    Actually, I will follow up by saying that this is definitely a big problem in SL- I'm pretty sure @Orwar joined the group I was recently advertising so we're actually seeing it in real time. Even with a dedicated place to hang out, ways to leave messages for each other, group notices going out, people still won't take that first initiative to speak up and get the ball rolling.

    We're getting way off topic with this one and it has nothing to do with SL, so I suggest posting it or sending it elsewhere, but I'd love to see some peer reviewed studies or findings on matriarchy ever functioning or even existing long term or large scale in human history.

    Yes, they do. Statistically, anyway. This extends beyond just SL- you're expecting the world to change and the entire dynamic of interpersonal relationships to operate differently. Which to be fair is an admirable goal... Unfortunately, according to just about every study out there, most women don't want it to change. Which means it won't. Men will continue to have to be the ones to approach, including the men that are bad at it.

    I watched a thing recently about Daryl Davis. I didn't do any deep dives into it, but the premise it showed off was really impressive.

    YES BUT... SL also has the little X up at the top right we can use to escape RLV or getting caught AFK, too.

    Yeah, but at least in SL I can instantly teleport to a different location that doesn't have the same barriers and issues.

    As short term solution, letting landlords sort it out sounds good. But now they have to hire people to spend time doing that, and land costs just went up 8,000%. Plus the moment one of them does the thing they're supposed to mediate, it's back on LL again.

    Sure, LL could start trying to enforce discrimination claims like the legal system does, too. They'll be bankrupt in about 7 seconds. Those claims last years and cost millions to sort out.

    I'm not sure how LL could do that better without getting into this territory where I can grief you and then say "I'm PoC, you can't ban me". It's an extremely fine line they have to walk.
