  1. You can search the marketplace for thigh high boots and specify copy mod with the check boxes on the left. I saw these with a quick search. Maybe some others you like better would be there as well. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Stella-Thigh-Boots-2011-Black-Leather/1690953

  3. Oh ... and a warning. Building is addictive. You will hit 50K+ inventory very quickly if you are not careful. Selling your builds is a yucky, boring and tedious process. At least that is the way I felt. The photos, boxing and packaging only only the start. Then there is store space, customer service, accounting (and you need to be on top of your accounting from the start!) and the absurd amount of L$ spent on advertising. Oh, and don't forget you need to learn how to get your listing higher in the search. Business. Yuck. I get enough of it in RL. I hope you have fun creating tho :smileyvery-happy:
  4. Keli Kyrie wrote: : what do I need to know to make this dress? First, bookmark this page. http://www.mermaiddiaries.com/2006/11/build.html You need to understand alpha channels in images, particularly TGA images. The sleeves can be done with the system shirt layer or with prims. If you use the system you will get the fleshy under texture like you do with system pants but to fix this you would add gloves like you would add socks for pants. Or you could use prims. Your choice. When you start making clothes, get a good set of templates. Make the template a layer and create another blank on top where you will put your shading. Textures and fabrics go between them. When you are done, save the shading texture for use on the next blouse or dress. But the best thing to know is how to use the temporary uploads commonly available with TPV like Phoenix. It can save a bundle over time by not paying for uploads that you may not use.
  5. If they feel the guesture belongs to them, they need to file a DMCA on the creator to have it taken down. Anything else is drama and speculation.
  6. This will be the third one given, but it should be: RenderVolumeLOD = 4.0
  7. Coffee! Need more coffee. java. mud. joe. go juice. I nedz sum.
  8. Ah. I got it off of your project site. The Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue and Support. From the JEARS site: We are a coalition of three groups; HEART-Tokushima, Animal Garden Niigata and Japan Cat Network. We are groups that have been rescuing and rehoming animals in Japan for many years. Our intention starting this group is to keep animal rescue on the agenda, provide shelter space, coordinate some Earthquake/Tsunami animal rescues, and to share animal rescue related news to the public. Like our individual groups, our collaboration will be staunchly no-kill. Any funds donated will be strictly and explicitly reported as well as expenses. Money and resources will be used strictly for rescue, care and support of animals in crisis due to the earthquake and tsunami. And while I first imagined cats and dogs, we can not yet know what animals beyond that we will be in a position to help. Thanks to all for the support!
  9. As with anything on the internet, I keep a healthy level of paranoia so forgive my lack of trust. Do you have a link to an established organization where I could donate directly if I wished?

Also, as Venus pointed out, if i chose to use a third party viewer all the time, i wouldn't have the problem But i choose not to, for various reasons. I am using the regular V2 viewer now. Have you already edited you picks? I see 3 in your profile and they don't appear to be cut off. Of course the first two are kind of short. The third has 5 points but nothing looks cut off. As an avid profile reader I find it more annoying to go through the web profile rather than the tabbed box it was. If the web profiles actually popped up on my web browser instead of in world it would be big step forward.
  11. I know some places also sell bangs as an attachment you can add to other styles. I thought Truth did, but Analog Dog does and .. . oh, I don't want to start making promises someone else has to keep. Anyway, if you can find the swept forward bob some place you might look and see if the have bangs separate.

  13. First, it may be helpful to realize that the world of Second Life is for the most part user created. The basic tools and underlying engine is Linden Lab's program but the scripts, clothes, music, buildings and textures are created by other residents just like you. On to the answers 1. It was once done by a resident that had a shop called "Avatar Island." I don't know if they are still around or not but it might be worth looking in to. I don't see this being a Linden Lab implemented feature in the near future. 2. Not really. The viewer version 2.6.x (current the beta viewer) has the ability to chose between advanced and basic modes. It is free to download. There are other people who produce viewers with additional features (TPV or third party viewers) but it is against the TPV policy to sell these viewers. So no, you can not buy a viewer in any form. You may download all you want for free. 3. See #2. 4 & 5. These would need to be resolved through the makers of the second inventory tool.

  15. how much is too much? I think I just found out. I'll check back in a few but I am feeling a strong desire to find somewhere a little more secure.
  16. This past weekend, we went to the pet store for food and bedding for all our pets. When we were walking in, there was a lady and her grand daughter walking out. The little girl was 5 or 6 years old, wearing a bright flowery dress and holding a bag containing 4 gold fish and water. She was so proud of her fish she had to show them to us. How can you not smile at a moment like that? Other things that make me smile: an empty in-box at work creme brulee 5 meter length of rope waking up to the smell of coffee brewing putting on my lace-up ropers (not so much about the boots them selves but what they have done) helping a newbie ironic examples of instant karma
  17. I found the problem. The text of the link is correct but the link itself tries to open "setting/privacy" instead of "settings/profile#interests" I copy/paste the URL in the address bar and it worked for me.
  18. Torley Linden wrote: Can I edit my profile when I'm not inworld? Yup, since it's called a "web profile" that's exactly what you can do: go to https://my.secondlife.com/settings/profile#interests and login. I guess I will keep trying.
  19. Current Log In Issues Posted by Status Desk on March 21st, 2011 at 01:08 pm PDT [postED 1:06 PM PDT Mar 21 2011] We are aware that a portion of our residents are currently experiencing problems logging in and with inworld services as well as having difficulty logging onto the Second Life website. We are currently working to resolve this as swiftly as possible. In the mean time, please avoid making important transactions or rezzing no-copy objects.

  21. Some acronyms have become words. Snafu, for example. And then there are companies that go by their initials. BBC, AT&T, and many more. Are those acronyms? Is saying Charlie Foxtrot alright or should I spell it out?
