    Seems to work fairly well for most games. Allows for free accounts to still exist while still providing some filtering from mass producing accounts that can do anything.

    Sometimes I think @Solar Legion has that laughing disorder. Everything is always so funny! But, they do say happy people live longer, so maybe Solar will outlive us all, having fun and agreeing with everyone all the time.

    How come every time this topic comes up, it's always all or nothing? Why never any nuance or tiers? Every other MMO out there with free accounts has various tiers with various abilities tied to them. For example, in some MMO's you can't send messages in zone chats (analog to group chat in SL) until you've spent some money. Great way to stop spambots. Why not do the same type of thing with SL? Most free accounts in SL have spent money, so locking certain abilities behind that gate wouldn't even affect most people.

    I picture a gladiator arena and a woman in a case up on a platform, and there's a release mechanism. With spikes. Lots of spikes.

    We work on stuff, or find ourselves saying "This would be more fun in [other game]." then going and doing that instead. SL combat just can't compete with Arma, driving can't compete with SnowRunner, functional builds can't compete with Space Engineers, etc.

    Can confirm that the answer is, as noted, being activity oriented. The few male friends I have in SL are guys I work on projects with. All my other male friends are guys I play other "real" games with or ride motorcycles with or whatever. SL would be awkward, boring, or worse with most of these guys. Sure it's a stereotype that women want gossip and men want to complete projects, but as much as people hate to admit it, most stereotypes are based on reality, even if only mostly true. Also, why is anyone surprised at the lack of male participation? Any time men participate in these threads, someone inevitably comes along with a gender studies degree and starts quoting biased stats about violence or something and eventually the thing just gets locked.

    Collaborative building in world like we can do in other games would be great. Games with voxels are starting to put SL to shame. Detachable floaters like other games and software have so I can use all my monitors.

    That's why I'm so confused. It says to use them, but "NOT" doesn't eliminate the spammy store I was trying to eliminate.

    How do you exclude words from search now that "NOT" doesn't work anymore? "x NOT z" still returns z.

    Peeve: That there's no easy way to report groups and that even if there were, certain groups are allowed even though their inverse wouldn't be tolerated at all.

    If it applied to the forums, many opportunities to say it would break the rules. So I'm certainly totally absolutely unreservedly not doing that at all. Wouldn't even think it. Even petty and childish, you could say! Reserved for the kind of person that enjoys getting a reaction from people. Good thing we don't have many of those types around here.

    Considering how old SL is and how much out of date info or misinformation exists, how many opportunities have you had in SL to say "I told you so"? Or do you find you hear that more than you get to say it? Or is it bad form or otherwise impolite in your mind?

    I'll use voice in a program like Discord because often I prefer it- keeps my hands free for whatever I might be doing, from building to driving to gaming. But SL voice is so terrible it might as well not exist at all, I try to never use it.
