The butt has grown quite a lot, both in width and volume. For us skinny folks that's kind of a big deal. Before: After: Not sure if there's such a thing as a butt width deformer, or if I'll have to push the hips in and then use a stronger thigh gap deformer to keep the legs from clipping into each other. I do like the flank profile being smoother though.

My partner and I started re-furnishing the bedroom a little while back, and then we got side-tracked by Christmas decorating. We started running into the LI cap of the house though, so as she wasn't around tonight I figured I'd do something about the wainscoting. Messed around with Blender for a bit, and then I did a bit of work on some old textures I had lying around, and suddenly the bedroom wainscoting went from 24 LI for the old mesh panels I'd bought to 3 LI. Still might need to tinker a bit more with the textures to get the tone just right, but on the whole I feel like it went pretty well! Also need to figure out what goes on the wall over the bed, and some more knick-knacks ..

Europeans got rid of a lot of holidays in the aftermath of the reformation, in England it went from 95 to 27 in 1536 (plus the 52 Sundays, which of course remained). As a somewhat unfortunate side-effect that meant 68 more work days per year (which is largely the basis of the statement that people today work a lot harder than medieval peasants - church-going was also very different back then, many of the celebrations included feasting and people were served beer; of course back then beer was considered a 'gift from God', but apparently he must have had a change of heart?). Giving thanks at the end of the harvest season absolutely was (and to some extent, still is) a concept that's being observed, but it varies from place to place. It's pretty interesting though, that the Puritans in Europe wanted to get rid of all the holidays (minus Sundays, of course) - and then they go over yonder and a few centuries later there's now a feast that nearly rivals Christmas in its excess. .. Must be Capitalism, or something. Shrugs.- 23,459 replies

Then I shall blame it all on you. Also, when are you taking me clothes shopping? And my inventory is a mess! I feel neglected. Huffs.
-
I feel left out. Have I not been naughty enough?! Don't go too hard on them. Judging by their spelling, it would seem you're up against a third grader!
-
All right, that's one corner done for now .. On to the next!
-
Just started with the Christmas decor too. Dressing a Christmas tree is good practice for aligning stuff .. Still more to be done, but I don't want it to end up looking like it got hit with a 'Murrican.

I can take it. No promises I'll spend it wisely though!

It's been terrible, even with draw distance pushed as low as it goes, starting at a vendor stall for 30 minutes, teleporting out and back, trying the wireframe trick, and relogging doesn't always manage to fix it. Even when there's nothing else within camera view, the loading indicator flashes red like it's having a stroke and nothing happens. On the bright side, being unable to go shopping saves me money, I guess.- 23,459 replies

Where does one find vendor spaces?
Orwar replied to Victoria Coppola's topic in General Discussion Forum
There are a few malls with rentals around, but I don't know if people actually go to malls in-world anymore. You can set up a small shop pretty easy by renting land (just make sure it allows commercial use). Depends on the type of creations, I suppose. If by 'test-drive' you mean vehicles I can think of a few things you could try. If you mean clothes or such .. Set up a Blogotex, get a few bloggers, perhaps. -
How does your avatar look when enhanced by AI?

The day we can prompt an AI to 'mesh, rig, and texture some fancy clothes for SL', I'll be opening a store selling that sort of stuff! -

Playing media through SL has always seemed a bit rickety. My neighbour's TV would randomly start playing some awful music off a YouTube playlist because media switched on by itself. So I'd disable it, and go back to sorting my inventory, annnd suddenly the music would just start again.

In principle I agree, it's nice if stuff in Second Life is, well, in Second Life. But with how traffic works it's really not an indication of anything, bots have gotten a lot of blame but there are other traffic gaming methods which are much more complex to combat - it's easy enough to bump up traffic with fishing buoys or sploder-esque things that reward hanging around, there's shopping malls full of badly textured mesh prefabs with better traffic than many clothing stores that actually make quality stuff because of people camping a quarter-hourly chance of L$1. The MP is a lot easier to browse than store-hopping in-world (especially if you just search for 'Clothes' and go down the list by traffic), and I think that on some level we may just have to accept that these days people just prefer browsing galleries in a browser (whether Flickr streams, MP listings, or Seraphim galleries) and then go to the location - or grab a demo off the MP. I don't mind demos being in-world only, personally; that is however assuming that the store is navigable. Besides, with most new releases being at some event rather than the actual store .. Eh. I don't know, the more I think about it the more ambivalent I feel towards it. I guess it's nice to have some place to collect group gifts? lol- 23,459 replies

Hm, well I've linked my deformers into a single attachment (also my facial piercings, there's a lot of them lol). I'm never anywhere near the attachment limit though, so .. Eh. Appealing, sure, any kind of weight in choice of body, not really!
-
You can descript Maitreya via the HUD. I think you can do that with most bodies? Unfortunately those features probably aren't going to be what decides a male body's success with the burly masses of manly-men on the grid, hehe.

Charities in Second Life

And at the same time we've got people wearing Reborn with new apparel that is of such poor quality that Blueberry's 2015 releases looks like fine art. And I still have Deadwool stuff from 2016 that still look better than 99% of the releases today. .. Needs a new alpha though.
-
One could try to extrapolate purchasing power from that .. Or use it to confirm that bad taste tends to be a recurring trait in people. Meanwhile, 100% of the recently recorded wearers of Deadwool's Hart vest are Gianni users: Although at least some Legacy users are wearing the pocket watch chain. Sometimes I wonder about those stats though, or maybe it's just people in general I should be wondering about - apparently there's been 81 people caught running around with a lighter that only shows when the cigarette lightning sequence plays. .. Well, that's assuming none of those folks running around with the smokes forgot their lighters.
-
Not sure, never bought it as I never liked the shape at all. Gianni isn't perfect either, I especially don't like the legs much (which is why I seldom wear kilts in SL!), but it beats the peculiar abdominal protrusions (still better than Kario's midriff) and the starfish-hands of Jake. And unless you're into the weird fetishwear that Jake users seem to be flooded with, it's still easy enough to find clothes for Gianni, so I'm sticking with it!
