It's placement is likely a marketing move. Put it where people will see it, they'll visit it, see how nice it is.. then wonder, and learn just how to get a place there(premium membership). Brings in $$$ for LL. So far it's been working.

I am seriously hoping they are going to copy/paste those regions a few times as seen here, because those regions(and San Jocoso) are my favorite regions and i'd love to live on their likeness. If luck would allow me to land on one, that is.

I actually have no issues with the sizes of the houses either, and I come from using a Maven Homes house. They are appropriate for the amount of LI you get, much moreso than the old Linden Homes(which were too big). Many people on SL are use to things being huge, and I can't blame them, but once they start experiencing a normal height on an avatar, they may realize just how big everything else is..

Yes, the new homes are allowed to have a skybox above 2000m, no lower.

The mainland has plenty of that. Plenty of empty and unused "that", at that.

I believe Abnor once asked people to do this as well.. people either ignored it or just didn't want to. I'd like this as well, though(I also now have one).

They actually handled it pretty well. This batch went so fast because MAAAAAANY more people knew about the homes this time around than the first. Demand is very high. I'm sorry you missed them, as a lot of people did if they were sleeping, at work/at school, out, etc. If they waited to have many more, we'd be waiting a lot longer. It took them a month to make those 709 released today. The first was something between 2000-3000(and they had been working on them for many months.. like 8-10?). I was in your boat, so to speak, until Sunday when I finally lucked in to the house roulette. It sucks to wait, and I really feel for those stuck having to do so, but it'll get easier I think with the next batch.. estimates say something like a month-ish from now if it's anything like these ones.

The inside of my house is as done as it's going to be for now. Phew! I threw myself in to one of the smaller spaces to keep myself from going nuts. All I need is something on my back patio, but other than that I have 60-70 prims remaining. 😃 I'm pretty happy with it, especially considering I had to work with what I already had, much of which I bought with no regard to LI in the past(as I didn't need to worry about it with 2.7k LI). Also please don't mind my window box plants going through windows. I wanted to use something other than the Whats Next ones everybody uses. =x Foyer Kitchen/Family Room Family Room Bedroom Closet

Guys, keep trying. Patch mentioned them going out in "waves". They didn't all come up at once. If you can't teleport to one you get, the region may be under a restart, as some of them are restarting atm.

Yeah, the sim I ended up in is a little less laggy than some of them. I really only ever see maybe 1 or 2 other people ever on this sim. I just really like trees and a "cozy" feeling. I might grow to like it though, so who knows!

I'll likely play the game when more houses rather than houseboats are released. The area my current house is in feels a bit too "open", but pickings are far too slim to chance it right now.

At first the houses went up almost immediately, then they took a few hours to go up, but recently heard of houses going pretty quickly so.. not sure how easy that'd be to do when it seems pretty random at this point.

I don't think this is allowed, unfortunately. "*Residents must use one of the houses provided. Modification of the house itself beyond what is built into the controls is not possible. Additional buildings or structures are allowed as long as they are in theme and meet the height restrictions." I don't know if this really fits in "theme". I could be wrong, though.

Appearance-wise perhaps, but it won't be until they've made sure everything is set and working properly.

Yep, there's been 1 or 2 on pretty early over the last week or so.

There was one who AFK'd as they didn't leave when the others did yesterday evening. It could possibly be a new one though, as the one I remember seeing is no longer where they were, nor do they appear to be online.

I do the same as Quiet, so long as it's a copy item.

I did this, just for fun, and I about died laughing at how incredibly bad it looks. There are a few designers out there though, that I think go by this rule, because their heads are huge with leeeeettle(little) bodies.
