Phil Deakins wrote: Judging by the posts in this thread, hiding the name isn't generally intentional - it's a "I like my graphic and I don't care that people don't know who writes my posts" attitude. This is a forum and that's not impressive. Really? That's how you feel about their comments? The impression I got was that people are using a feature so useful it even has its own sticky right at the top of this very forum. You can't claim people are intentionally hiding from you because you keep your eyes closed.
  2. Friday's work is done and I am back home where I can get a sot of my hair. I wear my normal mop at least 90% of the time. This is the updo I wear when I have to have one. I like it, but it is just not me. Anyway, this is from damselfly.
  3. I had to make sure the Clover was not chasing the peacock around again
  4. I had estate land once upon a time that was right next to the landing point for the rental shack. Needless to say we had a lot of random visitors. I kept my furniture set to group only and tried to remember to keep it turned off. I left the toys in the garden available for anyone, tho. It was an open minded community and we tended to let each other share. Outside stuff was free to use. Going inside was, of course, kind of rude. I will take a wild guess and say that for every dork, there are 9 more that dropped by and said hello; asked if they could sit by our pond or dance at the gazebo; in general we had pleasant conversations and shared stories. But that other 10% were annoying. It was like that guy that always tracks mud in at your office. I had one guy tp into my house while I was getting dressed and started with the very rude "me bleep you now and you like it." I froze him, put on a male avatar and ran the old "foxtrot" his head tool. He started calling me names and crying about how I raped him and how changing into a man was just sickening and how he was going to have me banned. Whatever. ignore, toss and ban. Since he never bounced on top of the parcel ban line I assume he tp'ed out when the last freeze wore off. If you go to a BDSM sim and mess with a dominatrix on her throne, you can expect to learn what the "S" stands for and it sure ain't "softie." But the fun with dorks gets old fast. Eventually we moved up into the sky to avoid the drop ins. Shame, really. It was a nice neighborhood otherwise. Great bunch of people lived there.
  5. Tem Haalan wrote: What a great picture...... I'd love to know what a windlight setting is? The words "windlight setting" actually don't mean much any more. Windlight was a project name. The project was to enhance the SL viewer with better graphics utilizing newer technologies on modern video cards. The project has come and gone, but some of the benefits of that project are the advanced lighting and sky settings you can control. It settings are part of the environment control and depending on the viewer you use, they can be reached in various ways. Phoenix, Emergence and Imprudence (if I remember correctly) can change the windlight preset from a list found by clicking on the button on the lower right of the screen. Kerstin's has a short cut to the advanced atmospheric setting on the top bar just left of the "address bar." You can pick a preset from the list or play with all the sliders and settings yourself. Next, the "presets" are much like when setting the sun or time of day from the environment editor. However, there are many more you can choose from. TPV's usually include some of the more popular ones including Torly's which are great for doing some unusual effects. For the standard V2 viewer, you can download an xml file that has most of these settings from here along with instructions on how to use them. It is really very easy to install and use. Anyway, that is probably more than you cared about. If you have any questions or want to know more, just ask.
  6. And because I want to see it again Ian Undercroft wrote: Men's formal seems so dull compared to the wonderful women's gowns. I love the setting, the suit is top notch and the tasty beef-bites of man in the middle is not bad either
  7. I have yet to find an updo I like. I do have a couple that are passable but I am still looking for the perfect haor for formal occasions. But if you want an UP-do, there is always the one from Curio Obscura

  9. Ctrl-Shift-X Also, if you mark off a selection it keeps you from warping parts that do not need to be warped.
  10. Janelle Darkstone wrote: Then drop in the background and resume fighting dragons in some faraway land. Or something. :smileywink: I love what you have done here. Very nice with the perfect expression. The same technique is often used to fix the "hand through skirt" artifacts. Take one picture normally and the second without the skirt. Then layer them with the normal shot on top, the erase just enough to expose the hand from the bottom layer. This is something I have used but it seems so mundane compared to your marvelous creation.
  11. <Kudos> Too bad it doesn't count But it is there none the less.
  12. I get them in bulk at Costco because I loose so many from my failing memory.
  13. squashy Beeswing wrote: inworld isn't going directly to the Lab, but surely it's worth something? Those big full sim stores have to get their L$ to pay tier somewhere. I call myself a freeloader in a tounge-in-cheek way because of they way some people felt about non-premium members long ago. I guess I should let it go. But the bottom line is, it ain't cheap to look this trashy
  14. Stormm Firecaster wrote: Venus Petrov wrote: Thank you for listening! Now, can we also have an adult-only subforum? I think an adult-only subforum would be a fantastic idea Venus. Somewhere we can kick back and relax and talk on topics not suitable for the younger generation without fear of upsetting anyone. I totally second this vote! Right! Like what fiber supliment do you use, or where to buy reading glasses at cut rate prices.
  15. It functions exactly like the enhancers. It changes the shading around the breast but this time, instead of adding more they cover up what is there. They are colored to match your skin tone and are worn like a tattoo or a clothing layer. I know LAQ's are on several layers plus the tattoo. In otherwords, they are skin swatches that cover up the push-up bra shading on your chest.
  16. Latisha Pexie wrote: Some of my friends prefer storage boxes. My partner is a big believer in boxes. I only box my textures and snapshots, but those are a large part of my inventory that will seldom be used. When I am purging old inventory I can toss shoes, clothes, furniture and even animations I have not used in months and now I will never wear again, but I can not let go of my textures
  17. Hi, Dreams. Welcome to the new forums. There is an employment section lower down the page that you should consider posting this in. That way, people coming here looking for work will be sure and see it rather than being lost in the noise that is "Off Topic." And good luck on your venue. I know they are hard to run effectively.
  18. Vania Chaplin wrote: @ Katalina - Just keep ARing this person until the defamation is removed from their profile. You will not receive any other response from LL - it is part of their politics on AR's. This may get results but it really smells like harassment to me. Kat, if you feel it is worth the risk, go ahead and try. For me, SLife is too short to worry about it.
  19. Darrius Gothly wrote: Marcus Hancroft wrote: .... Personally, I thought it was ridiculous that a word could be excluded from any and all creations in SL because they have the copyright or trademark to a single word. I guess this is the case, but I sure don't understand HOW. Superior attorneys. The closer you are to having a similar product the tighter the Trademark restrictions. Being a competing client the products are very similar. If she made, say, Restrained Life Tacos or some such or if the Restrained Life Viewer was a real life set of blinders for pony-play then the question of trademark infringement would never even be looked at. And if I remember correctly, she changed the name voluntarily after SL started protecting "SL", Second Life Widgits, Second <whatever> and other forms of it trademark.
  20. LOVE IT! That's a great idea for a tee.
  21. Ah, the melodrama! So fresh this time of year. See the post earlier about the girl that was fired from a club for making too much money You are better off rising above rather than slinging drama after more drama. Don't let it get to you. It makes you hit caps-lock and is bad for your stress level.

  23. I also make folders for hunts and put all the hunt items there. That way I know what needs to be sorted. Clothes are easiest to subdivide for me. Complete outfit or separate? Dresses sorted by length with casual, party and gowns. I used to keep jeans in yet another folder but I now only have 3 pair. Also, keep a picture with each outfit. If it did not come with a picture, make one. It makes it so much easier to remember what an outfit is. You only have to open the one photo instead of wearing the whole thing and waiting to res.
