  1. I'd visit to at least poke around but I do have to ask: Furry/Anthromorph friendly or would I need to swap to a Hybrid (Human Body Kitsune) or Elven form? Not exactly comfortable as a normal (or Cyber Augmented even) human base.
  2. <Insert Game here> will have some negative effect on Second Life's userbase!
  3. The way they have it set up now, once you have a bank or similar linked to your PayPal account you must provide the aformentioned information in order to send any money you recieve, out to said financial institution. Until you do, all you can (or could at the time) do was have money sent to your PayPal from another PayPal or send money out that you had loaded in from Green Dot or other loading systems/locations. It has been this way for a few years now with minor variations of the process.
  4. Oh for ... Read it again. And again. And again. And again. Continue to read the information given until it sinks in. What those who have responded here are saying is how it is phrased and how it will be set up, answers for your concerns were already given and do not match at al with your personal take. If you wish to close down your account and leave, do so but do not pretend this recent announcement/change is the reason for it. And yes, the above is aimed at everyone that is reacting in any similar manner.
  5. It is rare for such a Q&A thread to go well for any kind of Online Service (let alone a VW or actual game). People are suspicious of change and very quick to believe or invent almost any sort of ulterior motives or conspiracies - often whole cloth at that.
  6. The Client is open sourced (for the most part) and someone reverse engineered part of the simulator code years ago (how we got OpenSim) so go build it yourself. Then come back and tell us how it went - and no, you don't get to start from scratch.
  7. It will likely be announced through a Blog. As of right now however, it's a while away from even being started let alone being released.
  8. While I am certain this has been said already and possibly in a somewhat more polite or veiled manner I will still restate it and as bluntly as possible: Child Avatars are not real children. At all. There are no clauses anywhere in the Terms of Service nor the Community Standards regulating anything about Child Avatars outside of the rather explicit ban on their interaction with Adult (sexual) material. There are clauses regulating the acceptable language, actions and animations of all avatars contained within the Terms of Service and Community Standards however, these clauses are somewhat broken down by service section and - in the case of in world effects - region rating. In the future you might try reading the terms of Service and Community Standards before posting a question concernng the behavior of any avatar.
  9. And as always it was only a matter of time before someone popped in trying to equate their choice to stockpile their stipend as some normal thing ...
  10. No. Wrong. It means that they are perks that do not appeal to most people - that is all it means. No perk in something like Second Life should ever be a "must have" and amusingly enough there are even free to play games that follow this same train of thought. To make it quite plain: Perks should be just that - perks. Nice things to have that in no way impair enjoyment of the software if you do not have them. That is not a point I am willing to "discuss" either. Oh yes and this is coming from someone who went Premium some time back and for whom those perks are useful.
  11. Point blank: If you're not the primary Administrator for a forum or otherwise on their Administrative team then your opinion on posting to an older topic means nothing whatsoever beyond your personal preference. The only "right" answer is how the Administraor/Administrative team decides to handle it.
  12. Look farther back in the thread or use the forum search feature - the source of that has already been covered. Boiling it down for you however: The comment that was sourced from suggested that the price might be equivalent to a couple of months of Premium membership. At the time the comment was made, Premium was $9.95 a month with Quarterly rates in the high 20's as cost. At 35, that is equivalent to about three and a half months - just above the cost of Quarterly. As much as I hate to make the comparison, most MMOs with a paid subscription of any kind charge for an account level name change with some charging for individual character name changes as well. With all that this service will entail for Second Life on the technical side? Count your blessings that it's being aimed at being that cheap. Mind, things I'd pay for include the ability to clone an inventory from one account to another (cue the screaming and gnashing of teeth from content creators) or some similar system/set up. Heck, I'd even find some way to save up enough to pay for a one time upgrade to a 4096 tier level (I think that's what the old Lifetime Accounts have).
  13. It should be noted that not every item made for the Kemono will properly fit anything other than the stock version with the stock shape. This is why there are many after market alterations (Starbright being the one I use) that can affect this too. The above is also true of any mesh body - fitted mesh or not.
  14. While I personally no longer have the patience to rejoin them if the Mentor program came back, I am all for its return. Yes, there were some bad apples/users who abused the program - and? Short of not having the program at all, the best you can do is attempt to mitigate/prevent it.
  15. Yes, and Qie's opinion - unless the quoted post was in jest - is that those who signed ought to be boycotted. By at least Qie. People have the right to an opinion. They do not have the right to be free of consequence.
  16. Sheesh ... There are no Island based rentals out there (reputable and "full featured" anyway) that offer a 4096 at 400 a week. None, period. You might be able to find such an offer on a Mainland, shared bubble plot or a Homestead .... But you're short changing yourself on those options. No, repeating your "data" with an eye bleeding highlight (seriously, that came out as black text on a bright white background - there's a reason I use the forum Dark Mode) does not make it any more "true" or "correct" - deal with it.
  17. That might be because you were thinking logically instead of The Quick and Dirty Way.
  18. Alternately you can use the three search fields on your order history page to find any item or set of items you'd like to have redelivered.
  19. The packages required by SLVoice are mostly outdated, sadly. Firestorm has a lovely troubleshooting page that lists the dependencies needed - best to do the search and install through the Terminal as at least one package is no longer available through the Synaptic Package Manager.
  20. Oh for cripe sake animats ... Go. Build. It. Yourself. No seriously, if you hold such a narrow minded view (and it is narrow minded) then go build your own Grid. Gads .... ETA: Oh yes, and before you mouth off, do try giving this post from this very thread a read, you might find that your overall attitude is quite covered by at least one entry there. Also, the only reason I bothered to respond to you this time is because Selene partially quoted your drek, spurring my curiosity to see just what you'd said.
  21. The System Requirements page is woefuly out of date - which should be fairly obvious to even those who blindly buy their computers pre-assembled from Dell, Walmart and such ...
  22. It can also be linked back to text RP and the IC/OOC dividing line. Though no matter which way you slice it, it (and variations) essentially boil down to keping some barrier between Online and Offline social (and other) circles.
  23. Land prices are not set by Linden Lab, Tier prices are and with the increase of Tier allowance on Premium accounts, they have effectively reduced that cost by a small amount.
