*SOLD* Perfect for sailing - Large water parcel on the Atoll, protected by boardwalks. Near the historic Moth Temple, with access to open water. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Iris/92/200/22 2,592 sq.m. L$38,880

It usually shows the parcel yellow a day or so before the little price tag appears. In the reverse, once a parcel sells, the yellow box disappears before the price tag does.

How long ago did you abandon the land? You will be billed each month for the highest amount of land you owned the previous month, even if you only owned it for one day (or less!). So, for example, if you abandoned that land on the first day of August, you'd still be billed for it for the month of August.

I second the Bazar recommendation. The Stockholm bed is a favorite of mine (the Leah one looks pretty modern, too): https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/BAZARStockholm-Bed-ADULT/16788251 https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/BAZARLeah-Bedroom-ADULT/22877314

I wondered about that, because I was pretty sure I'd done so in the past as well.

Interestingly, it seems that how it's supposed to work now is that the newly joined parcel shows the attributes of the largest of the parcels that were joined, rather than how it used to be (which was as you described). https://community.secondlife.com/knowledgebase/english/managing-your-parcel-r49/ This doesn't answer why it didn't work at all, but I had no idea they'd changed that process.

changing membership w/ owning existing region
Sylvia Tamalyn replied to Bubbahray's topic in General Discussion
Do you mean a Homestead that you got without buying a full private region first? If so, you'd have to give up the Homestead. (If you mean a full region, you'd still be able to keep it.) Edit: I assume if you have a Homestead now and were to purchase a full region as well before downgrading, then you'd be able to keep the Homestead after downgrading. -
How Did Objects Mysteriously Get Placed On My Property?
Sylvia Tamalyn replied to BobCates's topic in General Discussion
What Rowan says is exactly what it sounds like. If the desk has animations, it quite likely has props that rez to go with those animations. You say you have a RP location, which implies that other avatars can enter the parcel and presumably use the furniture. Check the desk's menu (or the creator of the rezzed objects) and you'll probably have your answer. My guess is that some visitors have been playing on your desk. -
The good news is that you can play SL without owning any land at all!

I caught a trad on the water there last night, threw it back, caught it again later. Did you give yours up already, or were there two floating around?
-
I'm going to answer only because I was ordered not to. (Also, you posted this in the wrong place, OP.)

Yep, I'm also doing random rolls, and catching and releasing some really nice spots. After getting that waterfall camper I posted above, I rolled this one last night lol

When can we submit premium plus tickets for Ranch theme?
Sylvia Tamalyn replied to AzureWaves's topic in Linden Homes
Ah, OK, I don't believe you mentioned that previously. -
I am just not into the ranch theme, so decided to use my little prorated Premium Plus upgrade to go shopping abandoned parcels. I chose this one

When can we submit premium plus tickets for Ranch theme?
Sylvia Tamalyn replied to AzureWaves's topic in Linden Homes
Is it possible a person just randomly rolled and got the home you were hoping for before your ticket was reviewed? I've certainly seen that happen before. -
Did I Miss Something? Can Basic Accounts Buy Land?
Sylvia Tamalyn replied to Rufferta's topic in General Discussion
The doors look very Scarlet Creative to me. It's similar to the Maldives beach house. -
Nah, I don't play that game. If you aren't willing to share the price in your ad, I don't bother to log on to hunt it down. I figure there's a reason when a seller wants to keep it under wraps.

Oh, how'd I forget about The Wastelands? This is a great time to be looking, too, with all the new spots opened up.

Agree with the above recommendation. The Mother Road regions are beautiful, though I'll note that I'm pretty sure you can't rez your own buildings there (if that's an issue for you).

Yet Another Disillusioned Mainland Land Owner
Sylvia Tamalyn replied to BilliJo Aldrin's topic in Mainland
Imagine being so proud of ruining someone's view and forcing them to abandon their parcel that you feel compelled to post in the forums to brag about it.- 179 replies
