottomless pit of neverending legal fees. Otherwise, SL would have disappeared into the ether long ago.
  3. If you use FS, just turn on double click teleports, then cam to where you want to go and double click the floor or ground. If I need to adjust my cam after tp I just hit the left and right arrows simultaneously to reset. Prefs > Move & View > Movement Single click to walk, double click to tp. \o/
  4. Prok has always been and always will be a victim blamer. I know it won't make any difference in Prok's mind and will likely lead to the usual wall of text because Harvard. At least there is hope for the rest of the world. https://orgs.law.harvard.edu/halt/how-to-avoid-victim-blaming/
  5. We are all just figments of our imaginations. And we all live on a yellow submarine.
  6. Google is your friend. 7. Fifty years later and the argument is still going on. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  8. I posted twice, not several times. Then you went off on me and accused me of things I haven't done. I haven't targeted you as you're trying to imply. I can't see Beth's posts. Other than to say the above, you'll get no further dispute from me.
  9. Probably because I've done neither. I was making a point that you apparently don't get. Now that you've made a personal attack on me, I'm dropping it. It's not worth being insulted over.
  10. The adjective ignorant describes someone who is lacking knowledge or understanding of a subject. If you are ignorant of a subject, you have little, if any, knowledge about it. Stupid is another adjective; it means lacking in mental capacity. An ignorant person can usually seek additional knowledge to become less ignorant. The point is one can be "cured", the other can not. Most of the people you speak of are willfully ignorant, not stupid. They're afraid to change because they know they will find out they have been wrong all along.
  11. That's not stupidity. It's ignorance. Ignorance, even willful ignorance, can be fixed. Stupid can't be fixed.
  12. I always created an archive and just moved inactive threads to the archive where they automatically became read only. New threads could be started with a link to the old in the OP. When the new thread died out, it could be merged with the old archived thread. There is no need to lock each thread. And yes the archive was structured the same as the active forum. It was a standard feature in the forum software for all the forums I set up and admined.
  13. Yeah I was editing my post while you were posting this. So there.
  14. The phrase is "getting off on the wrong foot", not "getting off on the right foot". It's when two people attempt to "reboot" a friendship/relationship that didn't start out well, by mutual agreement. You know, like, when "they got off on the wrong foot and decided to try to be friends first". Yeah, I went there. ☕
  15. You must not have been on very many forums then because it's one of the longest running forum etiquette rules in existence. Rather than retyping everything I have said uncountable times, on various forums over the decades, you can read this thread:
