  1. I literally got nothing for that. lol I can not think of a good enough witty come back for that right now because I keep having this hilarious mental image of a mosquito having a tug and a wank at your bouncy behind. Thank you so much for that. Lmao!!!! 🀣 This song goes out for you. Had to be done. Lmao!!!!😜
  2. Thanks. I'll probably do that. The only reason I posted on the forums is when I did a search I seen old threads where people mentioned they got it to work, but no one really ever said exactly how. lol
  3. I think we can all relate to that. It is also exactly why I love chat logs. lol See and I am the type I'd be like well fine Miss Meaniebutt. No Doritos for you and do not expect the privilege of getting any of my Scooby Snacks as well either. lol And I have a cute butt too. I'm just saying. lol I'd be like you see it? Do you see it? This is my booty. And this is my booty walking in the other direction. Enjoy the view while it lasts. Let me stop for ya for a moment. Ya gotta savor the moment. Ok that's enough savoring for now. Moving on. Exit stage left. Lmao!!!!😜 I actually get you better then you think. We are a lot a like you and I. So much so it's kind of scary even. lol I recently had a conversation where no matter what I said or how I said it the other person kept coming out of left field with their own meanings and interpretations. I thought that only happened to me. lol And ya most people either love me or hate me and only the select few actually have managed to navigate back and forth if not both at the same exact time. It's like your the one they love to hate. lol Ya being honest I don't go to them anymore like that either or at least very often. When I do it's because a friend asked me to tag along. Like you I pretty much make my own fun.I will usually either chill on my build platform chillaxing as I call it where friends may sometimes come visit me to either talk about their issues or they are just really that bored on that day if they are coming to see me. lol A lot of times I sim hop. I am not sure if your familiar with the old tv show Sliders, but I actually have a timer which opens up a portal and randomly drops me at different places and I pretend I am exploring other worlds in different dimensions. Lmao!!!!😁😎
  4. Thanks for pointing that out mate. You had better luck in your search then I did. Might be because I just did a straight copy and paste from what was posted earlier. Had me wondering if many people actually use that version. lol
  5. See right there that'd probably be one of the very few if not the only distinct difference in how we roll because I don't have a saw myself personally. Everyone that's ever made it to my list is on their for life unless they remove themselves. lol I won't even say how large my friends list has gotten over the last decade. lol I be feeling bad. I am like awww man that's my little buddy from 2009 I can't delete him. lol He needs a friend if he ever comes back. lol 😁 I agree though. We'd end up having a blast hands down. I admit after seeing your conversation on here for a while I have thought to myself I bet she'd be a blast to hang out with at parties. lol I mean if you were a temperature you'd be just at the right setting. lol Not to hot, not to cold, perfect amount of wit and sarcasm and you bat 1,000 in the intelligence dept. which makes for a nice and deadly combo when dealing with the people that like to go round and round on here. So by the time all is said and done you can be like ah you mad? You need a time out or a hug even? Have a candy bar and a coke and a smile. Ima leave you with these tissues for your issues ad go find someone who can hang on my level. Lmao!!!!
  6. How I love this answer. lol I actually had to laugh though at this because I am probably in the low 1% of people that this really would not have worked on. lol I would be like, "Whaaaattttt???? Your poo is runny too? OMG and I thought it was just me. Mines not bleeding yet, but there is definitely some weird shade of green in it that makes you think of toxic waste. And speaking of green my nose is running too. I really hate when I try to pull a booger out of my nose though and the end stays attached to my nose causing it to become long and stringy. It's like it is holding on for dear life and doesn't wanna leave my nose because it is happy and comfortable there. And speaking of boogers I woke up with some real crusty eye boogers today. I swear I almost could not open my eyes because it was like they were sowed shut by the crusty critters crew of eye booger land or something. When I pulled them off I ended up bleeding because now I have no more eye lids which really sucks and I got so nauseated I started to vomit all over the place. I saw corn and beef chunks in my vomit and it was the color of some strawberry ice cream which made me even more sick. Plus I think I might have pooed my pants a little, but I am to lazy to check right now. There is definitely a smell coming from down there though. I am fine thanks for asking.". Lmao!!!! P.S. *Does the I'll be right back voice from the first Scream movie, making funny faces, and then exits the room.* How are yoouu????!!!! Lmao!!!!😜
  7. Oh ok I got you now. I wasn't sure if you were speaking to me on that or not. I actually had to look that datacenter thingy up. lol It looks like a version of Windows designed for a server machine. My search results didn't really give me a whole lot of real information on it. I personally wouldn't set up a server OS on anything except a sever machine myself and I am more inclined to go with a Linux OS set up for that myself. More then likely Ubuntu since that is the OS I am using currently. I agree though I couldn't think of a reason it'd tank performance either except for maybe all the bloatware that OS comes with. I would think being a version of the OS designed for server software it'd not have very much of that though. I could be wrong though. For me I wouldn't say my performance was tanked when testing it, but it was definitely degraded some. Enough to annoy me. Let's put it like that mate. lol Oh I totally agree on that.I thought a lot of the same things when I first read threw it. I just didn't comment on that part because I guess I am just use to when I am reading Steam forums watching people gamer rage all the time. If they drop 10 or 20 frames they may post and say it's 40 or 50. lol So I tend to read between the lines a lot and try to hit a realistic conclusion which more often then not I found helps me, help them better. They calm it way down and do whatever fix and are happy campers again and keep it moving. lol And please don't mistake me for disagreeing with anything you've said so far outside of our opinions on what would be the best card to run SL at. You can get by with a 1 gig card, but I was more referring to if you want decent play ability and performance you'd go 4 gigs on up. How they expect to run at a 512m draw distance range all the time on a 1 gig card and not have issues is beyond me. lol Now if they are in an area with no mesh builds that is definitely doable. Mesh builds are every where now and mesh alone will bring you to a screeching halt if you try to rezz to much of it in all at once. lol I tested that too in an all mesh neighborhood once and I locked everything up. lol I got it in to my head to test out the 3k meter range with mesh and on that day my computer literally spoke to me. I kid you not. It said mofo are you crazy? Turn that mess down!!!! lol I want to touch base on a few of your key points. Your first set of 1 to 4 is mainly want I want to touch base on. In theory on number 1. you'd be correct, but you also need to take in to account actual ram being used to run the viewer itself which if you ever have checked your processes tab you probably noticed that actually will vary. I've had Firestorm up to a good 4 gigs of ram being used at any one time. All that is based up on how much graphics your rezzing in world. I have never seen a viewer ever in all the years I played SL only use just 2 gigs of ram once it's up and running good. That will actually kill the game before you ever even have a chance to use up 2 gigs of vram. Your vram ensures you that smooth performance. Your ram is what actually keeps you in the game and ensures smooth functionality. Which brings me to point number 2.. I agree with exception to on teeny tiny little difference on your point. It's minuscule small really. Any computer? Ummmm no. Just no. A 512m draw distance is definitely doable IF and people often forget the IF part, but that's IF your computer can handle it. More to the point you need both the ram and vram to back it up. I agree the average user with an older rig needs to keep it at at least 128m to ensure they have a positive and decent experience on Second Life. Think I am gonna end off there because I am not really sure what your on about on number 3. as I didn't notice anyone misspelling it, but I am old so I might miss stuff sometimes trying to still move and shake it real fast. lol Anyway I agree with pretty much the rest of what you and the rest of the crew are saying. So I got nothing else on it right now. Go team!!!! Lmao!!!!
  8. Ok mates just an update on this thread really for those having issues with this viewer. You can get the updates for it in Discord. It is still being currently worked on. So they do in fact still update it. Rye was kind enough to help me get sorted. What I have learned is this. If you get a error saying , "Application was unable to start correctly, (0xC0000142)", then more then likely it's an issue with your processor. The 64 bit is designed to run with newer processors however the 32 bit version will still operate on older hardware. Never thought I'd see the day when I got told my processor was old and dated given it's speed. lol I am not sure how I feel about that. Lmao!!!!🀣 Anyway. lol Big thanks again to @Willow Wilder for sharing the Discord link. So awesome of her to do so. The Alchemy peoples would be lost with out her. lol 😜 So far in my testing of viewers on the Windows 10 OS it's for the most part fared well. At least the 32 bit version does anyway. I can't really say I have had any viewer run flawlessly on Windows 10 as of yet, but this one is definitely giving it a run for it's money. lol They also just recently added RLV in to it as well for those looking for a RLV viewer. I definitely recommend having this viewer along side with Firestorm and Singularity if you like having more then one viewer alternative. Hope this helps. Best of luck everyone.
  9. Well I agree they should back off the overclock. In fact don't do it at all. I personally don't overclock. I've never needed to. Also pulling draw back to 128 meters could help a lot as well too and still give decent draw distance range. I still stand by what I said regarding Windows 10 though. Proof of that is in the performance when your compare various OS platforms. As far as having a 84c temperature goes it's still with in acceptable limits. It's when it hits 90c is when you should become really concerned and shut the application down. However I would add extra cooling fans to that rig as I tend to keep my temps between 60c and 70c when gaming. Even cleaning the inside out of dust with a can of compressed air could make all the difference. Also keeping the room itself cool makes a big difference as well too believe it or not.
  10. I am sorry, but I had to laugh when I read that because and no offense, but if you were referring to SL 10 years ago I would have agreed. lol I would largely disagree today however as I have tested the Firestorm BoM viewer for example to name one if not the main one we all use on more then one rig and OS and as a gamer I would strongly recommend at the very least a 4 gig video card or even better fresh out the starting gate for that viewer if you want optimal performance. On a side note I have also noticed some issues testing other viewers which vary from viewer to viewer that I've personally tested up to and including Catznip that have added BoM capability to them which actually makes me wonder if there is an actual design flaw with LL's incorporation with adding BoM to the grid in itself since most viewers are developed to enhance your game play experience up on the server or grid if you will. I could be wrong, but in my testing I have noticed more issues with BoM viewers then I ever have with Non-BoM viewers. So it kind of makes you wonder mate. lol To the OP I read over your specs and to be honest I do not think there is an issue with your hardware. Especially when talking about Catznip. While not exactly the viewer of my choice due to lack of some features it is an excellent choice for a system with your specs. Unless I missed it what I didn't see is what OS you are using. If your using Windows 10 and this is just my guess based of my own testing I'd say that is the culprit of part of your issues. Over half of the viewers I tested on Windows 10 ran like garbage. If I take those same viewers and run them on Windows 7 or even better Linux(Ubuntu 18.04 LTS to be exact.) I get way better performance and navigating SL is actually an enjoyable experience. I have yet to enjoy my SL experience on Windows 10. I am going to end off on that note because I have absolutely nothing positive to say about that OS right now. lol My next point keep in mind this is by my own personal gaming standards which the bar is set extremely high on. I will start off by saying this is just my own personal opinion because I get people who like to argue me on this point and I don't got all that to do. That being said I feel like the other half of your issues could very well be contributed to grid/server side issues. Every time they meaning LL make a change there is a period where everything runs horrific. Project Sunshine in the video you posted is pure and complete crap IMHO. I had better load times before that was implemented. That's just to name one mate. lol IMHO adding BoM and the back end changes they made I felt like degraded server performance that was already degraded by the introduction of mesh on up in general. I notice changes more then the average person largely due to I have an extremely large inventory of over 200k items so how I load in world basically tells me how the grid is running for the day. It is also how I judge how well a viewer is made. I can take a fresh toon and load in relatively fast and have awesome performance on any viewer. It's how a viewer handled veteran toons is how I grade them mostly. Your video card if you eventually upgrade that I feel like most of your issues would be solved. You basically have a 1 gig card that pre-mesh you could have walked around with draw distances on a 3k meter range setting on average sims and maybe half that down to 500 meters on mainland depending on where you were at. The introduction of mesh killed all that noise. Upgrades are being made to SL that SL was never designed to handle and they are being implemented poorly to put it politely. All the viewer designers can do is try to keep up. They basically have to design the 3d web browsers to pull up high end graphics the game was never designed for or even properly upgraded to even handle in the first place. Which in effect causes most of them to become very poorly optimized attempting to handle the load in the first place which taxes systems resources to no end. Which is why I am a personal fan of Linux because Linux actually compensates for this rather well. If today's software was still compatible with Windows XP that would have been my Windows alternative as it is actually the best OS in all actuality to use for a system with your specs gaming wise because it would have in fact tripled if not quadrupled your performance given that OS only requires 512 megs of ram to operate on. Over all if your running Windows 10 I'd try running your viewers in Windows 7 compatibility mode to see if that helps you some. I am actually testing it with Singularity's Nightly build myself because that viewer constantly crashed. So far since I had done that it has been fine. Since I run more then one OS it's a bit easier for me to say stuff it and throw in the towel because currently I am more focused on running mine on Linux. I have pretty much hit the end of my patience with Windows 10. lol Give that a try and see how you go mate. Also Catznip still has their R12 2 version on the web site which is a Non-BoM viewer if I am not mistaken. Download that and give that a try as well. I'll downgrade in a heartbeat if I need to for performance gain. The only reason I don't bother with Firestorm is because eventually they force you off the older version so there really is no point in it since it is a temp fix solution anyway. Singularity is the best Firestorm alternative out there in my opinion. It has all the same features I mostly use. I just wish they had the show friends only feature in it. lol Anyway hope some of this helps and good luck mate.
  11. I got a follow up question on this thread. An alternative solution actually that may or may not work. Has anyone or does anyone know how to set up a viewer and what libraries you'd need with PlayOnLinux? I tried and added the usual libraries I normally do for other games, but I have an issue getting flash installed and fonts are not showing up for some parts as they should. I am getting no time stamps what so ever in chat. So far I have tested this with Singularity's Nightly build. I wanted to make sure everything worked before I tried it with Firestorm. I've searched and so far found no clear instructions on how exactly to set this up. Only that people have set it up. I did notice an increase in fps so I was curious if I could set this up properly. So if anyone knows how I'd greatly appreciate the how to guide for dummies. lol Thanks in advance.
  12. You still doing classes? I might be interested. What dialect of Spanish are you teaching? I am looking to learn Puerto Rican Spanish since that's where my Pops is from.
  13. I am so sorry for your loss. *Hugs you tight.*😒
  14. Thank you so much for clearing that up for me.I wasn't to sure about that. I thought maybe I was just having trouble finding it like the other one. I believe I got the in world group on my bank toon so I should be covered on that front. I started running out of group space on my main though. lol I may actually consider going premium after all these years just for the extra 20 or so group slots they give you. lol
  15. Do you both have large inventories? Not being funny or anything. I am asking because I have over 200k of items from over the years in mine and a lot of times I may have to clear cache when loading in to grid since using the new version. It's slowly starting to sort itself out from me having to stay doing that, but I would clear cache and see if you can get loaded in that way. Hope this helps and good luck.
  16. Oh neat I actually never realized they actually had a text preset. I learned something new today. Thanks for that. lol I am sorry I didn't mean for it to read as if Radegast was the trigger. I guess I worded myself wrong. I was just meaning that I had one issue with Radegast since the install that what ever Alchemy installed like the 2017 redistributbles might have had an effect on Radegast. Before that time I never had an issue while running it and currently I only had the one black screen glitch so far. For all I know it could not even be viewer related to that viewer. For all I know Firefox may have caused the glitch out. I am just taking a guess on that since Alchemy was the cause of rainbow bright colors all over my the place and this happened directly right after. lol I am fairly sure it is a Windows 10 compatibility issue. Which is why I tell my friends I keep 3 OS'es on my rig. Windows 10 for the new stuff, Windows 7 for the old, and Linux Ubuntu 18.04 LTS for everything else in between. lol Ya I am thinking I am going to keep Windows 10 exclusive to Firestorm and Radegast only. Even Singularity isn't acting right on it right now. It occasionally crashes and I have a heck of a time loading my large inventory up on it. I generally keep a back up viewer in case I have a serious glitch out and need to fix some stuff on one and/or a low end one for fps gain, but finding one that works decently with Windows 10 is becoming increasingly annoying and I seldom have issues with Firestorm and the issues I have had which isn't very often I can work around those. I am glad you mentioned Ctrl-All_Studio though because that is one of my usual choices I keep on hand even though it's no longer updated. So thanks for the head up on that. Thank you so very much. I did have one last question for you while I am thinking about it. Is there a Firestorm discord? I been looking for that one too. On the Radegast thing I think I totally miss-worded myself or wasn't clear enough. I don't think it was the trigger. I just think it might possibly have been effected by what ever changes were made. I could be wrong on that though. I'll check the Alchemy discord though and see if anyone's worked out a Windows 10 fix and if not then I probably won't even worry with a secondary viewer on that OS. It's becoming more trouble then it's worth. lol Thanks again for the help. I really and truly appreciate it.
  17. I saw the inworld group for them listed on the site, but I don't have a group I can presently drop. I didn't see anything about a Discord though listed on their web site. Do you have an invite link by chance? Thanks I appreciate it. I had a feeling it might be a Windows 10 issue as that would explain it. It's weird it would effect me running Radegast now as well too though. Thanks I appreciate it.
  18. Your welcome. lol I am sorry I thought maybe you might have seen the movies and got the joke. I thought your photos were awesome and made me want to dawn my Spidey suit to come save the day so thank you for that. lol Your half right it was a underwear collection. That was the original MCU Spider-Man's suit before he gets his new one. We have Tony Stark aka Iron Man to thank for the nickname though. lol Here is a clip so you can see what I meant by it.
  19. That would not have happened had you brought Underoos with you. lol πŸ˜πŸ•·οΈπŸ•ΈοΈπŸ˜œ
  20. No Ma'am I never once had an issue until I installed this viewer. I am not sure what redistributbles it installed from 2017, but the only other issue I've noticed since installing it with regards to another viewer was Radegast which is a text viewer. I was in a conversation today on there in fact and right as I opened a page or another tab rather in Firefox my screen went entirely black and stayed that way so I had to power my system off and boot it back up. I was on both Firestorm and Singularity last night and I didn't have any issues. I switched over to Radegast today so I could do other things outside of SL and basically just chat if anyone needed me for anything. I've never had this issue before so I am not entirely sure where to look for the conflict at. The last time I tested that viewer I was using Windows 7 and it was fine. This time I am using Windows 10 so I am not sure if it's a case of something conflicting with the OS or what. My drivers for my card are updated so I am really not sure what to do or what would be causing it at this point. I am fairly sure it's software related. If it were an issue with my gpu I'd think I'd have this issue regardless of what OS I was running. And I do run other graphic intense applications/games with out issue. This problem only started exactly right after I installed this viewer and all of it's contents. So I am curious as to what exactly it installed or what system changes it may have made in this recent version. Because I wasn't having issues before that and also keep in mind I did not even run the graphics portion of this viewer yet. I only let it load up to the character select log in screen and hit exit on it. So my gpu hasn't even been used with this viewer yet. Anyway thanks again for the help.
  21. Alchemy Viewer Rainbow Colors? I just installed it to take a look. I haven't even logged in with it yet, but only started it once and closed it out and I get pretty rainbow colors that make me reboot in order to fix it. Anyone else have this issue? lol I was going to test it on a Windows 10 platform with an AMD card. Now I am not so sure. lol I haven't even got out of the starting gate with it. Is this a usual thing with this viewer now? lol
  22. I just saw this and just had to laugh. I sorries. lol No offense taken. You wouldn't be the first to tell me I can write a book. lol *Points at my SL wife.* lol Trust me my Jira would have been way shorter. Cliff notes version and direct to the point even. I missed the part initially where she got sorted so awesome on that. I am personally finding for us the more we've used the viewer the more some of the initial issues have begun sorting themselves out. May be just a case of breaking it in some. What differences I am noticing isn't worth opening a Jira about. I think as long as the person has the rig to run it then they should be just fine. Anyway shutting up now. I shush shush now. Lmao!!!!😁
  23. Good point. lol I agree and everyone doesn't have an easy experience with that one I keep forgetting. It's more like hit and miss that one is. lol Your right though. I was a bit shirty. Guilty as charged. lol Hopefully they take my advice and fix their personality issues first and are much nicer the next time they visit these forums. lol I had to double check and make sure I was on the SL forums and not on the Steam's Garry's Mod forums watching a 10 year old rage about their game not working right. lol I had a mental image of Boogie2988 in his Francis character yelling I just wanna *bleeping* play!!!!! Lmao!!!! πŸ˜‚
  24. Thanks mate. I and the majority of gamers on Steam I feel safe in saying would seriously not ever endorse Second Life on Steam in all honesty. I could list a buffet of reasons on why this is a very bad idea. I'll stick personally to my primary main reason on why I am personally against this. It will open the door to increasing the chances for underage kids to come on to the grid. Steam is a GAMERS platform and before anyone comes at me with well Steam now has adult games on it let me educate you now that there is a BIG difference and I mean a HUGE difference in sneaking a look at a dirty movie or a dirty video game vs being exposed and open to other adults engaging in adult activities. Anyone who actually thinks this is a good idea I'd have to seriously question their morals. πŸ™„ Most people do not have a gaming rig and right out the gate going by minimum requirements Sansar requires at least a 4 gig video card to run. This alone killed it before we even touch the game mechanics of it mate. I literally laughed when I seen it on Steam because anyone who has gamed hard core before knows gamers are ruthless in their reviews. lol I think this as with anything varies. While I have not exactly hit those type of sims much myself I have noticed an increase in discussion groups and things like that as of lately. The other thing I want to point out also is that if sex is their main reason for playing then they may have gravitated to other platforms geared more towards that such as Red Light Center or 3DXChat. I am sure for a lot of reasons even such as they don't have to deal with as much lag if any at all or they have the I just want to get in, get off, and get out mentality. lol I am sure those platforms save a lot of time and energy on that front as well too. lol I think on this point it depends on who you ask. As a parent in SL and someone who does the family RP thing on here I can say it has become harder to a degree. Yes you are right about that part. A lot of that also has to do with the HKE school closing down and possibly even the neighborhood sim if I recall correctly. That being said there are still schools out there and there are still activities and functions to do. I mean just last night I logged in and we took our kids to Halloween Town and while it may not have been crowded more then likely due to grid issues SL had yesterday we still ran in to a fairly decent amount of people attending that sim. The RP sims on here in general have always had their ups and downs. My last thoughts are towards the SL parents on here. If your kids are having a poopie experience on SL then you need to ask yourselves what can I do better in order to enhance their experience on SL? If you can't put in work there then you got no business being a parent on here in the first place.
  25. While it make look better to an extent I think whether or not if its worth it is up to the person using it. Performance wise I definitely think mesh and bento and all that taxes the server/grid a lot more then it can handle. Use to be you could have a full on sim party with the sim max limit hit and not feel any real lag what so ever if you had a decent enough rig and at least 500 megs of video memory on your card. Now days even with a video card of 4 gigs of video memory to play around with you get puzzle pieces where avatars should be and more often then not your hitting that show friends only button if your on Firestorm. lol I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if it had been introduced back the day when SL had a much larger population. lol
