  1. They said at the birthday that they intended to complete Zindra. So my money is on an adult hub with a club as part of it, placed somewhere in the area as they add in the final regions for the continent. Likely to just be a regular music type club, only with fewer restrictions on what you can wear and say. Could have a shopping bit like the main hub, only focusing on merchants who make adult stuff. Things people asked for were adult Linden Homes and for the birthday adult area to have a stage. Both of those aren't too outrageous, so it might happen. Linking in Zindra with everywhere else was already turned down. It'd need too many regions, but even if it didn't, everything they've done so far has made sure people can't wander into the adult areas by mistake or see the adult areas from a general/mature region. The birthday and shop and hop required people to teleport, rather than having a walking route. Which is a good thing. It means people don't have to see anything they don't want to see and the adult areas can do whatever without worrying about it.
  2. It makes sense to have a ticket pause when it's a premium plus theme. A lot of people will find a house they want in the initial period, so there won't be such a rush of tickets when they open. In this case, it's also a holiday, so people will be covering when other people have breaks. Waiting until everyone's back at work in the new year is sensible. It's baffling to me that someone wouldn't wait a couple of weeks for something they really want. After waiting all this time for the theme to be finished and released, a few more weeks isn't much.
  3. I survived the alternative transport!
  4. Some places already ban non-human avatars. That's peanuts compared to having people throw stones at me whilst shouting racial slurs. I don't actual want people treating me here like they do in first life. It's nice to have a break from that sort of realism.
  5. Judging from examples on the internet of places that insist on real names and photographs, it won't make it harder for people. It'll actually make it easier if they deem the avatar to be the wrong sort of person. Life is a lot nicer as a mushroom.
  6. In the early stages, it means they can move things around without people thinking it'll be permanent. In the later stages, it's so they can do the reveal for the hype and all that. Much like people wrap presents. Speculation can also start to get out of hand once people have some information. I might look at the terrain on the map and note it looks like a dry environment, and many steps later, people are saying Ancient Egypt is confirmed for a theme and pyramid houses for everyone. So you want that bit short, before people get too convinced that any guesses were official announcements.
  7. The map covers are off, so you can see the regions. Some of the tile sets have water features, like a little river running through them.
  8. My experience of having a neighbour who built a public adult playground on general land is that my reports didn't result in any action. In the end, someone clearly told the owner that they couldn't do that and they moved out, but it was many months later. That was a case that obviously broke the rules in every way, so I wouldn't expect a fast response (or any at all) to some furniture hidden in a skybox. Someone who tries reporting everyone as a make money fast scheme would find that the money is not made fast, if at all.
  9. When I visit an area, I want to see the sights and the story and so on. The permissions list is not a spoiler. It does not entertain me in any way. You can tell me what permissions you're going to use (or not) without it revealing anything about the plot. Forced animation can deform non-human avatars, which I'd rather not have to sort out. Forced camera control can make me motion sick, which is a dealbreaker and will most likely last the rest of the day once triggered. You aren't going to know all the reasons why people want to know which permissions you're using, so just tell them.
  10. Dots moving around and region restarts in the new area.
  11. No better view of the lights than right in the middle of them because you just crashed into the front of the house.
  12. Collision portals can be useful, but there should be an alternative. An easy way would be to have them bring up the map on click as well as using the experience to teleport if you walk into them. That way, people have a chance to look around and decide if they want to trust the experience. They don't require the experience just to get to the bit that interests them. It'd also help if owners included a comment in their rules notecards about what their experience does.
  13. I kept the blood as red is very festive and also added some snow monsters.
  14. In the past, that's how it worked. You could only return things with the root on your land. But people griefed with that all the time, so we were given the option to return things that overlapped. I usually ignore small skybox overlaps at heights I'm not using. I did return the giant sky sphere a not-really-neighbour put up at a height I was using. They were not actually next to me, but the sphere was so huge it went over multiple parcels. There are times it won't work, like the object being on another region. You have to still report those.
  15. If you want a floatie to sit on when you're there, it'd be better to set it up in a rezzer. Make the floatie temp and it will disappear when you stand up again.
  16. Some are broken and some are working, so worth wandering a bit and trying a different giver. No idea.
  17. They're still keeping the map covers on to stop us spying. It's like they know us.
  18. You can't accidentally destroy anything and they're copy so you have fresh clones to experiment on in your inventory! You can explode them and keep them. You can have it all! I would say that the thing that worked was something I'd tried before. I put the boxes and the boopies through a lot of experiments when I first got them. But as Patch confirmed it was a thing, I thought I'd give it another go and repeat the things I'd done before. It worked this time. Second Life sometimes doesn't register clicks, so try everything a few times.
  19. I haven't managed to explode a boopie yet! Though in my attempts at such things, if you click and hold on the follower animesh, you get a menu to turn the sounds on/off. I've not seen #5 anywhere yet. The snowflake prizes are currently not gettable as the prize givers went offline yesterday, but you can still collect the snowflakes and hopefully they'll get fixed. Edit: Oops, I have now exploded a boopie. RIP batcat.
  20. I'd suggest visiting the Winter Wonderland. You can get a HUD and find snowflakes for prizes on your own and play snowball fight games if a few other people are around. I've seen people starting these games all day. The shop and hop isn't really a group activity, but each shop has a free gift and it'll knock out any ideas you have that nobody is around. There are so many winter events running right now. Autumn and winter are usually packed. It tends to be summer that's a bit quiet. This blog post rounds up a lot of that stuff and links to the destination guide at the end for more: https://community.secondlife.com/blogs/entry/14567-joy-to-the-grid-join-us-for-these-2023-holiday-events-and-activities/ Without any details on the stuff you like, it's hard to recommend other things. Your icon here means maybe scifi? In which case, I'd suggest joining the SL Sci-Fi Con group. The con proper is next year, but it'll mean you're there to be reminded. Delete your current profile stuff and replace it with a bit about the stuff you like. Look at other people's profiles and see what groups they're in. If something seems to be relevant to your interests, join the group. They won't all work out, but you'll find new communities that way.
  21. Boopies (toy collectables) are starting to get more complicated as there are multiple in different places this winter (and possibly one somewhere that hasn't been mentioned yet, as the highest number is #11 and only ten have been announced). So here's a summary of what's known so far and people can add any others as they're found. This is sometimes a Linden Homes topic and sometimes not, but mods can kick the thread around wherever it needs to be. Halloween 2023: #1 Spooky Cat, #2 Ghosty, #3 Hoots and #4 Batcat. Premium Plus Gift Winter 2023: #8 Abominable Buddy Premium Gift Winter 2023: #9 Reindeer Winter Snowflake Hunt 2023: #10 Snowman, #6 Nessie in a Bowl and #7 Snowflake. Christmas Expo 2023: #11 Chilly
  22. I'm a cynical person, but there isn't realistically much to gain in someone answering thread after thread of help questions on a random internet forum. That means the most likely explanation in this scenario for why someone seems to be trying to help is that they're actually trying to help. Which means they aren't going to offer advice and then quickly report someone in the hopes that there won't be time to follow the advice. You're defending a support system that's already shown that they delete as their first action, to say that they wouldn't do that. Yet the people here are assumed to have the worst intentions without evidence. I don't need to hear your reasoning on why you do that, but it's not going to fly with me.
  23. A support ticket would have resulted in all the products being taken down, because they'd have checked them and seen the keyword spam. The point of raising the spam issue here was so the original poster could get the remaining listings fixed before anyone official checked. It's very likely that the other products were already in the queue to check, so the only way to save them was to get those keywords edited fast. I haven't had this issue so much with the marketplace here, but I know on POD sites, I've had listings saved because someone warned others that certain keywords were getting products deleted (usually because of a weird copyright/trademark claim). The point to take away isn't that forum people are evil meanies who will report all your stuff and destroy your dreams. It's that when you're given a warning about something that breaks the rules, you've got to sort it out quickly. Realise that most other merchants are trying to help you when they explain why a product was deleted or why other products will be deleted.
  24. Pretty often as the fantasy area in the Linden Homes has a nice cycle with the glow as well. Day cycles for EEPs can do whatever you want, so you can have one with sunrises and sunsets. What's different with EEP is it doesn't have to be a regular day. I have one with holographic grid lines and the colour changes during the day, rather than the sun/moon moving. I made one for my birthday build that was random weird skies. To get started, you create static skies for some times of day (or pick ones from the library). For a regular day, midnight, noon, sunset and sunrise are a good starting point. Then you put those into the cycle. They act like keyframes in an animation, so the system will sort how it should look as it moves between the skies you added.
  25. Things I'd try before asking support about it: First: Restart your computer and reopen the viewer. If your viewer isn't the latest version, update it. Second: Go to the marketplace website and customise the store. Doesn't need to be permanent stuff. Just throw something into the profile picture and some words, to make sure you can edit the store. Then restart your viewer again. Third: Create a cube and pick it up. Try moving that to the marketplace folder.
