  1. Been online with Beta-Viewer 3.0.1, actually seeing Mesh objects and performance is the same as allways. So, no, don't met that problem.

We dont wait to read the text on the button. click, lil movement, click again http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pie_menu Which only proves my point for using a drop down menu, it's WAY faster for me. A Piemenu, despite what this article says, is to slow. And, if something changes, it is REALLY slow because everyone who knew prvious stuff before by heart, will be completly confused.
  3. Much to the obvious surprise of most Users here, drag & drop into IM's works perfectly in Viewer 2! It's allways astounding how little people know about something they judge! And why people like this cumbersome and disturbing Piemenu is and allways will be beyond me. For decades every piece of software has a right-click drop-down menu, so why should i use something different here ? ps: nothing personal Dresden, you just were the best to reply to
  4. Sookie Perlmann wrote: I got the same thing, u have to uninstall 2, reboot then install 3....howevere for some reason, the icon still showed me viewer 2.....weird huh? The Icon is the same, because it is still called Viewer 2, even though it has a version number of 3.
  5. It seems you forgot to mention that a.) Firestorm is still in Beta (which would explain it NOT working for some) and b.) is missing quite a lot of functions of other viewers (Official and TPV), for example Shadows, 64m Prims , mesh etc. I do not have these problems you speak of (lag, crashes etc.) therefore i continue to use Viewer 2 (or Beta 3 in this case), because it works best for MY enjoyment of SL .
  6. I'm using Beta 3.0.1 and i do not have these problems, so it might be a prefs issue ?
  7. What Rolig said should solve your problem. Another thing to preven this from happening again is, when you log in, wait until your inventory is COMPLETLY fetched before you TP around or, even worse, log off again.
  8. I have a rather old Single Core CPU & a ATi HD3650, and i do not have any problems running SL on Viewer 2 (or Beta 3). I also don't really care about these benchmarks. It's probably nice to have a 6-Core CPU and a quadruple Graphixcard, but a.) this Hardware is too expensive in the first place and b.) i do NOT see my PC as a replacement for a heater.
  9. Err, if you set your wall (Home) to "Nobody", then NOBODY can post on it. What you can see (or post) on other peoples walls, depends on whatever they set it to. That "Home" is just a rather stupid default setting, profiles should default on "About" NOT "Home"!!
  10. Normally when you try to buy lindens inworld and for some reason it doesn't work, you get that amount as a credit in your US Dollar balance (under Account Summary). When you buy Lindens from your browser, that credit will be taken first, so there is no double billing or "lost" money for you. As for the apparent double billing you mentioned, wait a bit. This seems to be some strange function in how the billings works. It should vanish after a small amount of time. (If not, just send a Ticket )
  11. Hmm, can't say that my Viewer behaves like this, quite the contrary even. Large crowds don't slow me down anymore with the new one. For the grey issue, did you disable HTTP Textures ?

SL looks much better on modern hardware. No, really ? Is there a way you will provide me with such a hardware ?

  14. Ok, let me rephrase this then. There is no "Magic Orb" that stops Copybotters! Period! You allready have tools to restrict entrance to your Sim, use them and you will have a lot less "new account" griefers. Banning by IP Adress is a stupid idea, because most ppl have a dynamic IP that changes a lot. It might change every time they log on. And most importantly, different ppl can use the same IP Adress over a period of time. So you ban 1 person who just had that particular Addy at that particular time, and with this, you also ban EVERY OTHER PERSON who uses this addy at a later time! ps: This has nothing to do with insulting you, these are facts. If this is not the answer you want to hear, well ....
  15. Davina101 wrote: Thank You Marianne, I just have the one, that's probably enough for me to keep up with for now. But I did just get a message box telling me that SL automatically downloaded some update. I have been looking for where to turn that off but haven't found it yet. Preferences/Setup -> Download updates manually

  17. Im offizielen Viewer gibt es leider keine Möglichkeit den Skin irgendwie farblich zu modifizieren. Ich kann dir da nur den gleichen tip geben wie Fenimore, versuchs mal mit den Starlight Skins.
  18. Project Windlight Region Viewer 2.7.6 , still the fastest and most stable Viewer for me! 2.8.3 might be an option, but i still have 1 or 2 issues with it. Firestorm is too unstable for me and Kirstens, well lets just say my compy isn't good enough No V1
  19. Regarding allways downloading the newest version, NO! Disable automatic downloads in prefs, and check in the forums before dl'ing a new version. Might save you a lot of trouble As for the other viewers, as many ppl are on SL, so many different opinions are there for these. I suggest, after getting used to SL again, read about them or even try 1 or 2, and find what Viewer YOU are most comfortable with !
  20. Hmm, hard to say then, those 2 are just the ones that really slows the viewer down the most. Without knowing your computer specs, the next guess would be adjusting the max.bandwith (if possible to 1000). Otherwise, you might want to lower down the graphics prefs and then slowly raise them again until you have the best compromise between looks and performance.
  21. Hmm, did you try to adjust the settings in preferences ? The default settings might be what causes this. You might want to lower the settings a bit, especially Anisotrophic filtering and Anti-Aliasing. You can find these under prefs/graphics/advanced ->Hardware.
