  1. As of this moment, the bike is still 50L at the Consignment store. I just went and grabbed it myself. It'll be right behind you when you land.
  2. Oh, i'll have to try this when my boyfriend gets home. If this is the case then hey, I redact my remark on privacy not being 100% with these orbs. Edit: Confirmed!
  3. As Cindy said, you'll have to watch for the announcement of more to be released, or refresh the home select page and hope you get lucky.
  4. Edit: It's confirmed that you can't see players within the parcel until you're x meters away. I redact my original statement and confirm these actually are then pretty safe for privacy and a good way to go.
  5. I guess the grid hasn't updated for me as there are still no boats to be found there on my game. Exciting news, though! My guess would be next week.
  6. 15 seconds is plenty for the size of the parcel. Now will be the weeding out time for the current orbs lying around.
  7. Yeah, they still have a lot of new people coming on for these houses, and still many to seat. Besides, they already said it's Linden "Homes" when people were bringing up wanting a full-fledged airport, which also resulted in the airstrip. Maybe if they have room after all the houses and such are in I can see them doing this, but atm they have bigger fish to fry. A couple of things here and there probably wouldn't hurt for rp purposes, but it sounds like people are asking for a whole town.. On what Whimpsy said about the sounds, PLEASE auto-restrict. Also please do something about Media. I cannot tell you how many homes I walked passed in the last few days that had porn videos shown on the tv's inside in full-view of the windows. =/ Isn't there a way to make it so those off-parcel won't see these? Because I was definitely in the middle of the street and not on those parcels.
  8. They are likely getting ready for the new orbs. They said some of the access things will be changed.
  9. Those of us without(and those still trying) thank you! I understand some people use their alts quite often, and those ones grabbing one doesn't hurt, but if you only log on an alt maybe 2 days a week.. give those who main(and are on every day) a chance, please.
  10. The sims only have something like 13k prims total. Imagine the prims everybody would get if it were a full prim. Overall though, they did do a very awesome job at giving the illusion of space on a size that would look tiny most anywhere else.
  11. Oh I have nothing against walls per say. I did see somebody used a prim wall, but left it off full bright and textured it with a pretty decent bush texture. This looked fine to me. I have everything against the overly stretched, default wood texture/bad plant texture, set on full bright, lit-up-like-vegas walls or houses in general. Tbh I think the biggest things are full bright abuse and those few who hopped from mainland but dooon't quite get it yet. They may still be in the habit of using tall walls or screens, so i'm hoping they catch on and it goes back down.
  12. The neighbors and potential eyesores is why i've stopped trying for now and will wait for new ones. I'm seeing an increasing(albeit slowly) amount of "ugly" seeping in when wandering. Or what i'd deem ugly; and feel that most(not all) who'd abandon at this point are probably running from an eyesore.
  13. I'm looking forward to those boats coming up because of the anticipation of traditional houses opening up. I love the ocean and all, but I don't want a houseboat.
  14. I guess we can't edit previous posts after a while, haha.. Well, here's another one. Phinney: Small courtyard-esque area with two 2-person small tables. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Phinney/174/206/27
  15. Considering the signs in the background on the left, i'd assume this was from the showing of the homes at the Home and Garden event. They did have this there, but i've not seen anything of the sort on my wanderings(i'm sure somebody would of brought it up by now if that were the case).
  16. Well, this has come along since I last saw it.
  17. Perhaps even a "small airport" could make due. Personally i'm eh on airports myself.. and planes now after an incident exploring the new areas and somebody in a plane coming down to try and push me around. However you do see small airports irl that are maybe a small building and a single airstrip. Overall I think anything more than that is a huge waste of space and resources. It's not like we have huge 700 series planes that need larger airports. The flying community actually seems pretty tiny in the grand scheme of the population. I have never once seen a single person at any of the airports on the mainlands, even.
  18. Came upon a couple of things today. Will add more as I find them. Fisherman's Drop: Nice little spot with a couple of picnic table and some benches. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Fishermans Drop/227/206/33 Peachtree: Little inland beach area with some chairs, umbrellas, tubes, and sancastles http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Peachtree/66/149/23 Valleyside: Pool Area http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Valleyside/81/209/35
  19. Unfortunately overpriced just as Disney is. The earlier houses at least were built pretty poorly, but went for half a million. At least the Linden homes are affordable, haha.
  20. I don't know if it's necessarily related, but the small estate I rent at actually had 4 of it's 8 1/4 regions go up for sale in the last week or two. Could just be funky coincidence, but the new Linden Homes are pretty darn nice.. but it's also the "new" thing. Give it some time until the honeymoon phase wears off and we'll see what happens.
  21. It's all good, It was always baffled when that'd happen with mine as well, now when I see positioning like that with the stirrups, I know it's a shoe base.
  22. Pssst, take off your shoe base. I've also been exploring on horseback, and seen MANY people on the bikes mentioned here. 😃
  23. As I am somebody who lives in an old, unkept town irl, "boring suburbia", as long as it's nice looking, is a welcome thing for me. Also, as Luna said, being as it's something I will likely never have given I don't exactly come from a family of privilege or live in the land of opportunity, it's more appealing to me. We all have our likes and dislikes. I've met plenty of people who are tired and hate all the "tropical" land in SL, but I absolutely love it.
