  1. Yup. It did. Mostly because I haven't seen any of my Choctaw friends in about 20 years, not because I have never heard the word. I just haven't heard it since I was a kid so likely I would never have thought of it.
  2. Never heard any of the Choctaw use the term gewgaw. Not in MS, LA or OK. But it does rhyme so, there you go. Btw, the original casino at Philadelphia had the best prime rib steak buffet I've ever eaten. And for under $10!
  3. It was helter skelter. But close enough.
  4. pioneer transport >> Sooner Schooner Native (American's) jewelry ---> seed bead topsy turvy >> ?
  5. You mean there are people out there that don't know what a Sooner is? pioneer transport >> ? *looks expectantly at Lindal*
  6. Friendship ship The Friendship of Salem in Derby Wharf, Salem Massachusetts. This three mast, square rigged sailing vessel is a replica of the original 1797 tall ship and is part of the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.
  7. I have a folder full on my pc that I would love to see added. You know what they say about wishing in one hand...
  8. Maybe forego the forums one or two nights a week? It's not going to kill you, you know.
  9. LL has only so many employees to assign to such projects. These things all take time to code, test, recode, retest, rinse and repeat until they've worked out the worst of the bugs only to release it on the grid and find more bugs. It takes time. Lots and lots of time. And they have to pay those employees for that time so they can only do what the budget allows for.
  10. I tried to find those friends for 14 years. I found one. She stopped logging in years ago*. With good reason. She got married in RL. SL hasn't been the same since, for me. *So did all the others who were "born" on that day that fell into our little noob group. A few just drifted away, others turned out to not be friend material. Our little group even went so far as to grab First Land in the same sim so we could all be neighbors. Some of our parcels were connected so we were next door neighbors.
  11. It was fine the way it was Luca. I understood you perfectly. It just made me think of one of my favorite Moody Blues passages is all.
  12. I'm sorry. I just can't resist... ~Moody Blues, On the Threshold of a Dream album, In the Beginning
  13. Barely made it through the first few posts. Now I'm laughing so hard I can't read the rest of the thread.
  14. Once or twice a year (usually a little more often) I do some sim hopping to check which LMs are still valid for the reason I saved them and just delete those that are no longer useful to me. Doesn't take all that long usually because I try to keep the number of LMs down to begin with and it gives the opportunity to discover new places to visit/hang out at. Of course, every now and then I land in someone's shiny new living room but I like seeing what others have done with their homes as well. No, I don't run around inside their homes poking around in closets, rummaging through drawers and peeking under the beds. I go outside and cam in.
  15. The only real problem is, the field is a bit narrow when you consider the number of people who log in on a regular basis. The concurrency is about 50k. When you think about it, that is rather a small group of people to try to find friends in. It gets even smaller when considering only those who RP. SL's concurrency is the same size as the town I grew up in.
  16. Been there done that. It all started way back in Active Worlds before SL ever existed. It doesn't happen anymore because I don't allow myself to become that deeply immersed. It can take over your RL if you aren't careful.
  17. Most of us prefer First Nations or the tribe name. There's an old joke among those who are actually First Nations. "Everybody is Cherokee." Because that is the one tribe most try to claim. We find that amusing most of the time but it really is quite offensive.
  18. Can you still haul @$$ on the Autobahn or did they finally tone that down a bit? ETA: Asking for a friend.
  19. Depending on which job I'll be taking, I'll be in training soon myself. Anywhere from one week to eight weeks. I'm likely to take the one week as I have worked there before and I really, really don't want to be on the phone all day again.
