  1. I'm guessing this event is a lot more aimed at the ladies with all that pink and hearts. Well at least I get to keep my money and save it for another day.
  2. I'm pretty sure that the interests tab was dropped simply because it is irrelevant due to..... 1) Most people never looked at it or even knew it had existed 2) Profiles can (and should) contain all that info in the About / 1st Life tab
  3. I just use my clothing folder for clothing - it has subfolders for accessories, footwear etc. so I know where to find stuff. Bodies are all obviously in the body folder - subfolders set up for each mesh body I have. I think that HUDs to do the "work" take far more time and effort to setup than they are worth in the end.
  4. It is poor design and lack of forethought on behalf of the designers of that database. They should be using the UUID of the avatar and not the name of the avatar. They can then use LSL calls to return both the avatar first name, last name and display name so no need to manually update anything when it changes (though display names might be best avoided thanks to the use of creative fonts that will probably result in characters that make totally no sense). I understand that the needs of a database can change over time - I designed and managed one for fifteen years that grew and grew far beyond the original idea as managers added more and more "nice to haves" to reports data to be stored. In the end I had to totally rewrite and migrate the data over in order to have efficient indexed key fields. The same probably would be best for SL databases that have hard coded names as their key fields. Yes it will mean downtime but that can be prepared for and in the long run it is the way to go.
  5. Hi there @Dot Dakota - you have some great ideas there but this feedback is for the actual forums themselves and how they might be improved. For ways to improve the viewer and the marketplace search your best bet would be to raise a JIRA for each improvement.
  6. Linden Realms and their payouts were never designed to be seen as an income stream for anyone. The amount of time that you spend there is valued at way more than you can get back. It's a token payment. As for premium being around a long time - I can remember it being around when I started and that was in 2005. You even had to pay for alts back then too!
  7. I'd add to this that probably the best way to get a good price on land is via the land sale auctions - as long as you have patience.
  8. I would suggest the Relay for Life - they should have an in world base even when the relay is not on.
  9. Honestly I'd not bother wasting your L$ on events or classifieds - nobody really looks at them due to the stupid amount of spam and fake "events" that are listed just to get traffic.
  10. I am not aware of this option - can you kindly explain how a person sets the maturity rating of their profile?
  11. You know that's not actually how key loggers get onto your machine? You need to click and then install/run software - unless you have seriously compromised the security settings in your browser of choice.
  12. Profiles that contain content that is not considered "General" will find themselves rated as moderate or adult and will not show in searches unless moderate and/or adult content is ticked. Profiles are automatically moderated by some form of word match - for obvious reasons we are not actually aware of what these words are. It should be noted that only the bio and 1st life text seems to be included in this automated text moderating. Images which violate the general rating but are in profiles can be reported in the normal matter.
  13. Assuming that the people who created these automated avatars have followed the rules they will have registered them as a scripted agent. Personally I see nothing wrong with having that scripted agent status appended to the account data down in profile.... for example Resident No Payment Info on File Scripted Agent However something in my gut tells me that a great many of the avatars we see in world that are either just standing around (mostly in a skybox) or otherwise not acting like a human is in control of them are automated avatars that have not been registered as such. As LL do not publish the scripted avatar status on the profile it makes is hard to report violations of them not being registered too.
  14. Go to the website and click on account and then change membership plan.... then look for the really, really, small and almost hidden downgrade to basic membership at the top right
  15. This would be a negative effect. How would these hypothetical rigging bones interact with the rigged body? Which deformation to the skeleton would have priority? What incentive is there to have yet another rigging system added for clothing developers to cater for in addition to the many that are already out there? Ideally a decent rigging skeleton would have been introduced before mesh exploded onto the scene so that (again hypothetically) any clothing would have fitted any body. Alas this did not happen and it is now too late to try to throw a sticking plaster over it and try to achieve consistency.
  16. What other data can there possibly be? They only have access to that which is in your profile. They cannot access any of the information about your account data on the website. People need to step back a bit and be a bit less dare I say - paranoid.
  17. I have always worked on the basis that there should be nothing in my profile that I do not want a complete stranger to know about me. I also make sure not to have any personal (i.e. relating to the real life human being not the pretend avatar) in the profile. Profiles for fictional avatars are not deemed to be personal information as they do not contain information clearly relatable to a living human being. Unless of course you have decided to add such information to your profile and if so then you need to take responsibility for throwing around your own personal information.
  18. Try Vista - they have loads of AO's and you can purchase individual animations from each which you can then drop onto the Firestorm AO.
  19. You are paying for tier of 8192 and the next step down is 4096. You are actually using 7393. A tier of 4096 with the premium plus land allocation of 2048 is not enough to maintain your current land holdings so you will not be able to reduce your tier by the $9 level. Tier is always billed in addition to membership premium fees.
  20. I'd honestly say that there is no best body be it male, female or other lifeforms. It's all down to personal aesthetics, how well supported for shopping for clothes that you will probably never wear, and skins.
  21. Premium plus comes with 2048 sim of land included in the price so you can adjust your land tier level to take into account of that and depending upon what level you are it it may reduce.
  22. LL went to a 1:1 aspect ratio with the new (old) profiles and FS followed suit with the most recent update so the old 6:4 aspect pics look a bit squashed yes and will have to be redone
  23. When you say it only effects you do you mean that your friends see their own display names just fine but you do not? If they all do not see them and cannot change them then what viewers are they using? Are they using web profiles in the viewer or "legacy" profiles? You might want to raise a JIRA with all the details assuming you are using the LL viewer and not a TPV. UPDATE - are you 100% sure you have "View Display Names" ticked in preferences? If not then you will not see display names and not have the option to change display name.
  24. There used to be (and indeed still may be but I did not look) an item for sale that you would Rez and then add in the UUID of the avatar(s) to track. You then had a web url to follow that showed you a weekly view with the avatars online and offline times. Now that was creepy!
