  1. I'm just hoping I can change it's name back from B-Lag-issaria sometime too. Otherwise I can see no point in going there. I just wish the T&Cs for the mainland stopped the cretins putting up zero-delay security orbs and those terrible photoboxes - that is one of the things LaggyLabs got right in B-Lag.
  2. Mainland is often a whole lot less laggy than B-lag-issaria, too.
  3. Sounds more like the connection than the viewer to me. You are not trying to do SL through a VPN, by any chance? I tried it once, and got something like what you describe.
  4. Is there a video of that? I don't have time to read it....
  5. Oh, yes, I know about that. But it's always helpful in these threads to complete the list. Then it won't become next year's necropost.......
  6. I was thinking of making a very simple wall in mesh to cover up something I can't change in-world. The first thing to decide is how to get a perfect measurement of the existing structure out to Blender. My usual method is to place 0.01sq prim cubes at strategic points, link them all together, and export the linkset as a collada. I have to remember the actual corner of each prim that is the 'vertex of note', but this works quite well. I used to use flat thin prims to actually cover the in-world object exactly, but then you have the issue on large work of looking very closely at two or more places at once. But how would you do it?
  7. The other way round. I want sliding across a sim boundary to be as smooth in SL as it is in RL (and not get logged off half the time). Getting logged-out in RL really sucks.
  8. Thank you everyone. I am so glad I asked. Your replies have been most instructive.
  9. The outside cylinder would have to start above head-height though.... Otherwise I'd never be able to get in.
  10. I'm making a very detailed spiral staircase in Blender 2.8. I use the array modifier for the steps using a circle as the Object Offset, with a Constant Offset in Z. All well and good. But now we get to the physics. I could make a simplified step and edge, and use the same array modifier, but that will end up with 3 planes per step, and there are 19 of them! Okay, I can apply the modifier and simplify, but maybe I am missing a trick here. What would you suggest?
  11. Sorry for the noise, it was the Lelutka Bento head HUD.
  12. Hi, I have an alt who always logs in in a fixed pose. I've use Firestorm. I have to do a Avatar Health->Stop Animations to give the Firestorm AO to run. What do I do to get rid of this? (I knew once, but have forgotten) Thanks.
  13. Probably not. The most likely scenario is that when you abandon your present place you will miss the sale of the new ones. My advice is to wait a year, this mad rush will all calm down. The new homes are quite nice, but you could buy a 1024 plot on mainland somewhere and put up your own, even nicer, home - and do it with much less stress. If you buy up to 1024 sqm, it is included in your Premium Fee.
  14. Revelation! I was thinking about it backwards. I thought the cap was on the number of offline IMs sent as emails. But the cap is on the number held in-world. So you get an infinite number of emails, but only 80 (now) stacked in-world. It's not IM's sent to you offline, but IM's held for you while you are off-line. Doh! Now, how to turn it off... (not the emails, the remembering) Thanks Wulfie!
  15. All the replies are interesting. I just never felt the need. If I like someone enough to friend them (Partner plus 3, at last count) I usually give them my protonmail account for privacy from spying misgovernments and corporations.
  16. Oh so mainly for commercial work. Okay that explains why I never needed them.
  17. Been in SL for a few years (7+) without feeling the need for an offline IM. What are they? Why would I want one? And now I can have 80 a month what can I do with them? (Physically impossible answers will be ignored).
  18. Sorry, they are in COBOL, and no one understands that any more. Besides which, they are not open source.
  19. But, but, but..... The MOLES need a pay rise!
  20. So they DO listen! Amazing response. My basic alts will be pleased....
  21. You have to understand @ItHadToComeToThis I do this for fun. Almost everything I say in the forums is a joke, or at least said with tongue in cheek. 😉 I also, unlike many people, don't care how much it costs. 💲 It's worth every dollar to get away from reality for a bit every day. 😈 Reality is full of people who tell me what to think, what to say, what to do.... Bit like SL forums really, but here I can happily say '<expletive deleted> off'. 👊☝
  22. As @ThorinIIsays, the Windows version 12.1 64bit runs under Wine okay. Bit slow. About how Firestorm Windows 64 or the SLV runs under wine - which I have to use to get HAVOK uploads of complex mesh - okay for the upload, terrible to play. Why is the Catznip wiki so terribly out of date? (no answer required, I know how hard it is)
  23. Has anyone managed to compile Catznip to run on Linux? I was thinking of trying it, but there are no pre-compiled Linux downloads.
  24. I'd settle for 3 years on the first. That would be an improvement.
