    Imagine if the PRS sent investigators into SL...they'd end up running through lag in Freebie Galaxy with half their inventories attached to their heads, listening to "We Are Family" and trying to work out which Bloodlines recruiter's 'the DJ' πŸ™‚

    I would say that if you are worried about the artist not getting their cut and you would feel morally wrong by streaming without checking the licence - don't do it. But otherwise, sure πŸ™‚ There is no way anyone is going to log into SL to check up on clubs, or run up the cost and effort of trying to track you down, not knowing if you even have any money to pay them. Also, a few clubs require DJs to have their own streams, so if there are 12 different DJs playing there in one week, how is anyone going to make sense of who plugged in when and played what? It's up to you of course, but if you want to DJ but are worried about getting into trouble, it won't happen. Nobody even gets into trouble openly streaming sets and sharing their RL details on Twitch or FB Live (though YT usually cuts a stream off if it detects copyrighted music...).

    Yes, I had a very good friend on SL who died. We swapped RL addresses (she was in the US) and posted each other birthday gifts in RL (both Geminis β™Š) and even talked about meeting one day. We had loads of spooky RL coincidences too… She never mentioned she was seriously ill ☹️ But looking back, she would have rather have jumped under a bus than admit to being upstaged by dodgy cells πŸ™‚ I never really thought about a SL ceremony or memorial…after her parents contacted me and told me she'd gone, I just felt numb and was unable to enjoy SL at all, so I quit for a while. I didn't know them so well, but some people in various builder groups and clubs would stop logging in, then I'd hear a while later they'd died. Also, the guy who used to dress as Batman and do the RFL events, if anyone remembers him (from around 2011-2013?) Somebody told me he died too... Death sucks πŸ€œπŸ’€

    Relief for me too! πŸ˜… This happened to me twice this week, walking around a (busy) sim, and in a car. Forward and backwards worked fine, but I couldn't move left or right. But after a relog, everything was OK.

    Just my opinion…but I think if people stay away from clubs because they feel obliged to tip but are saving their money for tier or MP, the lost traffic will have a worse effect than a missed 50L or 100L would! And just because somebody doesn’t tip on one night, it doesn’t mean they never will… If you’re a DJ, manager or host, you surely don’t expect everyone who comes in and out of the club during a 2-hour shift to tip anyway? Or you’ll be disappointed if you do! Me and my friends would sometimes hop around 7-8 sims in one night. If I’d tipped staff at each one, I would have hit $0L fast BUT…I do think it IS a faux pas to request songs from the DJ if you don’t intend to tip. Especially if the songs you want are a completely different genre to what they're playing

    Nooo... you don't need to apply for anything if you want to DJ on SL. I can't think of a single SL DJ who had to do this, or any SL club that needed a 'licence'. Trust me on this.

    Yes, it's annoying 😬I won't contact to ask if I'm removed, as I don't want to hound people. And maybe I am annoying, lol. But then I don't want people to think I've removed them...actually, I haven't removed anyone in my all time on SL.

    It's so weird seeing old chats and emails from February 2020. Knowing this thing was happening, but not having a clue how much it would change everything and affect everyone 😐

    There was a pub venue called The Drunken Drow where you'd see fauns, elves, centaurs etc, though regular humans too. And a mermaid in a tank πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈ But I think it closed quite a few years ago.

    Yes, we still have to wear them. The government hinted that social distancing will be scrapped on 21 June but I'm not sure whether that means masks will go too. I'm going to be cautious and wear mine a little longer, if so.
