  1. There is one, it works with Snapshots of your Outfits and stores them on an external website. Never tried it out though, because it needs RLV and that is only available on a number of TPV's. It's called CTS Wardrobe or something. Also, can't say if it's good or not.
  2. This seems more like some server issues at that time. Since then a lot has happened, server-wise, so you should probably try again. At least for me, my performance has changed to the better lately, although not sure why As for the tweaking. I'm running on a rather old compy here, so yes i had to do some tweaking to get the best compromise between performance and good looks, but i don't have to do that each time i try out a new viewer, the basics are solid now
  3. What i actually meant with switching was, in prefs -> setup, you have the option of using the internal or the browser of your choice. Check the external (your own) browser. The profiles are still dispayed inside your viewer, so don't worry Just would be interresting IF there is a difference.
  4. Hmm, what browser do you use, the internal or an external one ? Try to switch this in prefs and see if there is a change. Also, can you view your profile on the web if you go to : https://my.secondlife.com/curious.zsun ?

Ginny Grau wrote: considering the advantage of using Windlight (and how much more attractive the avatars are with this enabled) why does Linden Labs not just make it automatic for all locations when a person logs on? And if some of the others dont want to see the avatars in a more attractive way they (if there are any) can opt to turn it off Ginny You can In the newer V2's or in Firestorm you can define the settings for yourself as default or you can choose to allways use the Region Settings. Other ppl will allways have the Windlight Settings they specified in their prefs
  6. Another way is , to scroll down in your Teleport History until you find it again, not the best way but eventually you'll find it.
  7. Arya Braveheart wrote: I am not liking the new environment settings. I take pics and used to use the Tuli windlight settings. I now don't have the option to have the sun/moon position at 0.000, which meant it didn't really matter which way I was facing. Please LL, bring back the old settings. Why change a good thing? Arya You can still set the sun/moon position to whatever you like. Look under Environment Editor -> Sky Presets. And, LL didn't change the settings, they just gave you more control over it
  8. HashPipe Uggla wrote: Im pretty annoyed also that they blocked the last working browser version 2-6-9-231165 that would work on my machine. None of the new ones work. Or even install correctly for that matter. After all the money I pumped into LL over the years and I cant even use their software now. Way to go LL. Blocked ? I can still log in with V 2.4.0 if i want to. Just make sure you disable automatic updates and you should be fine
  9. HTTP-Textures seem to be even slower now, with them disabled everything rezzes faster than before. Shouldn't it be the other way around ? Using devolper viewer 2.7.6 (234269) And Inventory is still laggy
  10. Tenaar Feiri wrote: RAM is still increasing for me with the development viewer, BUT it's not increasing as rapidly as it does with the current release of V2. Which is quite an improvement; I'm actually able to play with a V2 viewer on Windows for the first time since late January. EDIT: I could play for 2.5 hours without crashing due to memory overload now, as opposed to my previous 45 minutes. Improvement, but not quite there yet. Yep, definatly an improvement, but not quite there yet. But it seems there is actually someone working on it.
  11. look in your Trash, as long as you didn't cleared it, you will be able to get it back
  12. Yes , Viewer 2 DID improved a lot, in the last few weeks even, so it most likely has not much to do with what you experienced back then For the Music/Media thingie: I have disabled Media so all i play IS music. Media a.) slows down my compy too much, and b.) i simply do not trust ANY media anymore (yes i know there is a media-filter, but see a.) ) And, as Void allready pointed out, if someone doesn't use a particular feature, the overall feeling might change dramatically. I don't build, EVER ! And the occasional editing of a prim doesn't really matter, either I just enjoy my life as a shopper. So, i can't really comment on that issue and have to take your word for it
  13. Wasn't a question really, but thx for trying to clarify Can't say much about the sizes of windows, which allmost all can be rezised. But i disagree on a few things. When i tried out V1 some time ago, i had exactly the same experience in case of the Menu's. All the things i knew from V2 were somewhere else or buried. So this is more a case of what one is used to, i guess I also happen to like the sidebar, because for me, it just works better. Again, a matter of taste And i really have no problem with the color scheme at all, also a matter of taste (btw. i allways found that the default skins for TPV's were really not my taste, especially the default Phoenix skin, red makes me aggressive and i can't stand to look at it for more than a minute). One things though seems to be clear, a LOT of the things ppl complain about here , UI wise, simply are based on what each person is USED to. Meaning, if you change from V1 to V2 or from V2 to V1, there is allways a lot to adapt to.
  14. For some more Formal Suits and Clothing you might want to take a look at Styles of Edo.
  15. Tried out the newest development viewer today ( 2.8.4 (237514) ) and it seems that, while not completly gone, the memory usage has changed. At least for me, it more or less keeps stable in the 800-900k regions. Camming doesn't add to it either Maybe you should try it out and see if it works for you too. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Alternate_Viewers ETA: And it's FAST too
  16. Kobi wrote: Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I wasnt very sure where it should go and this seemed as good a place as any Twice now I have a received an email from Linden labs asking me to follow a link to change my password, the kind you get when you have forgotten it, the problem is I have never requested a new password so think someone must be trying to get into my account, probably by mistake. Is there anything I can or should do about this? Thanks for all replies. Kobi. Report it to LL and trash the eMails.
  17. valerie Inshan wrote: What about Phoenix? Does it crah too? Phoenix is Viewer 1, i don't use Viewer 1.
  18. Apart from this " error " about needing 4clicks to play music (it takes ONE), i never get it why ppl say the viewer is to "obstructive". If i don't need a window, it's closed and IM Tabs are normally (except when i'm actually writing or really watching a chat) minimized. That gives me a totally clear look!! Nothing obstructs my view into the world.

  20. valerie Inshan wrote: Until a corrected version is released, you may want to try Firestorm which is V2 based but runs perfectly: http://www.phoenixviewer.com/downloads.php Which seems to depend a LOT on the Hardware you're using, for me FS crashes way too much
  21. Did you try to adjust the Graphic Settings in Prefs ? You might want to lower them 1st and then rise them up again until you are satisfied with the performance.
  22. Rhett Elan wrote: I just got a new high end laptop, windows 7 64-bit, 4 core, 8 threads intel i7 CPU, 8 gb of ram, nvidia gt 445m with 3 gb of video memory. I did post a question for support for the graphics card, since it is not recognized by he viewer. But besides that, I really think that linden should concentrate more on developing a real 64-bit viewer for windows. Let's face it, the 32-bit is an old technology and is really faced out. Instead of adding useless gadgets like social network links and web profiles concentrate 1st on a solid viewer which takes advantage of the new technology and graphics cards. If you look at the current system requirements, windows 7 64-bit is not even supported. Give me your thoughts and maybe we can wake up some developers. By the way, there is/was already a jar out for this for 2 years now. Started with a request for Vista 64-bit support. Well, apart from me seeing no real advantage of having a "pure" 64bit Viewer, why bother ? It would be called Viewer 3 (or whatever) and all the (same) ppl would go into a rage why LL is doing such a "stupid viewer" noone uses, TPV's are sooooo much better etc., etc. blah blah If i were LL, i wouldn't .
  23. Azah Tabor wrote: Hey all.. OK, I would like to start this off by saying that this is NOT a post that condemns the 2.x style viewer, but it is more a question regarding the old 1.23 and alike viewers.. I use the 1.23 as do a lot of those I know, and we can not understand why all the best stuff is coming out for the 2.x viewer(meshing and such) and not for the 1.23 style. Most of Us can not afford/ do not have high end computers and I know that the 2.x uses more than the old 1.23. My personal reason for not using the 2.x is because I am too used to the old style and do not like the layout of the 2.x nor the functionality of it. I send this post out hoping that there are like minded people out there still using the old 1.23 style that feel comfortable with it but still wish to be able to use some of the newer items that has been placed into the 2.x viewer. Meshing being the main point as I know a lot of in-world business's will be moving from sculpted items to meshing. All thought and comments are welcomed Azah Tabor The reason for it that most stuff isn't featured in V1 styled Viewers, is, that they simply don't support the code for it. Some TPV developers try to implement as much as they can, but i guess they never will be able to backport ALL of it. I use V2 because it has ALL the features I want, and there are some things there NO V1 supports, for example multiple layers, the multiattachments are simply only a bad compromise for me. I HATE the Pie-Menu!!! And I do like the UI much better and find it easier to operate, but that is MY opinion. Ohh, and about the "High-End" Compy's, i run it with a good old single core CPU, so that argument isn't really valid.
  24. Happy Rezday On a more serious note, i hope these "reorganized webservices" get rid of this strange Inventory Lag, that plagues V 2.8.
  25. I do not have the probs with Alpha Layers, but the "Inventory Stuttering" is indeed a serious bug. Guess we have to wait till LL fixes this (hopefully VERY soon) and use an older version until then
