  1. I think of it as my entertainment allowance. In RL, people spend money on stuff like movies, hobbies, playing golf, buying booze, getting pedicures, going to sporting events, going to concerts, hanging out at clubs.... all sorts of things that are not necessary for survival, but they are things people enjoy and there's nothing wrong with that. Some of us use our "entertainment allowance" on SL, and there's nothing wrong with that, either. I sometimes sell my various parcels (and give up any LHs) just for the fun of having a clean slate and finding new spots to buy, but I do not do it because I think I should do it. What I have done on occasion is drop down a tier level, but that's really more because it starts to feel cluttered when I have too many parcels and find I'm not really visiting some of them. But finding parcels I love, buying and decorating them... this is fun for me, so no, I wouldn't like SL so much if I couldn't do that. I would definitely miss my hobby of playing with land, and would seldom log on, I think. I don't feel guilty spending my entertainment money in this way. It keeps me sane.
  2. Do we have any idea what Kodokuna Josei will eventually turn out to be? It's the one that has the large water area leading into Jollly Serpent and on down to the stilt homes. I assume the rail line will continue down from Shobu, but am wondering if the park-like landscaping will as well, or if there's something else in the works.
  3. The house I posted is in Sekiei. I didn't know there was a clone, though I've seen a few other sets of clones around!
  4. It actually started going a few days ago, but very slowly. The queue seems to be randomly letting one or two 1024s out, then back to the usual rotation of abandons. I don't believe any 512s (including the one you noted) have come up for grabs yet.
  5. Apologies if this has been discussed and I am not seeing it, but what are these white specks on the map? Does the mountain have dandruff now?
  6. For that price, I'd expect double prims. Just saying.
  7. My first thought as well! Why in the world would I sign up to pay more for some vague something that may or may not happen someday? I wouldn't do that in RL, and I won't do it here.
  8. Maybe LL should consider linking alts together somehow, then. I mean, mine all share the same payment method and email, so it's not like LL doesn't already know who they are. 😂
  9. Now, if they combine Kylie's suggestion with yours that we get the ability to transfer homes (as opposed to the current system of tossing and hoping to catch), that would be pretty ideal.
  10. You should add the location to your post.
  11. Yes! I love these woodsy mountain parcels. ❤️
  12. I love finding all the little surprise/different touches like that! I came across this one last night. From the front, looks pleasant enough, with some nice open space to the side.... but then I ventured around to check out the back yard...
  13. I think you've hit pretty much all the main ways of listing land. Many buyers ignore most/all of them, and prefer to just look on the map, so make sure your parcels have good descriptive names to catch their eye. If you try all these methods and your land isn't selling, revisit the prices you are asking.
  14. Exactly! I don't care if it's the house/parcel at an angle, or the road/bridge at an angle, the bottom line is the same... no neighboring house right up against yours!
  15. Awesome! It's a cool house that deserves to be loved.
  16. I'm about to put back this very interesting 512 (just to the left of the rez zone). Aside from having both road and boat rez zones right there, this one is situated at a diagonal (as are the nearby houses), so that you actually don't have a neighbor right next to you! Considering how "close" some of the 512s seem, this is pretty cool.
  17. I second the idea to contact the person if it's bothering you, and nicely ask about it. Maybe offer to help them come up with a new design for their home? Some people on SL are really very awkward socially, or they come from a culture different from one's own, and we just don't know this person's situation. If they are doing it for nefarious reasons, you'd figure it out quickly enough during the conversation, I would think.
  18. I got this one again, and am putting it back into the pool again. FYI that it's up for grabs, for those who liked it.
  19. They clearly don't feel they have the skill to design a space on their own, so they saw a home they loved (yours) and wanted to have a nice space like that for themselves. It's a compliment, and although most of us would not copy someone's design that thoroughly (though kind folks like @Blush Bravinfreely share their design details here), I don't think it's all that weird. The person might be a noob just trying to learn.
  20. If you are trying to buy Mainland, try TPing away from the region and back again, and relog if that doesn't work. It may just be a server glitch that will go away soon.
  21. The option for 1024 comes right before the option for 512.
  22. You'll get a much better response if you give some information here. No one wants to waste their time on an unknown. It's best for you to give the size of the parcels, their SLURLs, and the price you are asking for them.
  23. You definitely do not have to do this. The money is automatically deposited into your account, whether or not you log in. I have alts that go months without logging in, but they get their stipends every week. I know this because I steal it from them once it's built up to a nice big total.
  24. My guess is she's referring to the weekly L$300 stipend that Premium members get. If you do the math, it works out to be the equivalent of $60 USD/year, more or less.
  25. I love this one, and it's firmly landlocked with no water around at all. But what it does have is a rez zone right there with a long flight of stairs down to another road, and if you look closely at the end of the rez zone, you'll see the start of a really cute stone pathway that leads around the hill all the way up to the top. The parcel feels private and woodsy, and is a lot different from others I've seen.
