I assume it was the entire region (I'm at work so can't look in world). They really do go that quickly! But abandonments happen at all hours and every day, and that's the best way to get one IMO.

No, Patch posted in his update thread a while back that the general schedule is M-W-F and he would not be making announcements for those.

So true. I saw them at the H&G show and was totally underwhelmed. If LL had asked me at the time, I'd have said I was giving the whole project a pass. Despite that, I went ahead and got a house the night they were released because I had spare land allowance and I was bored at that moment, but I figured I'd not keep it long. I knew for sure I did not want a houseboat, though, after seeing them at the show. Too small! Too crowded! A couple of weeks later, after seeing what people were doing with them, I got a random houseboat that someone had abandoned. Guess which one I like better now? lol

If you give sufficient information in the AR (name of offender and date, at the very least), LL can find the documentation themselves. It's all logged.

I don't have one for the exact reason @Marianne Little gave: I need the prims on the ground! However, I do have a build platform and skybox over a mainland parcel where I can put my clutter and unpack things. I change clothes wherever, as I don't care who sees my naked hiney.

Hmm, I don't remember, it was during my first year in SL, back in 2010 during the days of epic forums threads that went on for YEARS. Like you, I made a lot of friends here, and by extension at the Forum Cartel hangout (which I learned about here). I guess I found out about the forums from the Dashboard. This was before the introduction of the SL feeds, so really the forums were the place to be and they were very active! I used to post a lot, then when the forum software changed and many of the old-timers seemed to leave, I lost interest as well. I recently got interested again with the release of the new Linden homes.

I would imagine because in a virtual world that bills itself as "Your world, your imagination", the residents' freedom to be who they want to be would be severely hampered if other residents could go around destroying the persona they have created for themselves, whether by sharing RL info about the person, the content of private conversations, or anything else you can think of that a rational person would consider to be private information. IMO, not having such a rule would simply go against the whole basic idea of being able to build and maintain a "second life".

I'd be OK with that rule, since the person whose politics I do not want to "celebrate" has a tendency to turn every event into a campaign rally for himself.

That's what region crossings are for: built-in stops. You can't drive like you're on the autobahn if your car goes flying every few seconds!
