Thank you for all your replies. It appears i will not be able to use this feature. I do, of course, save pictures to my hard drive for later editing if i want to upload them to Flickr etc. However, for the purposes of the Twitter feed the whole idea was to be spontaneous (even impulsive!) and upload raw, unedited shots with a sentence or two of commentary. Having to save pictures to disk or even sending directly to email and copying from there defeats the whole object for me. I do appreciate your suggestions and understand that this problem is down to Twitter changes and not SL, so thank you all for clarifying that for me. It's rather disappointing but i'll get over it. :-(

Hello there, i wasn't sure where to post this so i apologise in advance if i'm in the wrong section and trust that it will be moved to the correct slot. I've been trying to upload snapshots to Twitter without success. This is a feature that, AFAIK, is offered across all viewers, but doesn't appear to work on any consistently. Any ideas on anything i can do myself to eliminate this annoying bug if, in fact, that's what it is? I'm assuming a bug because i hear that the Twitter feature works for some people and not others. I really, REALLY want this feature to work. I'd be very grateful for any theories or suggestions offered. Thank you. :-)

I'm going to build a web in this corner here and dangle for a while ... see what happens :-) -
I'm a little puzzled. You say that you've changed viewers and now all of a sudden you're able to have your settings on high with no lag. In your initial post your settings were about as low as low could be, and you said that you still lagged. I'm glad you've found something that works for you, but astonished that switching viewers could make such a vast difference. Normally you'd only get that kind of improvement by upgrading your graphics card (as i know from experience).

I hope someone can provide some advice on this. I was chatting away when i lost the chatbox (i was doing a couple of other things at the same time). I clicked on her IM tab which showed her messages still popping up briefly, but i couldn't reply and i couldn't get the conversation panel to show up again. I then left clicked on her avatar and tried all ways i could think of to IM but nothing worked. I relogged but the problem persisted. So now i can't IM anyone at all and when i click to try i just get that annoying noise (the one that means "you can't do that" or "forbidden action"). I've never had this happen before and i don't know what to do! :matte-motes-agape:

Running Out Of Texture Memory

I don't find this to be an acceptable solution at all. Sculpted items should be rendered in as much detail as possible or they don't look right. Seeing them as they're meant to be seen, ie, without missing *a lot* of detail requires LOD factor of at least 3 and preferably nearer 4. I don't wish to gain on the 'swings' only to lose on the 'roundabouts' ! Eta: Your solution may work fine using a very short draw distance of, say, 52 but what about us landscape photographers? Busy clubs aren't the only environments where one experiences texture memory problems. -
Why people are jealous in Second Life?
squashy Beeswing replied to cursea's topic in General Discussion Forum
Pardon me for asking but are you actually old enough to be participating (i refuse to use the term 'playing') in Second Life? You seem so VERY immature and quite unable to relate to others in a sensitive or meaningful way. You remind me of a spoilt child who hasn't learnt yet how to socialise with its peers (you want what you want and that's that). Many, many, many people don't completely separate SL and RL. It doesn't make them wrong and you right or vice versa. GROW UP! -
Texture Memory Problem + SSA / SSB

Leia, that's the message i get too or very similar. Weird how it only started a few weeks ago, but others on the thread who are far more tech savvie than i have some theories as to why. If they're right, then things *may* improve over the next several weeks / months. -
Thank you to all who answered on my previous thread regarding this problem. I know we don't have long to wait now, but i'm wondering whether Server Side Baking will lessen the texture memory problems that Perry, myself and several others have experienced. I sincerely hope so. My computer is maxed out on memory and i can't add anymore (or so i'm informed). Up until a couple of months ago i wasn't aware of ANY memory problems but now i can't stay in a packed sim for more than 5 minutes. It's really annoying. I don't want to visit half-empty clubs, i want to visit Ambrosia, dammit!

Texture Memory Problem -- revisited

Thanks for all your input. I tried Cool Viewer and same thing happened. Diffferent message but the intent was the same. It just seems weird that this only started happening a couple of months ago.
