  1. I just needed somthing to do with dancing. Trying to get the right shot in the middle of an animation can be tough. Even worse when you finally get it all set up and timed right ... but the animation changes to the next dance :smileymad: So how about you? Caught any good action shots lately?
  2. I honestly don't remember. I remember looking at them when I went looking for prim feet but I went with SLink in the end. You can probably get a demo and try them out. I went with SLink because the nail huds for her shoes work with the bare feet too.

  4. valerie Inshan wrote: Rhonda! I was waiting for you! :smileyvery-happy: Oooo. I haz a stalkR :smileytongue: And thank you. A year or so ago I was asked to give away the bride for a RL friend. While shopping for a tux I bought a very nice one from edo, but in my search I ran across this and just had to have it
  5. The worst problem with wearing formal is all at black just looses definition. I have a very nice tux but I seldom stay in it long. Once the wedding is over, I get comfortable :smileyhappy:
  6. Brez Landar wrote: SLINK barefeet are at 80% off female and 50% off male until tomorrow only, great feet You need to be in the group and have the tag active when you buy them to get the sale price. And just to give another option, J's has some prim feet with flip-flops. The shoe portion can be turned on and off so you are barefoot with them as well.
  7. My Clover dressed for the Saint Patrick's Day party.
  8. Jollie Femme makes a hair called Morgan specifically for wearing with hats..
  9. [ETA] I just noticed I am wearing the wrong fingernails
  10. From the MLPV2 wiki ... "Hand-held Props For props to be used as hand-held items, use the ~give script add-on found here MLPV2_Give_Item_Add-on and have people wear the items."
  11. I took this one tonight. There is nothing like finding a "new" dress hidden in your inventory :smileyvery-happy:
  12. 1st life I always wear foundation, lip gloss and eye liner. My skin is so pale I can not wear much more. 2nd Life I typically wear a little more.
  13. Aimee Weber wrote: This is crazy talk! ROFLCOPTER! It's like deja vu all over again. [ETA] In case anyone is wondering ... Aimee trademarked her avatar a few years ago.
  14. This is an older shot but I always think of it as my vanity picture. Clover doing her make up at the vanity.
  15. Thanks, Void. Yep, we need at least one key or it won't upload into SL. I adjusted the right hand slightly and left the left alone. (Now that is an odd sounding sentence) Sion, if you want them, I have an animation and a script that will run the animation when attached. I was going to drop them on you in world but you are not listed in search :smileysad: Just send me an IM and I'll let you have what I made.
  16. Hmm, let me give it a shot when I get home and I'll see what I can come up with.
  17. Tabitha Caligari wrote: Thank you everyone. You're right: it sounds like the more things change, the more they stay the same. I don't recall any third-party viewers at all. The latest new thing when I last played was the addition of flexi-prims. I guess I'll just have to poke around and see what's changed. Media on a prim and mesh imports I don't know what are and will have to find out. Is the Ivory Tower still around? IP addresses being "broadcast"? by whom? Is that like those annoying forum sigs that say "Your IP is blah and you live in City" but don't actually do any harm? Media on a prim is another step forward in the the "telivision" style objects. Ivory Tower is still there (I think). Re: IP address. If you have music or media turned on, you actually connect outside of SL to the media server and it will need your IP to negotiate a connection. This can be abused by scripts that can make your local browser broadcast its IP address. So far no big deal. But then multiply this a few thousand times and start gathering all this in a database along with avatar names associated with addresses, where they were spotted and cross reference this with every other avatar that has used the same IP address. OK, now add that the SL client is basically a web browser ... with the media stream expolit, it is also possible to push cookies onto your local computer. All of this is done in the name of sim protection. It also makes a handy stalking tool. Anyway, it was the source of tons of drama and eventually became banned tech so the priestkings destroyed those systems .... or something like that :smileyvery-happy: The bottom line, it was more like anyone who bought the system (or could hack a web based database ... google it up if want to see how to hack RedZone) just needed to look up you and all your alts, the IP addresses you have used and anyone else who has logged on with your computer or who has connected to SL with your IP address. Instead of "Your IP is blah and you live in City" it kept that information and shared it with anyonme who cared to look. The possibility for abuse was high and I believe the merger of teengrid with the main grid was a deciding factor as well.

If you want anyone to read that wall of text, you should add some line breaks. ... or hope most people aren't too lazy to read 32 lines of text 80% of the popuation will not read past 6 to 8 lines. You have to grab their attention and state what you want to let them know in the first 4 lines if possible. You may then use extra paragraphs to explain your point but each must also be under 6 lines if you want them read. It works this way for forums, business emails and christmas letters to your family.
  19. I know you can buy centaur avatars from "Hoof It", and probably other places too. But I don't know where you could go see one. I once had some friends among the furries that were chakats. The avatar skeleton has to be severely warped to mimic a quadruped out of a bipedal frame so there is a very limited amount of movements one can do. This is one of the reasons things like centaurs are not as common as one would first expect.
  20. The hand position controlled by animations. The hand position to use is set at the time of upload. For prim nails, you would need a basic, blank animation that looped and set the priority to 3 or 4. It would not be a bad idea to check every so often to see if your animation is still in the running animation list and if not, fire it up again.
  21. Ian Undercroft wrote: Enter "Caledon Oxbridge" into search and then teleport there. It provides the best "walk through" tutorial in SL, in my opinion. You will learn how to change shape, skin, clothes, etc.. It's also a "nutter" free environment which, in my experience, is more than can be said for most info-hubs. I second this! It is a better starting center than any other I have seen.
  22. WeeWillie Wylie wrote: YT Upsilon wrote: Just make sure you have a "bald" base for your head Is that true anymore? With skins without hair is a bald base necessary anymore or has it simply become a tool to shape eyebrows? Kinda the appendix of parts from the old system hair days. Just curious... Skin and hair are two seperate things. System hair behaves a lot like the system skirts; they are inaddition to and seperate from the main avatar. However, hair is a basic body part along with shape, skin and eyes. Unlike a skirt you must always have a system hair worn. The "bald cap" as it is sometimes known is just a system hair that is pulled all the way in. But yes, you still need to have these even with the modern hair and skins. You can not just take off your system hair; you can only replace it.
  23. Sn@tch has a complete avatar for new residents including skin, shape, clothes and all. LAQ has a free female skin for newbies -- I don't recall seeing it the last time I was there, but then I was not looking for it.
  24. Other changes: Media on a prim. Mesh import is in live beta. I don't know if you were here when Emerald was caught being naughty (again) and was banned, but they reformed as Phoenix viewer. Kerstin's viewer is doing amazing things with shadows being just one. It is the de facto photographer's viewer now. Phoenix is working on their V2 version called Firestorm but other than that and Kerstin's, the 3rd party viewers are still using version 1 base code. Drama, drama and then some more drama. The more things change, the more they remain the same
