Has anyone worked out how to change the switches yet? I clicked everything, but no go. In the end I just drove through the other train.....

I saw an old guy in SL the other day (old as in 'he had two names'...) called 'Generally Offcourse'. And I thought 'Linden in disguise'.

I voted 'Sad'. Just wanted to even things up a bit.

I am an avid CTS Wardrobe user. 1692 items in it, all sorted with loads of tags - especially good for shoes. However, this doesn't mean that my SL inventory is in great shape, around 50,000 items, and that is AFTER the purge which put almost everything into prims (see below), so I have one prim called SAFESTORE that has all the old stuff in it. PRIM store Only do this with copy items. Rez a prim - drag a lot of stuff you want to keep, but not clutter your Inv, into it. Give it a good memorable name, nice faces, all that stuff. Take the prim into inv. Rez it again and check that everything is in it, and take it back into Inv! (I was once caught 'cos something didn't move as expected) Then delete the items you put into the Prim from Inv. DON'T lose the Prim! (If it doesn't contain any no-copy items you can make several copies.) Okay, you can do it with no-copy items if you understand why, but you have to take more care 'cos the Prim Store becomes no-copy too. Which means you have to trust SL not to lose that one copy.... In the picture you see my Store of Stores, 'cos I do a clean up every year or so.

I have a male alt for checking I made the doorways and stairs big enough. About all I can think a male is good for....

Punctuation to emote is okay (OK), it's using U to mean me that I can't stand. U can use it for u, but don't use it for me. Instant block in-world (both).

Just tried, with an alt, the new SLV (hate the SLV) and the new Slink Redux hands. I discover you need an alpha for the body leaving the hands. Not supplied by Slink, 'cos you wouldn't need it with their body, but I am using Lara (which I will NOT be parted from). Still a few wrinkles to be ironed out before I spend a bent farthing on my main Avi.

All my alts represent all my real life genders. Also, you should know that while I am happy to <expletive deleted> with your mind, I don't wish to <expletive deleted> with your avatar.

I looked out of the front window of my house, over the five or six parcels between our beautiful low LOD small texture few script place and the sea. And discovered someone had blocked the view three parcels away with a 64m high photographic box that they now hide in. It is so hideously ugly and offensive, I cannot imagine why the TOS don't allow a complaint about it, but apparently if LL are getting paid they don't care. So I de-rendered it and all their works, found the owners name and banned them. So perish all that do such offensive things. Don't get even, de-render, block and ban.

I don't have a big list. And I regularly clear it anyway. Everyone needs a second chance now and then - and the ones who need three seem to get bored and wander off...

I apologise. I keep forgetting that some people make a living from SL. For me it's just a hobby.

Ya, well, I read it. Decided you were a lot cleverer than me, and richer too, since you use Maya, and that was that. The sarcasm isn't really all that helpful, which is a pity, because most of what you say is worth reading.

I don't use the 'friends list', except for my partner. Reason: Log-in, chorus of 'Hi, How are you?' messages, usually before your butt has rezzed. The one remark in RP that will get you an instant block/de-rezz is 'add me!'. Most don't even say 'please'!

Thank you all for your very interesting replies to my serious question. I still don't understand, but at least I now know. I don't ban/kick or anything, visitors to my parcels. But I am a strong supporter of block/de-render, maybe I just don't see them any more....

I just don't see it. It's not like an intruder can steal anything, and they can watch from outside by camming in. So what do you lot want an <expletive deleted> security system in SL for? I think it's just for your feeling of POWER over other people passing through.

How do you party with all the Lag?

To be quite honest, once I got there I couldn't find anything, never mind 'my way around'. Maybe I'm just too thick for it.
