  1. Ah, maybe that's it, I was standing still. But I admit I stood there in my kitchen clicking on things to try out all the various shapes and colors!
  2. I thought that, too, and enabled the selection beam to see if I could recreate what we see in the photo there. I was not able to make it look the same, so I am still wondering what is going on there!
  3. I've noticed the same thing with add-ons I've purchased that I assume are using the textures from the content packs. I find that tinting the add-ons with a light grey (RGB 191, 191, 191 works fine) helps a lot, though it doesn't address the flatness.
  4. Some people do take care to make such a prim look decent, and some just flop a flat green prim down and call it done. I'm talking about the second kind, that truly looks jarring in a neighborhood of beaches!
  5. How interesting! I don't think I've ever seen that happen before!
  6. And to support this point, someone posted less than 30 minutes ago in the General Discussion forum that they just got a houseboat.
  7. Thank you, @Quartz Mole, for that very detailed reply! It's interesting to learn more about how the whole process works, and maybe it will help in general for everyone to understand just why some things simply can't be done the way they would like to see them done.
  8. I wonder what that was? I don't think I've ever seen it... I wonder if I am wearing them, too? lol
  9. I'm not sure, but I don't think derender is an option in the SL official viewer. I use Firestorm.
  10. The Moles and Patch have indeed been harassed in the forums, but also in in-world group chats (as recently as this week), and reportedly in IMs as well. I think that's a large part of why so many people who do have homes lost patience with the ones who have been complaining. The abuse of the people working to build the new homes has been way out of line, and I'm surprised they haven't retreated back to private work areas after some of the behavior I have witnessed.
  11. Yep, as soon as I said here that I was going to! lol (And may I say, the area looks much nicer now...) My list is not so huge as of a few minutes ago, because I just went in and removed a ton of stuff from regions whose names I don't even recognize. I do love to zap things!
  12. I love those moss patches and use them on my beach parcel. They do have a border that shows up in certain windlights, but otherwise they are perfect!
  13. I have never hit any sort of limit, and I have been derendering things since I first started using a viewer that had the feature, years ago. On FS at least, you can pull up your asset blacklist and sort the list so you can periodically remove old stuff from places you don't even remember now. I don't know if doing so accomplishes anything, but I figure it can't hurt for lag, etc., purposes, so I once in a great while go in and remove the oldest entries. (You can see on the list the regions the items are in, so if the items are in an area you still frequent, it's easy enough to leave them on the list.)
  14. If I understand your question, the answer is yes, you will be able to see it in the shop. You are derendering a specific instance of an object, not banning it globally from anywhere you might encounter it.
  15. Wonder how long it will take for people to put some ugly flat green prims down to cover the hilltop parcels? We have a few of those prims in my sandy beach neighborhood and it looks so odd. (Note to self: need to derender them.)
  16. I'm sure people would complain about that method, too.
  17. Derendering entire furniture-filled parcels definitely works great; I have done it many times in the past using the same "open Edit window and drag" method that RaeLee explained. On occasion it will miss one or two items, but those are easily picked up afterward! You just need to be careful with your dragging so you don't wipe out stuff you DO like, though of course you can always dig them out of your blacklist later.
  18. I think that you and the OP are talking about two different tabs in the land box. You are talking about the Access tab, where we are not allowed to check the Allow Group box. She is talking about the General tab, where you can set a parcel to group to allow group members to set home there, etc. We can do that with our Linden homes, we just can't deed (give ownership of) the parcel to a group.
  19. Are you sure it was this thread? I mean, there are a lot of repeats around here...
  20. Oh, now here you go being reasonable, and nipping a perfectly good conspiracy mystery in the bud before we even got started working on it! 😎
  21. That's where they are keeping the bodies of those who perished while hitting F5.
  22. Sure, that's pretty much what InWorldz was when I had an account there. 😛
