  1. I am still on Firestorm version 5.1.7 (55786). I am actually waiting until they force me off of it on the 21st. I actually don't like that they do that. Thank you for mentioning your experience though. I downloaded the latest version and was about to update to that one once I could no longer use my version, but I may hold off on that one all together then if it's laggy. I love all the features FS offers, but more often then not I am finding myself switching to Singularity in order to gain a good 20 extra on an FPS boost on sims with high mesh builds all over the place. I actually wish FS would give you the ability to render the game the same way Sing. does. That would cut out a lot of the lag issues people have. Especially for users who don't have a 4 gig or better video card designed for high end gaming. Some people tried to argue you can tweak graphics, but you really can't. Not without making your game look like crap. In my opinion the tweaking options are worthless. I've tested it on low end rigs and turned off basic shaders and it makes mesh flicker. lol Only viewer I have personally seen so far that does that. lol It's sadly one of those viewers if you want the bells and whistles you need to have the gear to run it. I have never thought of FS has being one of those viewers being for the faint of heart. I would advise one of three options assuming your using the viewer to work with BOM that I would personally try in your shoes if not all. Otherwise I'd just wait it out until they got it all sorted and pushed out the less laggy version. lol First I'd grab up Singularity's newest version for BOM as your back up viewer. Keep your version of FS you like that runs smooth and good for you right now installed and then install the BOM version to another directory. That would be how I would rock it. Hope this helps.
  2. Sorry I can't resist saying this.lol Community Booty Lmao!!!! 😜
  3. Ah ok. I see where I made my mistake. I been going to the main Alpha builds page directly which is here. http://alpha.singularityviewer.org/alpha/ I have the last update for that which was a year ago. After you said that though I went and booked it straight over to the main page and noticed they finally updated it. More then likely I just got caught up and didn't think to check the main site for some time. It looks like it is their Nightly builds that have been the ones getting the updating. I am not even sure what that means as I have only ever seen that term used once on the Radegast web site. lol That's awesome though that puts me back in business when I am hitting neighborhoods with high mesh builds all over the place. Thank you so much for that.
  4. Just posting a follow up. I tested two other viewers Singularity which was my back up viewer for when I needed an FPS boost in some areas that I rarely use anymore due to it not being updated any longer and can't really render your avatar with it anymore and Cool Viewer which I recently tested. Both viewers have the same issue with media as on Firestorm. So I know it's not a Firestorm issue. Not that I ever thought it was. It's definitely a plug in issue so I do want to point that out. May even be a Linux issue in general for all I know. lol
  5. I am going to 2nd. that mate. lol I am the same exact way. I seldom go out anymore in to social settings on SL and when I do to be honest it is people I have already known for some many years on here which most of those people I usually visit talk on voice. It's not very often I even type on here anymore unless I am in a public place or I get a random IM asking me to come hang out. Most times I am only even on to either hang out with the SL family or help friends with something on the business side of the house and then I log straight back out and go do something else. For some reason now days I just get bored on here and have a really hard time finding anything really worth while to do. I used to be part of a Star Trek RP sim once upon a time ago and then there was drama so I had to kill all that noise real quick fast and in a hurry. Now I just go play Star Trek Online the mmo for my Beam Me Up Scotty fix. Lmao!!!!
  6. Need the Fortnite Cheer Up emote. lol Can anyone make this emote in the form of a gesture, hud, and walker?
  7. Daddy!!!! Because for the first few seconds I have to guess and wonder ok what happened now? lol 😜
  8. I more or less agree with Drake1 Nightfire. While I am not big on naming and shaming myself I do agree on some things a good solid heads up should be allowed to be given. To go Johnny Linden Law for a moment. As far as TOS goes they are not allowed to share jack. So you can report them if the situation presents itself. If you get an admittance of guilt you want to do it while the IM box is still freshly open and visibly showing the chat. You want to be as specific and straight to the point as possible. Don't write a book, but make sure they have the whole full meal package of a mental picture. You need to make sure the viewer when you report caught the photo image of what your reporting. This more then anything will produce results. I can attest to this from my experience being part of the Green Lantern's anti-griefing group. I learned a lot from them and while legally there is nothing that can be done you can fight back if what they are doing is a TOS violation and you can prove it. Now having said that based off what I read there are a few things I also want to point out. More then likely the reason they asked for proof is because of it being a your word against his type of situation. So it might be more of an issue of them trying to be fair to everyone involved in the situation and less of an issue of them wishing to violate any TOS regulations. If that's the case I might be inclined to give them a pass if it were me personally. I think what I would find insulting is if they just met this person and you have been attending years and for some reason your word is now not good enough. That would be the deal killer for me that would make me walk out and simply wash my hands of the entire situation. Now we gonna address the Crazy Groups in SL. Before I go any further let me point out I am using that term in jest to poke fun at me and not you. I'll use Mental Help for you and the rest of the world. So when I say Mental Help I mean you and everybody else. When I say Crazy Group I mean me. lol I blame my Pop for that joke because when we both at one time had to take pills for mental reasons he called them his Crazy Pills and that just struck me as hilarious the way he said it and it has stuck with me ever since. lol Now that, that is out of the way moving on. lol For Mental Help groups I seriously recommend vetting them hard if your talking to people in SL. I tend to agree with Drake1 that finding an RL solution is the better road to travel. I can't stress that enough. I also know that can become expensive as well too so searching and seeking out support groups in your home area is another alternative as well too. I would not look at these Mental Help groups as anything more then support group material comprised up of mostly other individuals out there seeking help as well. Which leads me to the story of my Crazy Group experience. lol I am not gonna go in to super detail on what my issues where except to say I wasn't suicidal, but my head was in a dark place for some reasons during this time period that were out of my control. Now I am not going to name and shame the group because if it has helped someone then I don't want to take that away by something I say or give them a negative impression if they have had entirely positive experiences. For me however I joined this group and I tped in for the first meeting. Nobody spoke to me. It was as if I was not even there. I sat in that meeting for maybe an hour if not possibly two. I even seen the SL wife of an old friend from back in my SL boxing days. She didn't even speak. I attempted to participate in the conversation a few times trying to give it the god old military try and nothing. Not even a kiss my behind from them folks. lol So I sat back and watched and waited. I thought maybe everybody get's a turn. Maybe at some point they will ask the new people to introduce themselves. Nope. lol Now at some point and I don't know why, but I even started having funny thoughts all of a sudden such as I wonder if I was to find a dirty movie on the internet and mic up with it playing and start breathing heavy in to the mic if they will even notice me then? lol Or maybe I should have just showed up to the meeting in my Johnny 5 avatar gang outfitted up like he was in the 2nd. movie smoking a joint then I might have actually got a hello out of someone. lol Now about after an hour and a half of having funny thought after funny thought I had amused myself so much and to such a degree that I was laughing so hard that I was in literal tears. lol So by the time the meeting was over I had realized these people have helped me and they had not even so much as asked me why I was even there in the first place let alone to even introduce my name. Lmao!!!! Over all between the laughter and tears it struck me as only really a few peoples issues were addressed and it was more of a big pow pow session then an actual group therapy meeting. More of a bunch of people in a room complaining and focused solely on themselves rather then a professional environment setting I would have visually and mentally expected to walk in to. Anyway I hope if nothing else my experience has at the very least made you laugh or smile a bit. lol Good luck in getting yours resolved.
  9. My Pop taught me a lesson once when I was a young lad. He said never talk about how good your woman is behind closed doors because not only is it disrespectful, but then everyone else is going to want to find out. lol Now while this is sort of different and I honestly don't think your in any danger mate, but I must caution you that while it is a good thing to be proud of your woman at the same time the same rule applies. Piece of advice from an old dog. If you we're never anything without your woman then you will never be anything with her. So work on you first mate. Then everything else will fall in to place.
  10. I agree with you entirely. For me personally though I am not that way because I am paranoid. I just have an old school military mind set and I just simply do not care. I give everyone a fair chance and if they betray my trust for no good reason then I am pretty much done with them at that point. I keep it simple like that. I say no good reason because I've had people come to me with stuff and ask for advice. I'd give my advice and then kindly remind them we did not have this conversation and I don't recommend speaking to anyone else about said situation I got asked about. I have also had people around me who have shared stuff trying to be funny that they had no business sharing which to put it politely sparked a very negative reaction and a not so kind response. I pretty much let them know straight to the point they are a snake in the grass and I don't play that. I don't come on here to purposely be mean to anybody and hurt peoples feelings. So ya I agree with you 110% sister. People need to be able to trust and respect one another and if not then at the very least they need to do then is learn when and how to shut it the heck on up and act like they got some sense. lol
  11. You also a premium member if your using live chat and you have a better chance of getting decent service. My SL wife is also, but I however am not. We both have had negative experiences dealing with them of various issues over time. One thing I will point out though is the system really isn't set up properly. If a Resident who is not a premium member and yet they still spend hundreds of dollars in the game then they should be afforded the same access to live chat assistance. That's not something you should have to pay a monthly fee for. This is the only mmo that has ever done that and it's honestly one of the reasons I refuse to spend anymore money in to the game then I have already obligated myself to. But ya I have found premium members have had better odds of getting a positive experience so I am glad that you've at least gotten your money's worth out of that.
  12. I personally have not been impressed with support. In fact it has been so bad in my experiences with issues having gone unresolved in the past that they would have to work really hard in order for me to have a low opinion of their services. While some have had decent experiences I have found most residents I have personally spoken with to have very extremely negative ones. In my opinion for the mass amount of money generated threw this game it is WAY below acceptable standards and I have NEVER seen support this bad in any other mmo community I have ever been a part of. In all honesty if it wasn't for tier payments for the home for my SL partner/family I would not drop another dime in to SL because of how bad it is. I actually would have left SL a very long time ago. lol So unless I know they are online and want to hang out I barely can be bothered to log in it now. lol
  13. I always found it interesting if not amusing they even try to regulate this. lol It's just another way for people to cry about something in order to get someone else in trouble for some stupidness they went and got themselves in to for the most part rather then watch what they are saying to people in the first place in most cases. People have been sharing chat logs since the birth of SL. Nothing new about it. That's why I make it an express point not to say anything I don't have the guts to say in front of the entire world. Which there really isn't anything I wouldn't be afraid to say so for me personally I don't care what anyone shares of mine. If I get asked if I said it my response is generally yes I did and your point? What you gonna do about it? lol
  14. No worries. It's all good. lol It was a good and funny comment. Thanks for the laugh. lol I did and I followed it to this page here. https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/firestorm_in_64-bit_ubuntu_1804 I even redid a lot of those steps again to try and see if I missed anything. I don't have a specific link per say, but these are the two tv's I am having issues with. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/XCONTROL-TV-FLATSCREENMOVIES-TV-SERIES-LIVESTREAM-AND-MORE/5309677 And. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/VEA-3-Media-Video-Television-Movies-Youtube-Shoutcast-Radio/1792408 Now I have no problem playing Youtube videos, but when I go in to play actual movies I get a message saying plug in not installed. I do have a Windows partition I keep for competitive games that require the use of anti cheat software such as Fortnite for example (Yes, feel free to poke fun I done went and got hooked on the Fortnite. lol ) and SL is installed there as well too so it's not a big issue or anything. It's just super annoying sometimes to have to swap out my OS if the SL family wants to do a movie night. lol I have predominately been doing most of my mmo gaming on Linux now days. So I am mainly curious if there is something I have overlooked. At this point I can't really think of anything. Thanks again for the help. I appreciate it.
  15. Oh I set Firestorm up on it. I am sorry. I probably should have mentioned that. lol
  16. Ya that was lot's of help. lol I suppose I was about due and had that coming after years of messing with my friends giving those type of answers like your computer doesn't like you when they initially ask me for my help. lol So you must be Karma. Nice to meet you I am Velk. lol
  17. Anyone know how to set up media on Ubuntu 18.04? Got GStreamer 0.10 and all, but I still get a message saying this plug in is not supported every time I go to try and play a movie on the tv in world. I've tried about every fix I ran across via Google and still nothing seems to work. I am open to suggestions. Thanks in advance.
  18. Oh I gotta hook you up girlfriend. lol It can also be spelled Woosa or Woosah, but check this clip out and then you'll know what it means. lol Also just an update for whatever reason the 32 bit viewer keeps setting off Avast now and the dullahan_host.exe has multiple processes of itself that stays running in the background even after I shut the viewer down. Now when I scan the Firestorm folder it scans clean, but when I run the viewer I get this message I'll post a photo of every time. https://gyazo.com/3037af1ba92e4bd68b253e2458970ee2 The weird thing is it doesn't do that when I first installed it. It only started that today when I decided to run it finally after my break and time off from dealing with it. I am assuming Avast deleted my files the first time and just didn't tell me. Another weird thing is my 64 bit viewer seems to have no problems what so ever. lol Go figure. lol
  19. Sorry for the delayed reply everyone. I had to seriously take a step back from SL and my Firestorm issues. I needed some woosaa and chillax time I got so irritated messing with this. lol So in the Halloween spirit and in light of the new Halloween 2018 movie that just came out I had logged in to Steam and played some Dead By Daylight as Micheal Myers to release the rage!!!! lol I learned one thing as a survivor main is that I make a very crappy killer in that game so I don't feel at all to bad about that. lol Ok so moving on. lol I didn't make a back up or anything and restore them like that. I sorta wish I had back the folders up to another drive before making the changes, but I do think I manage to work out what happened. I was using Firestorm 32 bit OS version for Open Sim. When I reinstalled because I generally keep a copy of the install for each version of FS I installed the FS 32 bit version for SL only. I did so in haste because I was irritated and that's really on me. Initially this was just to be a simple reinstall and replacement of missing files. So what happened was when I installed the SL only version I believed it changed my save logs location on me and for some reason it saved it to the 64 bit location. At this point I went in to settings and changed it back and it automatically backed up any duplicate logs in that folder giving me doubles of almost every log file. The good news is this did not happen to any store/design alts so the damage is limited to only my main avatar. The bad news I mostly only ever log my main from a normal viewer because once I set the alt up I text viewer it from there if I need them for anything. lol So in short I don't think it's anything I did persay other then being stupid and rushing the process and installing the SL version of the 32 bit rather then the 32 bit OS version because that is ultimately when and were my problems with it began to start. I pretty much at this stage have two choices. I can either leave it as it and say stuff it since I already set it back to the correct path. Then it's pretty much a question of if I can be bothered to individually fix all the log files back to the correct ones. I can tell you now I won't. lol That's just way to many files to deal with. lol Or I can go with option two and back up all logs to another drive and nuke everything and do one fresh clean install and start everything entirely over from scratch. Now to address the specific questions I was asked so I didn't miss anything here. No I did not. In fact since I started using 32 bit I seldom have ran my 64 bit version other then to test performance differences between the two viewers. I don't think so and the reason I say that is because until I had this issue I never had to manually go in and set the folder. They saved to their correct locations up until recently when I had to fix it back. I think like Nalates mentioned with viewer being unpredictable the SL 32 bit version in comparison to the OSG version had in fact an unexpected and unpredicted response during the install process and instead of it setting itself to the log folders for the 32 bit version like it should have it defaulted to the folder and path for the 64 bit version of the viewer instead. So in short the moral of the story is I need to pay more attention and stop rushing when I am installing this stuff. lol If you all have any other takes on this I would love to hear about them. Thank you all for the help with this. I appreciate it alot. Hope you all had a fun Halloween as well too.
  20. Thanks, but I don't think ya'll get what I am asking. Let me try this again. Does FS bug out alot on where it saves this stuff? The crap installs where it wants to from what I see like it has a mind of it's own. lol I just reinstalled 32 bit as I said and it sent the logs for my main account to the 64 bit folder. Explain that one. lol My wife had hers at one point saving in two different locations without her even knowing it. Only reason I noticed a mix up on mine is because I pop links to myself sometimes between avatars when shopping on market. And to add fun *chimes in the music of sarcasm* in to the mix I just had a serious wtf moment and irritated because when I reset it rather then just switching the save location and resuming from there it backed up the entire folder so now I got my 32 bit duplicated with my 64 bit and doubles of every log and back ups. I am like seriously? lol Now I have to sort all this crap out. Like when did this become such a pain in the behind? lol
  21. So Firestorm saves chat logs to different locations for each user. For example I am on Windows 7 and I been using the 32 bit version of the viewer and recently I had to reinstall it because for some weird reason my slplugin and some files vanished which I haven't worked out how and my logs with my wife on here is in my chat logs for my 64 bit viewer version of Firestorm, but I had a log with a friend not show up when I was working on my store alt and it created in my 32 bit chat log folder. I want to say if I recall correctly my wife had a similar issue from her main account only. My question is what causes this and can this easily be fixed in my settings by redoing the save location or is there something else I need to do? Thanks in advance.
  22. Ok I have an update for anyone interested in this issue. I worked out a temporary fix if you use Firestorm. It does have to do with the way Firestorm renders textures in that viewer. Most viewers rezz textures at a compressed resolution if I recall right and if you go in to the Developer menu and scroll down to Rendering and check Full Rezz Textures it will stop rebaking issues people have and the tattoos will no longer disappear. This will load ingame textures at their full resolution. That being said I generally only have this enabled when I am at home. I would not have it enabled while tping about to large sims and such. Also you have to turn it on each time you log in because by default the viewer turns it off automatically. This is the only current fix I know and have found for this issue. Hope this helps.
  23. I was checking back to see if there was ever a fix for this issue and true that works for some and that's great and all, but like I said in my last post on Firestorm they disappear even having done what you suggested and when on another viewer such as Singularity for example they show up fine. This is a non-issue on any other viewer. So it either way it's still a Firestorm issue. So I guess I'll ask and this is to anyone really, has there been a fix discovered for this problem as of yet?
  24. What video recording software do you prefer? I am curious. I use fraps myself, but was looking at maybe changing up if there are any programs out there that can record more and use way less disk space doing it without having to recode the entire video again. So what do you use for video recording software and why do you like it or what is it that you like about it? Thanks in advance.
