  1. There's always Mouselook also. You can set it to show full User Interface in that, also. (Serious reply comment, not trying to be sarcastic here.) Just hold the ALT key when you want to use the mouse pointer.
  2. For the longest time I had an app on iOS that basically did everything except draw the picture. Anything and everything that you could do through text was available: Create and edit notecards, scripts, move inventory around, delete inventory, chat, IM, pay people L$, literally everything that can be done without actually interacting with the world. It even showed the world map and you could TP anywhere - it was as though you are just a virtual blind person. Unfortunately that app was never maintained past a few years and has since disappeared from the App Store. I am hopeful the LL version will eventually have all those features, though certainly not at the beginning.
  3. That's always a possibility. Though they've all be busting-butts for more than a year. I wouldn't be surprised if they take a six month break. They deserve it.
  4. Bad SLURL, What is the region name?
  5. Everyone will have a different experience due to the sheer amount of variety in every computer system, viewer choice, graphic settings and all the rest. Neck seams are a fact of Mesh in SL. There's not much we can do about them and we've all complained about them. So, just saying there's no point in continuing the debate. This is a thread about the Legacy mesh body, so saying something works with X-brand and Y-brand combination but not with X-brand and Legacy is kind of a moot point. Perhaps it would be better to create a "Neck Seam Suggested Solutions" thread in "Your Avatar" forum? Just a suggestion.
  6. Try resetting the controls then re-rez the house. Click and hold on the mailbox until it resets (I believe it's hold for two seconds - though I'd just hold it until it goes LOL). Then try re-rezzing the same house, then hit the controls inside to "register" yourself. Let us know if that does the trick or not. If you still get this message, then use the controls to set access to Everyone, then back to owner. Maybe even add someone to the list, then set access to List. (Even if only temporarily to "kick it".)
  7. I simply had to click it after you said that. Was good, glad I did. Enquirer-like or not, they are usually well-written, easy-to-read, short articles. The only caveat is that the subject matter is almost always three to six months late to the party.
  8. Then try the Dvorak keyboard and let us know how such a change feels. People go ballistically shrill when there is even the slightest change to something they're comfortable with. For example: Which version of MS Windows had the user interface you liked best? Because every version keeps changing. On the Mac it's an easy choice: it's the same UI they've always had. And by now efficiency in using it couldn't be any better, no learning curve of the new new, unfamiliar. Just saying.
  9. There are hundreds of rez zone all over Bellisseria (and the rest of the grid) and that includes parcels set to allow razzing. You just cannot easily see them unless you're on top of them. I use this HUD and am always amazed how many rezzing areas there are: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Sparx-Land-HUD/12128802
  10. Thank you! I cannot guess how long it would have taken me to figure that out. I must have junky hardware LOL The only option I have other than changing the resolution is "Desktop color depth:" and I get one choice:Highest (32-bit). It's all good, thank you for your expert help!
  11. It's Animesh, b ut it's using full animations that animate the avatar. And for the record: Stay out of LL water LOL
  12. I'll check the settings. I'm still learning all those extra ones. Though I do like what I'm seeing thus far (I'm not trying to do Photgrapher stuff with it, just to make the entire grid look as awesome as it can be!) Edit: All my settings are at default, Tone Mapping is on, set to "Custom" and all the defaults. Color Correction also is set to Linear and defaults. So manybe it is the nVidia driver thingie LOL I *hate* that control panel because it barely makes any sense to me. I'll fiddle with it, but either way, I'm loving what I'm seeing.
  13. You people are all really late to the party! LOL
  14. I did this, more or less, to confirm what I thought I was seeing and I'm right! LOL Same hardware, same drivers, same everything, including settings as best as I was able, here is a comparison. Some will like the "harsh" tones because that is what they are used to. But as a graphic designer in RL, I know know the "softer" tones are what we want because it give greater dynamic range. The small preview the forums gives cam make it difficult to tell the details in the hair and overemphasizes the softness on the right side, but it posts the picture instead of the URL which I would prefer people look at the full size to see the differences as they actually are. Though even at this size, the difference in the dress colors and hairband is clear. This is the main point, I think. Computer graphics are always so harsh. When we create video for television in RL, we always have to tone down the whites and blacks just to get dynamic range to pop better. And to be clear to all readers: I'm not debunking viewers or anything! LOL I'm just showing what I'm seeing and, for ME, I prefer the right side image to the left side.
  15. This is all really helpful, thank you. I'm actually getting striking performance in Black Dragon and I even like the UI a lot. One thing that have seen talked about over and over is its "photograph" abilities. Sure, there are a lot of functions and tools that equal, if not surpass the Firestorm Phototools, but it's not even really about that! I noticed this aspect specifically while shooting against a white background for my CTS Wardrobe and uploaded the images: The *look* of the image is so amazingly superior to every other viewer available. Every. Single. One. Including and especially Firestorm, and I don't mean resolution or graphic settings or any of that. Okay, maybe it's in the graphic setting, but what I'm referring to is the GAMUT levels. The whites are not over-white and blacks are not over-black. And the dynamic range is amazing. Picture-taking aside, the Second Life grid just plain looks better in Black Dragon. I've been using it exclusively since I first tested it last weekend. I'm thinking this will be my viewer of choice for the very reason that SL just looks so darned good in it. The image I posted just above this is done in Black Dragon. For kicks, I'm thinking to do a two-for to show Firestorm and Black Dragon side-by-side shots, unedited. Just so people can see what this viewer does for how great SL just plain looks.
  16. Granted. It decides to sleet. Baseball-sized iceballs fall on your head non-stop all weekend. I wish this thread would decide to saty alive or just die, it seems to be hanging on for dear life. Soon the necro-post haters will come crawling out of the woodwork.
  17. They tried this some time ago. I got to beta-test a streaming thing they did and it was a horrific experience. Imagine the full interface you have on a computer, but scaled down to 4 to 6 inches. And everything is touch-based, but designed for a mouse pointer. You get the idea. The mobile app Linden Lab is working one will allow you to chat, perhaps manage inventory, maybe edit a notecard or two, even pay people money, but not a whole lot more than this and certainly not all these things at first.
  18. The Slink is natural BOM (I presume that's the one you're using) - which is how I wish they all were, perhaps in the future. For Legacy body, you have to turn off all materials. I have it on my alt and I'm not in there right now - so this is from memory. I think you need to turn off all effects first, before turning on the BOM option, because doing it in reverse seems to affect the BOM option. Turn off all sheen or "shine" - turn off any sweat or wet/oil look. This needs to be actively done because the default is with an "oil sheen" I think. After going through the HUD settings and manually turning off all effects, then set the BOM last. Be sure to be in calWL - it's the best windlight for matching colors of attachments, etc., so it also is the best windlight for looking at neck-seam removal efforts. Part of the problem that no one can deal with also: Different wind lights *will* show the neck seam (even on your SLINK, albeit: barely) - this is because of the different creators (body versus head) - the only way to literally obliterate the neck seam is if both body and head creator are the same and it's a head-to-toe skin. I've seen (on very rare occasion, admittedly) where a body skin and head tattoo (for the head skin) can create a telltale seam as well. I've purchased a professionally-made skin Master PSD file so I could tweak it and touch it up the way I want. And I kept seeing that darned seam! No matter what I did, it was always there. Then I used a different viewer and voila! That seam is *gone!* This is what reminded me about how touchy that seam is with the slightest difference in graphic settings So, for me, the truest test for head/body neck seam (to see the true quality of the skin, actually) is to go into POSE mode, preferably in a sand box with little lag, set windlight to calWL and turn ALL graphic settings to *maximum* (Highest quality you can get) - frame rates may drop to -1 LOL BUT, you will see the truest quality of what you're looking at. Also remember that anything we do regarding eliminating the neck seam only works for us in our own viewers, other people may still see the neck seam depending on their own graphic settings.
  19. I risked this on my alt because now my curiosity is about to kill me. I'll report after I've vetted this thing. Hahahaha! In short: the AO is built into the hair and is apparently priority 6 - it overrides all other MOs (that's a good thing) - the stands appear to auto-advance every minute or two or three. It's still designed for people with baby-arm lengths and 9 foot tall avatars (you'll be buried halfway into the ground if you G-Sit) - other than that the stands are very conservative, nothing silly or whacky, the walk and run are realistic. The real question is; Will ever new Animesh hair cost L$1100? Sheesh.
  20. You are describing object collision, which is not at all support in SL. Everything is basically a non-tangible "ghost" - think of everything as being made of gasses, nothing is solid unless it is made to be physical - so what you are describing is if each attachment worn had its own physics (which would be great!) - but, alas, impossible in SL the way the software is developed.
  21. I am using Legacy in BOM mode and Genus head in BOM mode and get zero neck seam. The caveat in all of this, which is true for most onion-skinned bodies and heads "converted" to BOM, is the materials and other settings; shine or sheen or whatever. I'm sure you already know all this, so I will describe for others: The issue also is that head and body are made by different creators. The point being that for BOM, removing the neck seam entirely requires removing every possible setting that changes the tone of the head and body both; turn off all materials settings. BOM can have its own materials and using tattoos, etc, can also mimic materials. For BOM, the mesh head and body need to be as transparent as possible. There always will be a neck seam, it cannot be removed entirely, but if you can get it that it's entirely invisible in calWL unless you alt-cam to within clipping distance (the point where the camera goes into the mesh) and know where to look - it will be there, but only you can see it because you know where to look for it.
  22. I noted this a few weeks ago with map and outline of the area and have already officially announced that there will be new continents going in there to host the remaining four new themes. I have whispered into @Patch Linden's ear and silence is an implied "YES!!!," and thusly so, it is true, it is known.
  23. Flickr (and Twitter, and I think FaceBook) have changed their APIs - they broke SL direct-posts. So you can do as most others do: Save a snapshot to disk, then go to Flickr and click the Upload button.
  24. I imagine it would - they're white, so you can tint them. If you can get a good match to your skin it should work. I'm in that account now, so I'll dig them up and pass them to you (now that I'm thinking about it). Let me know if it works or not! LOL EDIT: Sent. I included a tintable lipstick for kicks also LOL
