  1. Anyone else having voice issues? Like there is no voice?

Laurence Skytower wrote: Most merchants, yeah...But I did send him a notecard with the purchase orders and the item id's and was told through an IM left when I was offline that it was not his responsibility. BTW...Can anyone tell me......I know the community rules state that no personal information can be shared on the forum pages. But what about store names? I think people should know who they're dealing with. With the attitude I received from this particular merchant, I'd bet another L$1000 that I'm not the first person this store has screwed over. In the real world, when a retailer screws over a customer in this manner, they'd probably get put on blast. EVERYBODY would hear about it. Everybody has the right to know if they're risking their money when dealing with dishonest retailers. IM me the name;-)

  8. Madeliefste Oh wrote: Thanks for the possibility to sign up for a testing program, Brooke. I'm glad to see that you are going to take time to test this new delivery program before you release it for the complete marketplace. To me it looks decent with the alpha on a test server and the beta on the actual marketplace. I'm in doubt about participating or not. On one site I think it's a good opportunity to get prepared for the new system, on the other hand I'm scared to expose my merchandise to possible delivery problems and bugs, I might loose sales or I might get troubles with buyers. I have been in two beta testing programs before and I don't have problems signing a NDA, I had to do this for the other programs as well. But with those other programs I didn't feel I put anything at risk. Actually I hope there are enough people who are willing to take the risk and participate so I can start with using the system when all is solid tested and completely safe to use. They certainly test this on the Aditi grid since it is available for testing purposes anyway:smileywink:
  9. I can format that cell to numerous date types incuding EURO/UK. Wonder why it is not working for you? Maxxi Short wrote: It says "CSV download now works for non-English locales". However, it now seems to assume that we're all Americans! My CSV download for transactions used to output the date and time of the transaction as dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm, so I could just open this in Excel and copy to my master spreadsheet. Now, however, it outputs the date in US format only - so column A of my spreadsheet reads mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm, which won't sort on date in Excel (since my regional setting are for standard date format, not US date format). This is actually a real pain, because there doesn't seem to be an easy way of getting round this - I'm having to insert columns, put a formula in to treat the date as a string, split it by "/" signs and re-arrange the month and date. It had been working just perfectly until now. Any chance of fixing this so it worked like it used to? Maxxi.

Kascha Matova wrote: WeeWillie Wylie wrote: have never used voice...don't like voice...don't need voice..let em learn to type and IM properly and create a personality without a voice..I got a phone I want to talk to someone.. Just my 3.145 cents... and let us all remember the world didn't actually fall apart when they bought in voice...or made the adult continent...or did wind light and raised SL's minimum requirements...or when they messed up the open spaces and homesteads. It was just that a very vocal group told us it would...and yet here we still are. Until the RL economy gets re settled and balanced again stats are not very relevant. The plain and simple fact is...this is about money above and beyond living expenses and RL playing expenses and that amount is low. "Fall apart" is a relative term but as your post was written, I'd have to disagree with it. Voice polarized the community, started witchhunts, started discriminatory practices in which people have been ostracized and barred from places in SL where people have decided that if you don't voice you're not welcome. Petty people who use voice as a crutch have gone out of their way to make "Your World Your Imagination" a farce, and this behavior has cost LL users and diminished the spirit of the place. I do not know of any place that demands you use voice or leave. The way I feel about it is if you want to use voice, fine, if not that is fine too. I find that teaching folks about the "how to do it" phase of SL is much easier on voice. Very few folks RTFM let alone notecards. The new Basic Viewer folks do not have an inventory to put these notecards into and text chat is very confusing for someone who is on sensory visual overload. Text chat including IMs requires multi-tasking ... that is tough to do when you are concerned about how to fly and walk:smileywink: my tuppence:smileywink:
  13. Arwen Serpente wrote: Thank you Brooke for the transcript. I was encouraged to see that the stale shopping cart issue is recognized and planned to be fixed, that was good news :smileyhappy: When the details are shared with Merchants for the Direct Delivery project, will they address whether this "DD" Folder will add to our inventory numbers (I expect it will since it isn't a separate part of Inventory like the Library is)? Here's why I ask:... For the way I work (and this may or may not affect other Merchants depending on their inventory management methods), basically, the DD Folder would add substantially to my current inventory, and due to duplicate naming of items that are in different folders for different purposes, lead to possible confusion and error as I manage my day to day operations. I am also concerned about missing from database issues that could occur... I hope the Commerce Team will be able to address these concerns. Thanks! I am also wondering about the impact to transactions that DD might incur. Now my boxed items are sold on SLM and my dashboard shows a nice little transaction for the top level item. If DD is going to be logged onto our Dashboard Transactions like we see when we "give inventory" in-World, the mind boggles at the amount of reporting. How will the SLM cart delivery look? Are we dealing with a top level BOM that drills all the way down to the last item in the folder? Are the folder simply links to a series of UUIDs that build up to the Top Level? More data needed, please. Show us the flowchart...:smileywink:

  17. We have had a big increase in the new folks dropping into our club recently. They are very interested in what is happening and what SL is all about. We help them as much as possible without the aid of voice [Note: Voice in Basic Viewer is NEEDED for retention and communication] and they are a welcome change.:smileywink: It is hard to hook folks in without being able to give them LMs, freebies and such.
  18. Arwen Serpente wrote: Hi Toy, yes, your suggestion of a Merchant Alt for the DD program is one that I like. The only thing I don't exactly understand is that my items are all no transfer. So how do I transfer them to an alt account and have them be deliverable to someone else? You must change the permissions to full perms, transfer to alt who then must set the correct permissions again. [if this is the way that seems best after we understand how they are doing it] This will not be an easy task.

Broadband Usage FAQs Are there any usage limits for my broadband service? Yes. As of May 2, 2011, AT&T's residential DSL High Speed Internet plans will have a usage allowance of 150 Gigabytes ("GB") per month, and its residential U-verse High Speed Internet plans will have a usage allowance of 250 Gigabytes ("GB") per month. The usage allowance is the amount of data you can send and receive each month. Our household U-Verse account is tied to 3 SL users and at least 1 WoW player and we have NO IDEA how much bandwidth we are using without AT&T tools to tell us. Xfinity may get our biz;-)

Deltango Vale wrote: I guess I live on another planet because it's blindingly obvious to me that the source of the problem is free, unlimited, unrestricted, uncontrolled, wide-open, disposable, anonymous accounts. Perhaps LL should consider having folks reguster within the download of the viewer. I have no idea if this is even possible, but it would certainly discourage spammers;-)
  22. Ann Otoole wrote: I saw a dip in March. Things are improving now. Get the delivery system going. Get us the review notification emails. Give us by item email notifications. Or at least no notifications on free items. Encourage the viewer people to get the avatar physics out ASAP as that will help more than anything else across the board. Ann, how are the sculpt/prim tops/bottoms affected with jiggle, is there breakthrough by the jiggling parts? This might be a boon for non-prim clothing items.:smileywink:
