New Marketplace Function and Final Data Migration From XStreetSL
Argus Collingwood commented on Brooke Linden's blog entry in Commerce
Clarification on Which Ratings and Reviews Will Move Only old reviews and ratings that have not already been migrated will be moved. Existing reviews and ratings on Marketplace will not be affected. You should see your product ratings changing during this migration as individual ratings are moved over from XStreetSL. Response to Deletion Concerns XStreetSL: If any ratings or reviews are missing from XStreetSL, please file a JIRA issue with product URLs and additional details on missing data (or please include JIRA id if you have already filed). Note that the number of ratings is very likely going to be much higher than the number of reviews on XStreetSL, since Residents were able to rate a product without a review in the past. Ratings that do not have a review will be migrated without a review. Marketplace: As part of the migration testing, we will be testing to insure that new ratings and reviews on Marketplace products are not deleted as part of the migration. If you do have an example of this having happened on a previous migration, please provide the product URL and details of what occurred in a JIRA issue (or include a pointer to an existing issue). Migration Flag If you want your ratings, reviews and sales history (including sales dates) migrated, you must have migration set to ON. IF MIGRATION IS SET TO OFF, NO RATINGS, REVIEWS, OR SALES HISTORY WILL BE MIGRATED. If we have added new products, will they "duplicate" if migration is on? I know the ones I have added show in Xstreet as Unassociated Inventory. I have migration turned off and plan to gather all sales/traffic figures from Xstreet separately. I would hate to turn it on and have duplicates appear. TIA & Welcome. Brooke. BTW there is a Merchant Group in SL you might want to join. We would be happy to have your input and direction. Colossus Linden is the owner of said group. It is also open/free to join. -
Best Wishes on your new journey, Jack, thanks for all your hard work and interaction with the many groups you had contact with. Please do not be a stranger! Ciao

Winterfest 2010: Let's Get the Party Started!
Argus Collingwood commented on Delby Linden's blog entry in Inworld
Question: How were merchants invited to participate in the Christmas market? I didn't see any announcements about it -- I would have liked to have been able to at least apply for a position. Thanks! Which Christmas Market? The SLM Winterfest link or the Destination Guide Christmas Market? OP.. let the snowballs fly!! -

What happend to the winterfest land auctions? I haven't heard a word about it. Are they not being held this year? It is being hosted by GOHA ----> "from ice skating to live music—hosted on the Global Online Hockey Association’s six regions." -
Save the Date for Winterfest 2010!
Argus Collingwood commented on Delby Linden's blog entry in Inworld
So.. what is the difference between the Christmas and Winterfest categories? Will I be getting more traffic if I list in the Winterfest category, or keep my items in the Christmas category? And nice to see the link was fixed, and the first items on the front page are by Allegory Malaprop. Good to see she is back. If they are already in Christmas, my advice is leave them there. I say this because I changed categories of some items to Winterfest, and they no longer show in any category browse. They only show if I link directly to them. I have a ticket into LL about this. Happy Holidays -

Help Us Test the SL Web Viewer Beta

Okay I tried it. It gave me no directions on where to provide feedback. Is this the place? You should be getting an email in the account you used to preview this Beta. -
Help Us Test the SL Web Viewer Beta
Argus Collingwood commented on Kim Linden's blog entry in Featured News
What determines if you qualify? Does what browser you have matter? Does what operating system you have matter? If you keep trying over and over, might you eventually qualify? Does logging out of secondlife.com, clearing your cookies, and other such things make a difference in who qualifies? I have been in at least three times and had a blast . Network speed, browser, accessibility of the project might be some of the things not letting you in. I made a Youtube of screen shots of most of the arrival points. Hope you can get a look Suezanne. Great Job, LL! -
Nothing is working. Avatar remains Ruthed. Help. :(
Argus Collingwood replied to Aziraphale Neiro's question in Avatar
Venus Petrov wrote: I am sending you a folder. Wear everything in this folder (just use 'replace' on your avie). Once you have fully rezzed, you can then replace each item with what you would normally wear. Since you did not try this method, it is the only thing left that I can think of trying and it worked for me a couple of weeks ago, also using Phoenix viewer. Keep the folder in case you need it again sometime. Venus, a friend needs the folder. May I have a copy, please? -
Winter Fun in Second Life - Call for Submissions
Argus Collingwood commented on Brett Linden's blog entry in Inworld
Oooooooooooooo nice!! Winterfest returns! I know SLM has a Winterfest Category too but I think the database needs a re-index/refresh so it will pickup all the new items or changed category items. Anyway woohoo!! -
The Second Life Economy in Q3 2010
Argus Collingwood commented on Nelson Linden's blog entry in Featured News
Des said it best: "What will change that, is a sense that our actions here matter, that we as residents by and large are trusted partners, that our equity won't evaporate and that our future won't be gambled upon a post~resident corporate dream which will never, ever come to pass." We are all in this together... -
Back to Basics Technology Improvements

Great News! I hope we get more web-based widgets for our Dasboards that incorporate some of the AU technology. Would love to Blip and Photoshare to it. -
Making Strides to Improve our Customer Support Services
Argus Collingwood commented on Vogt Linden's blog entry in Inworld
Please give Mainland Sim owners a big red Reset Button or let us have Estate Tools and it will reduce my live chat requests to Zero. And I'm betting that over 50% of Live Chats are about resetting a sim on Mainland. -
SL Marketplace is Open and Ready for Business
Argus Collingwood commented on Grant Linden's blog entry in Inworld
Thanks, Grant and the SLM team. I echo Rachel and Ann regarding Office hours and the final migration status. I suggest this post gets closed with a Commerce Discussion link where we can air our concerns rather than throw rotten tomatoes at this announcement. -
Saying Farewell to Avatars United
Argus Collingwood commented on Jack.Linden's blog entry in Featured News
Thank you for the comment Shockwave. Closing down AU is not really about abandoning stated ambitions but should instead be viewed as an effort to focus our resources on improving the Second Life experience for all Residents and to eliminate the brand confusion between Avatars United and Second Life. All AU functionality that we decide to fold into Second Life will be within the Second Life brand. Perhaps porting over verified profiles would be a good way to begin. Migrate them like the products are being migrated to the SLMarketplace. -

Digital Digital wrote: Thank you for those direct links, I kept getting error pages on some of the wiki pages so was having trouble finding working ones.. I hate it when links are broken!! good Luck listing your items, I suggest you list them in both places just to get the feel of the sites. I think IE might hate both Xstreet & SLMarket, so I'm using Chrome to browse and it spell checks too;-)

I have paid 2L$ to a free entrance group I am in. Why?
Argus Collingwood replied to Biancaluce Robbiani's question in Getting Started
These 1L charges are a recent problem, the charge is 1L per "pay/receive liabilities" role and the 1L per person sits in the group account. It has been charged in addition to normal fees and I have opened a ticket concerning it, but no replies so far. http://forums.secondlife.com/showthread.php?t=329255&page=1&pp=15 https://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=118162
