  1. Yeah, I stuck it in my "Save Forever, Just Cuz" folder.
  2. Found this old Christmas gown - a group gift - while inventory cleaning. It only comes in with a CI just shy of 600,000.
  3. Is this a laptop? You may be overheating - well you could be overheating on a desktop also, but it is more common on a laptop. Download and install Hardware Monitor. Start it up and then start the viewer. When your computer shuts down and you bring it back up, start the Monitor again and see what it is showing for the MAX temperatures. https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html -- Use the 'Setup English' button on the left side under Download - there is no reason to try the Pro version.
  4. I have found a lot of mid length dresses in my ancient old system/flexi folder. Too bad 99.9% of it looks like crap, so that won't even be helpful when BOM finally makes it around. Sometimes I really miss the days of flexi and when we thought it all looked great.
  5. And apparently when Simone and Last Call went out of business, I decided I needed to buy absolutely EVERYTHING in ALL COLORS - and very little of the older stuff is probably going to look good in BOM (I'm saving a few tops, but not much else). *sigh*
  6. Here is the direct link: https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/
  7. You have to put in a Support ticket to LL, telling them that you think you might have "flat inventory" issue that is preventing you from logging in.
  8. your cache will be empty And it will simply repopulate. The inventory cache can take a while, if you have a lot of items. If so, it is recommended to go to a quite sim - underwater or something - and do random searches in inventory to help force it to load faster.
  9. I'm being lazy at home this Monday morning. Last Friday I decided I needed a mental health day, a day all to myself with absolutely nobody around -- i.e. not a regular weekend day. Thus I'm sipping my coffee and reading the forums, still in my jammies, and loving the fact that nobody is trying to chat my ear off or expecting me to be accomplishing anything or reminding me of the weekend chores that aren't done yet.
  10. I have that hair - and a fruity one too ? Yes, my friends, there is some odd stuff out there
  11. The viewer will typically save the avatar name that logged in last. Just clear the field and type in a new avatar name -- assuming you have already created a new account on the SL website. To create a NEW account, go to secondlife.com - if you do NOT see 'SIGN UP' in the upper right corner, then you need to first Log Out your current account. Then do the Sign Up.
  12. Is that all? I'd say you are falling behind a bit. My Shoes folder current has 742 items in it (granted that includes HUDs for 100 or so, and in most cases it takes 2 shoes to make a pair - only a few do it in a single object). Given the folder count, I have roughly 300 pairs. My Hair folder has 976 items - many of those do include one or more HUDs. Anyway, you get the picture.
  13. I'm assuming you mean "running the mouth constantly"
  14. Time in SL is unlike time in RL - it flows at a much faster pace. Just ask any pair of lovers that have only spent a week together and they'll tell you that it feels like months. Which is part of why the breakups are so rough.
  15. In Firestorm Preferences, Privacy tab - have you also clicked 'Show my profile info in Search results'? Not sure if that will make a difference or not. Another possibility - on your web profile page (https://my.secondlife.com/settings/privacy), the 'About' setting might need to be Second Life.
  16. You've made enough post -- you can change your title to anything you want now. Go to your forum profile page. In the upper right of your cover photo, click on 'Edit Profile'. In the pop up window, type whatever you want in the Member Title.
  17. I decided to do some inventory cleaning - some of the really old stuff that I just chip away at bit by bit. I don't want to just trash it all because I've found some really cute outfits that are Standard sizes but still work and a few older system layers that might work with BOM. Anyway, as I'm digging through this stuff, I've decided I had a major shopping issue in my early days. Basically, if it was on sale and even partially cute, I apparently thought that was good enough to buy it. And if I liked it a lot, I bought it in lots of colors. And in some cases, a sale didn't even apparently have to be a color I would normally wear - I bought it anyway. No wonder I have more clothes than I could possibly wear in a lifetime here in SL. And some of this stuff is really ugly.
  18. Gotcha. I'm pretty sure the Firestorm default is APPDATA/Roaming/Firestorm_x64/avatar-name, but that can be overridden. If you overrode it, you can find the location by starting the viewer and checking preferences (you can do that before logging in) and then look at the bottom of the Network and Files tab. The SL viewer has them in APPDATA/Roaming/Secondlife/avatar-name - assuming that location wasn't overridden. If you've already logged in to the newly installed viewer, you may need to merge files together -- as you'll have a saved "chat.txt" and also have a new one from your most recent logins. Be sure you are not actually logged in when you edit existing files to merge them together.
  19. Upgraded what? The viewer, your computer, your computer OS? Please be more specific of exactly what you upgraded. If you simply upgraded the viewer, without doing a clean install, your logs should still be present. If you wiped out the old install and did a clean install, your logs are gone. If you changed computers, the logs are in your %APPDATA% folder, down in the viewer specific folder and then inside of the avatar name. A computer OS upgrade may or may not have wiped your logs.
  20. Your limit will increase a bit in a few days and then a bit more after a week and so on until you hit your 30-day mark when it will finally increase to the normal maximum. You really don't need to be spending that much money in your first few days here anyway. Spending tons of money quickly is a good way to end up regretting a lot of it later.
