SECOND LIFE NOW CHARGING TO POST EVENTS...
Selene Gregoire replied to Belle Kingmaker's topic in General Discussion Forum
I stopped using Events to find things to do more than 10 years ago because of all the crap I had to sift through so I'm not completely opposed to the 10Ls. It's the 50Ls for basics that chaps my @$$. I get they want more premium accounts and why. I get they would prefer premiums to pay monthly as well. What I don't get is punishing those of us who can't afford premium. Especially in an age where phones and internet are no longer luxuries but necessities. -

You sound just like those who blame rape victims for the rape happening. "Look what she was wearing/drinking/doing. She was clearly asking for it." "She went back to his place after flirting with him at a party, what did she expect?" LL has provided us with tools to deal with people like that. Mute, block/eject, ban. Use them and move on with your SL. Those kind of people aren't worth associating with. -
Not everyone plays gachas. I certainly don't. People who can't afford premium are being slowly forced out of SL. That says something really nasty about LL and its board of directors/CEO. It's not just the cost of doing business, it's flat out greed and reeks of elitism. Apparently, they aren't interested in retaining long term customers that have been in SL for 10 or more years as well as increasing revenue and retention. Repeat customers are what keeps businesses going. Seems LL has yet to really learn that.

All kinds. I've never been in any kind of sex group. Just clothing stores, builder's groups, vendor groups, a few medieval or Pandorian RPs. Nothing even remotely sexual. More like desperation than perseverance. 😆 (*waves* Howdy neighbor!)

You don't have to tp anywhere. You can be hanging out at your own home. Some guys join a group and go through the list IMing all the female names they see. Some don't even bother to look to see if you are online or not.

It's been like that ever since she made an announcement on the old SLU. I don't remember what the announcement was (it was well over a year ago) but it had something to do with updating the site... I think. She does post updates on VVO though. https://www.virtualverse.one/forums/threads/new-sl-regions-in-the-past-week.189/ Some days the site will eventually load, other days it takes so long I finally give up, so I've started peeking at the link above instead. ETA: Here's her most recent post: https://www.virtualverse.one/forums/threads/new-sl-regions-in-the-past-week.189/page-4#post-72027 -
What are some of your pet peeves?
Selene Gregoire replied to Ivy Mysterious's topic in General Discussion Forum
Sure, if you think you can handle living in a small town in western Oregon where most of the people [probably] voted for the dumpster fire in the White House. -

That means doesn't mean anything other than those creators are hung up on making that kind of clothing because it sells. It's a well known fact in advertising that "sex sells". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_in_advertising There are plenty of us who don't buy clothing that we wouldn't wear in public in real life. Apparel does not make the person nor does it make SL a sex game. -
You and your friends would never have survived on the original forums or even the early SciFi Channel forums. This place is tame compared to those. That's not an attack on you and your friends. It's just stating the truth. Ranks have nothing to do with how much knowledge one has concerning SL. Neither does post count. Case in point, I barely posted on the early SL forums and didn't post later iterations for many years. It wasn't until last year that I started posting with any regularity. See also:

Eisenhower left office popular with the public, but was initially viewed by many commentators as a "do-nothing" president. His reputation rose considerably after the release of his private papers in the 70s. In polls of historians and political scientists, he is generally ranked in the top quartile of presidents.

New sailboat doesn't work for me
Selene Gregoire replied to AnnHerrick's topic in General Discussion Forum
Sometimes that is what it takes. I'm glad you got it sorted. And as was said above, turn off your AO before sitting if you are using one. Turning it off after jumping on doesn't always work. Also check to see if there is an adjuster for the poses if turning off the AO doesn't fix the pose issue. Adjusters allow you to move your avatar so that the pose looks more natural. If you know anything about AVSitter, that knowledge should help you with adjusting. If not, there should be something in the manual about adjusting poses. Keyword there being should. Good luck and happy sailing! -

After having spent more than 5 years working on the Firestorm viewer support team with people who have SL issues, I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing. If you want the boat to work for you, you can either follow the troubleshooting guide or not. Your call. -

The OS isn't going to make that kind of a difference. More than likely it's your internet connection. There are a number of things that could be causing the issue so you need to do some troubleshooting. The Firestorm wiki has a lot of good troubleshooting on it. I would start here: https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/fs_vanishing_prims and follow the link(s) provided if that page doesn't solve the problem. Keep following links until you either solve it or not. You could also take a look at all the troubleshooting guides for more https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/firestorm_troubleshooting -
More than likely it was something she ate that didn't agree with her if it was just a once a day thing. I know you said you took her to the vet and she checked out ok and that's a good thing but I also know vets don't always give you the full low down when they can't find anything wrong so I'm giving you this link to arm yourself (and both furbabies!) for the future. https://www.petmd.com/dog/emergency/common-emergencies/e_dg_vomiting
