  1. I guess you haven't attended any of the weekly Bay City Alliance meetings? All are welcome. EDIT: Also, the weekly vehicle Rumbles happen each Thursday night. Again, all are welcome!
  2. That *is* sad. When this area was a topic of conversation before, I paid another visit to the region, and I'm glad I did. I expect the robot will go before too long, too. People wonder why some of us push back against the "let's update all the Mainland and make it new and shiny" bunch. This destruction of SL history is an example of why I do it.
  3. Oh, interesting. It's not a section I read, but I did glance there before commenting here, and I saw people promoting their own venues.
  4. You might try posting about it here: https://community.secondlife.com/forums/forum/295-favorite-destinations/
  5. The auto filter thing hates this thread for some reason! It's flagged both of my comments.
  6. Oh, I didn't try again. My prior comment was approved, someone asked a question in response to it, and I replied to their question. I assume it's the links to the FS wiki that are tripping the censors, but it's not making me want to try very hard to help anyone else going forward.
  7. Well, I just got another comment hidden, so I think I will stop trying to help people who ask land questions. If we can't reply in a timely fashion because our comments get hidden, what's the point?
  8. From the wiki link in my comment (use the debug setting @panterapolnocygave above ("FSRenderParcelSelectionToMaxBuildHeight"): It is possible to add or remove settings from the QuickPrefs window by clicking the wrench icon in the lower right corner. The window will change, and appear as shown to the right. This edit panel overlays the lower portion of the QuickPrefs window. Adding Settings To add a new setting, click the + button. A new “blank” control is added to the QuickPrefs window. Now it needs to be associated with a setting. Click on Choose and a long drop down list will appear; these are all the viewer debug settings; the list of Firestorm debug settings is given here for reference. Select the setting you wish to add. In the space to the left of the drop down, give the setting a name that you find meaningful, for what the setting does. The Type field is automatically filled in based on the type of setting. If the setting accepts only whole numbers, then click the Integer checkbox. For some settings, you can alter the minimum, maximum and increment values; do not do this unless you know exactly what they represent. Finished Making changes When you have completed making changes, click the 'x' button in the lower edit panel. It is then best to relog to ensure that changes “stick'.
  9. Apparently something about the forum software is a bit aggressive! My comment has now been approved, but maybe that "feature" needs a bit of tweaking.
  10. I just posted a totally benign (and, I think, helpful) comment in a thread in the Land forum, and got a message that a moderator would have to pre-approve it. At this moment, the comment is hidden, and for the life of me I can't figure out what in my comment would have triggered that response. Are we not allowed to add links to comments now? I'd just like some clarification so I know what to avoid, as it's honestly a waste of my time to comment on a thread and have said comment hidden for possibly hours until someone sees it is harmless and allows it to become visible. I'd add the link to the thread here, but don't want to trigger another message.
  11. This ^^ What I did was add it to Quick Preferences at the bottom of the FS viewer, so I don't have to hunt it down. I use it a lot!
  12. It's possible that Governance did not agree that the items you ARd were an issue. I don't think more rules is the answer, particularly if you seek "flexibility". Case-by-case is how they have always done it regarding encroachment on Linden land as far as I know, and that seems overall the best way to do it. The alternative really would be to just flat forbid any encroachment, which would be overkill, particularly in areas like Bay City where it is common to encroach a bit outside of the odd zig zag parcel borders.
  13. Your SLURL is missing the region name and doesn't work. Considering the time limit you have set, you might want to fix that pretty soon!
  14. The language used in this ad is misleading, and it is unfair to less experienced land shoppers to encourage this sort of thing. Please don't defend or encourage this type of business practice.
  15. That would be me, and you're welcome.
  16. I thought about Wildcat while reading through this thread yesterday
  17. Rachel's been busy in RL for some time, but she still pops in now and then, both in world and on the feeds. I don't know that I ever saw her here in the forums much; I mostly talk with her in the other two spots I just mentioned. And yes, she is a keeper!
  18. Griffin Ceawlin and Ishtara Rothschild, and I agree!
  19. Thank you for the mention, @Scylla Rhiadra, and what a fun list that was for me to read and reminisce over! At one point, most of the folks on that list were in world friends of mine, and I remember those days at the Cartel hangout and in the old forums fondly. I'm still around a bit in the forums, just mostly in the Land sections because as it turned out, I developed a real love for Mainland and exploring. My first lessons regarding buying and owning land came from @Chris Norseand @Lindal Kidd, and it's turned into quite the hobby (I am not a land seller, I just move around a lot). All that money I used to spend on hairs and shoes now goes to decorating new parcels. It mostly keeps me out of trouble. 😛
  20. You could conceivably get more prims for the same sized parcel by renting on a private region, but you could do the same on Mainland that is double prim (Bay City, Horizons, part of Zindra, and Nautilus. Maybe more that I'm not remembering at the moment.) If you are Premium and use that 1024 allowance to buy Mainland, and you own no other land or contribute no land allowance to any groups, then the only payment you will make after the initial land purchase is for that Premium account itself. If you rent, then yes, you will be paying regular payments to the land owner, but you wouldn't need to have a Premium account for that. Since you are asking specifically about prims, then the bottom line is that you will have more options to choose from if you rent.
  21. What @Marius Darkheartsaid, especially the part about "access to the Blake Sea". If someone read that and went to the parcel thinking it was close to the Blake Sea, they'd be quite disappointed when they saw the actual location. That's going to lose you a sale. The best way to advertise is to be accurate in your listing about what it is you are selling, and even then, it takes time. It's not been a week since you posted this.
  22. Price reduced to L$35,000! It won't be reduced again, so come check it out if you like waterfront parcels. (I forgot to mention the sunset view in the original post!)
