You may wait a while. Marketing people are not known for 'soon'. Right now no one knows how this will shake out. I want to convert to BoM to get the lag benefits, but the complexities of the different marketing approaches of the vendors is overwhelming. I understand the technology, but I'm not convinced the creators understand the market.

In another thread a CSR for a skin supplier is bemoaning having the run around explaining BoM to customers. Well tough luck buddy, the whole thing is a marketing mess! Rule 1: No demo, no sale.

One thing comes to mind. The physics shape is scaled by the uploader to match the mesh. So you MUST have vertices in the physics that match the vertices of the extremities of the mesh.

Glad you agree there is no information out there. It says in the availability thread in this forum that xyz has BoM stuff, but there is no way of knowing which stuff. I know exactly how much time and effort goes into product design and manufacture. It's the marketing I am complaining about.

Then why or why or WHY isn't there ANY information in store? I am not buying anything until I can prove they will work. Been there lost my shirt before.

Yes it is Skin Creators. There is No, as in ZERO information on the vendors in world on in MP to tell you if they include a system layer for BoM.

And could you tell BEFORE you bought them that they had System Skins and were BoM ready? That's my main point. Lack of any info. When we went to Mesh we had a logo on the ads - for this - Nada.

Ya, it's a mess. It's not really ready for mass release yet, as none of the skin suppliers have any information available apart from 'soon'. ('Soon' - a four letter word in Second Life)

Okay, I give in! Short of buying a new skin, how do you know if the skin you like is going to contain a system layer in the tone you want? And how do you know what it will look like on your BoM compatible (e.g. Lelutka) head? I ain't buying anything until I know what it will look like. P.S. I spent an unhappy hour zipping from store to store, and found no mention of Bakes on Mesh anywhere. Ditto time searching on MP.

Where did you get Glam Affair BOM skins? I looked at every section of the Glam Affair store and there is no mention of BoM anywhere. Is it a secret?

Sorry if this has been asked before but, do any of the skin suppliers offer a system layer designed for the Maitreya Lara body? All the ones I have tried are really designed for the system toe-and-finger-less body, and although they are okay, they screw up round the toes and fingertips.

I decided it meant: "we're working on it, every time we have to answer the questing 'When will it be ready?' we stop for a week, then start work again." This is the approach I always took with Marketing and Management when I was a programmer. So 5 weeks is quite good!

I built the new 6.3.2 on Archlinux - works well, and the sim crossings seem better too (as well as the BoM). Maybe I need to test dropping the BoM from my helicopter?

Built it on Archlinux and it works beautifully. I think the sim crossing issues are better too.

My alt was over near Lagissaria the other day and found a water sim that I could not get into with a yacht. The sim crossing was just too slow. So, using my premium powers, I started a support chat and the the Lab rebooted the sim within a few minutes. Problem solved. I recommend everyone report bad crossings to the Lab - especially if you are paying $99 a year. If they have to reboot all of the Blake's sims 5 times a day, they will soon realize they need to fix the underlying cause. Bitching here is fun, but not productive.

It's a play on the well known jocular phrase 'for all the tea in China', which is praise for Chinese Tea. There was no intention to criticise your culture. You can retaliate with a joke about the sunshine in the UK if you like.

Until Firestorm updates it is all a waste of space anyway. Who wants to walk about looking like an advert for colored toilet paper to everyone else? I am NOT using the SL Viewer, not for all the Bakes in China.
