I know that "...has gotten their outbox problems resolved!" isn't YOUR problem. You need a new computer! Didn't I hear you say you've got the money now in an earlier thread? Maybe it's time to go shopping. Or did something else come up and you don't have it any longer?
  2. Howdy, Miss Madeliefste! As of 3:49am SLT (I know...it's crazy early) it is showing 2,504,522 items. I think a lot of people are scrambling to get things relisted over night last night and that accounts for the 200,000 more items between when you posted and this morning. It will be interesting to see what it's like when I get home after work this afternoon!
  3. Howdy, Miss Amethyst!! Yes, I completely agree. There's a lot of stuff out there that is so old, or from merchants who aren't even in SL any longer that just needs to go away. So yeah...I hope it all gets eliminated as well. We'll see what happens as the day progresses.
  4. Howdy, Ricky Personally, I love Redgrave's eyes and that's whose eyes I've worn for a long time. She has many different colors and they look very realistic in MY opinion. Marcus H
  5. Announced today: April 2, 2013 has arrived, and we have begun the first phase of Magic Box Shutdown. As of today, Merchants are no longer able to list unlimited-quantity items for L$10 or less using Magic Boxes. By noon PT tomorrow, April 3, 2013, any active, unlimited-quantity listingsfor L$10 or less using Magic Boxes will be unlisted. Note that the following will still be allowed: Magic Box listings priced at L$11 or higher. All Magic Box listings with limited quantity items, regardless of price.Note that the second deadline is fast approaching. On April 16th, 2013: Merchants will no longer be able to list unlimited-quantity items using Magic Boxes, regardless of price.Any remaining active, unlimited-quantity listings using Magic Boxes will be unlisted, regardless of price.I hope everybody is ready and has gotten their outbox problems resolved!
  6. Gabriel, What you have to do is this: Once you upload the new folder with the new item(s) in it, find the listing in your "Manage Listings" list. Click the "Actions" button next to it. Go down to "Edit" and click it. You will get the listing screen. Click the "Edit Associated Object" button. In the list you will get, find the new folder you just uploaded. Once you find it, click "Choose" next to it. Then when the item pop-up disappears, scroll down to the bottom of the item listing edit page and click "Update." Once you do all that, your new folder will be delivered instead of the old folder and your old folder will now be shown in the "Unassociated Items" inventory above the "Manage Listings" inventory. You can now safely delete the old folder so it isn't sitting in your "Unassociated" list forever. You will have to do that for every item you need to update. Good luck!
  7. Howdy, North Below your thread is another started by RiderDavis. He had the same problem and then came back and said: Dear Highly Frustrated Merchants, After TWO Jira cases and absolutely no actual help of any kind, I resolved this problem... And this is how... I closed SL, logged out fo the website. Logged into the website. ==> Changed the website language from English to French, and back to English again. Logged into Second Life... And magically MONTHS AND MONTHS later... ...I am now using Direct Delivery. Please... PLEASE try this. I truly do not know how... But it might save your hiney like it did mine. I know it sounds silly, but it helped his and another's boxes. If it DOESN'T work for you, I suggest you open a support case and have them reset your outbox for you.
  8. Howdy, Iva Once you remove your magic boxes, go to the old Xstreet site (from Merchant Home page, click "Magic Box Status," click "Cancel" on the pop-up you'll receive telling you that Xstreet is closed) scroll down to "Registered Servers," and delete each one showing there. Then go back to your Merchant Homepage, and click "Manage Listings." Click "Sync Marketplace with Magic Boxes." (Be sure you have no magic boxes rezzed inworld) Give the system a few minutes to go through that process, and all your old magic box listings in your unassociated inventoy will disappear! You do NOT have to sit there for hours deleting each one individually. Good luck!
  9. Gabby Handrick wrote: Just a clarification, I am actually a Mister.:-) I agree it will be interesting to see how many more people have experienced this. Sorry, Gabby Dude. I fixed my original post so I didn't call you a chick to start with. Heheh!
  10. Howdy, Gabby Dude! I can certainly understand THAT! (..."I have a few people on my friendslist still that I know have died in real life, I really don't want to see any of them coming online.") My business partner and one of my closest friends in SL died in March last year. If I were to log on and see his account showing online (he's still on my friends list also), I would absolutely flip out! I've not had this happen to me before, so I can't offer any explanations as to why or how this happened to you. But I'll be watching this thread closely to see if anybody else has any insights. /me shudders at the thought
  11. Howdy, Trinity I've seen the "Transfer Failed" message many times recently. When that comes up, I usually wait a few minutes and the item(s) disappear from my merchant outbox. Once they do that, regardless what the server said, there they are in my Manage Inventory screen and I'm able to list them with no problems. I've also seen the "Success!" screen and the items take a while to disappear from the outbox. I've never had one NOT disappear after some time. When I first saw those, like you, I kept clicking the "Send To Marketplace" button. Then when I went to my Manage Inventory screen, ka-boom! there were two or three copies of it sitting there for me to delete. Also, I've heard that if you are trying to upload while you are up on a workstation in the sky, that that can cause you problems, so you might try going down to ground level and try, though, why that makes any difference I have NO idea. Also, try teleporting to different sim. Maybe a quiet Linden Water sim. I've tried that and it helps sometimes too. Good luck!
  12. Howdy, Skye Interesting question. I've never sold limited quantity items either, but, from your description, if it were me, I would list one. Wait until it sold, list the next, wait until IT sold, and then list the third one. That would solve the system flagging your items each time. Hopefully, there will be somebody come in sooner or later that will know exactly how to do this without having to wait and relist all the time. I'll be interested to hear the proper procedure as well...just in case I ever need to sell limited quantities also.
  13. Miss Julie If the items in your "Unassociated" are the old magic box listings that have been replaced by your direct delivery, delete your magic boxes from inworld, log into the old Xstreet website (go to your Merchant Home page, click "Magic Box Status," click "Cancel" on the pop-up you'll receive telling you that Xstreet is closed) look at the bottom at "Registered Servers," force delete each one, then log back into your regular Merchant Home and click "Manage Listings." Then click "Sync Marketplace with Magic Boxes." Once that completes, give the system a few mintues to update and all those hundreds of unassociated items will disappear. You do NOT have to spend hours deleting them one at a time. Good luck!
  14. Linden Lab states that they will open up those banner ads to marketplace merchants at some point. If, at ANY time, ANY other merchants banner ad appears on MY store page, I am going to be one VERY pi$$ed off individual! We merchants can have our banner ads (I'll never ever spend money on one), but they should be relegated to ONLY the main marketplace page or search pages that have many different merchants products and NEVER appear on any one merchants store page.
  15. Good Mornin, Miss Sassy! Ah-Ha! I see what you mean. Well then if that's what she's doing, that would be okay. I've purchased items even inworld that have called a server and delivered it as soon as I rezzed it. Especially for those of us who have business partners, that is a great system. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
  16. Mo, I understand that the updating process for direct delivery is more steps now (and more time) than it was for you with the magic boxes, but, MY concern would be for my customers. You don't want to spend the extra time and energy to do actual updates, but, most all marketplace customers shop there because they don't want to have to go to an inworld store, wait for everything to rez, locate the item they want, suffer through lag, and THEN finally get what they came for. For those customers, it's a convenience thing. Now, you're gonna be having them pay for a "voucher" and still come inworld to your store to GET what they've already paid for. They may as well have just come inworld to start with. In addition to that, you're going to give Linden Lab 5% of the value of that voucher in commission. Or...are you planning to increase the price of your items by 5% to cover that commission cost? (this is against the TOS by the way) I would be afraid, given this knowledge, that your sales might suffer because who wants to pay on the marketplace and then go shopping inworld anyway? Marketplace shoppers are used to getting their purchase instantly right where they are, rezzing it (or the box it comes in), and being done with it! Me personally? I like inworld shopping. I like seeing all the different store designs and products and I would NEVER purchase some crazy "voucher" just to go shopping at an inworld store. This is where MY concern would be if I were you.
  17. I use AdBlock Plus also. I don't see them now, won't see them in the future, and haven't seen any of them to begin with. You know what they say about a fool and their money, folks...
  18. mikka Luik wrote: Can vouch at least one person on the list won it...and didn't know until they glanced at their transaction history. No mention of anything odd apart from the surprise. Really? The web page states that one has to check back every day to see if they won and to collect the prize. If they don't, the amount gets increased by $100L and the round begins again until a winner DOES claim the prize. I don't see, given all that, that someone would get a surprise in their transaction history. Either they claimed the prize, or they didn't.
  19. Howdy, Miss Mo! I migrated to Direct Delivery on the day it went active nearly a year ago, and you're right, the part about deleting the old magicbox items was a huge pain in the youknowhat. It took me a long time to get all 300 I had at the time, deleted. In fact, ALL of us had that problem. Fortunately, a work around was discovered to delete them all at once so one doesn't have to sit there deleting one at a time. Once all your items are migrated over and only your old magicbox items are in your "Unassociated Items" list, delete your magicbox(s) inworld and then go to the old XstreetSL site. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and remove your box from that list. Then go to your "Manage Listings" page and click the "Sync Marketplace with Magic Boxes" button. Once you do that, the old magicbox items will disappear. So that will take care of that looooong deleting process you've been having! As far as updating your items...maybe you could add version numbers to your items? Such as: Ring Of Total Submission v3.1.5 to Ring Of Total Submission v3.1.6 That way, when you update, it is easy to locate the new item from the old one. Actually updating to the new item is easy, but, you need an easy way to determine which is which since the system will not automatically change the old to the new when you upload it like it did during your original migration. Just upload your new item in the Merchant Outbox, go to the "Manage Listings" page, find the OLD item, click "Actions" and then "Edit," then scroll down to "Edit Associated Object." Scroll down that list to the NEW item and click "Choose" next to it. Then click the Update button at the bottom. You're done. Except you'll need to delete the OLD item from the "Unassociated" list. I know that's a lot more labor intensive than your old system, but, it's what we have to do now if we want to have a marketplace store. I wouldn't migrate back to the magic boxes now that you've already changed everything over. Especially since Linden Lab has now given you a deadline before they make the magic box system stop working. The only way I can think of offhand to migrate back is to delete and then recreate each listing and me-oh-my what a pain THAT would be! I hope some of this has helped, Miss Mo. I can certainly feel your frustrations cause I went through them too. Let me know if I can help further. Marcus H. ps: I love your store and your items! I've bought several things from you since I started in SL in 2008, and still wear your Dom ring, and I think your ROTS is the best of its kind!
  20. I just checked and she's changed her review to 5 stars with a nice comment.
  21. Howdy, Miss Czari! I was wondering about you when I saw the notice about the cut-off date posted. I wondered if you had managed, somehow, to get a new computer that is SSE2 enabled. I see here you haven't, and I really feel for ya, my dear. I guess just do as Dakota says and let your listings go offline until you CAN get your PC updated. I hope it isn't long, cause, you know...losing all those sales would suck. I don't know about letting someone you trust log on for you and do it. From what I've always known, the Lab watches that sort of stuff like a hawk and if your account logs in from who-knows-where all of a sudden, they will lock yours and theirs accounts until they figure out what the heck is goin on. Even if there's an off chance they wouldn't catch it this one time, I wouldn't want to take the risk of not being able to log in for the amount of time it would take them to figure it all out. OK, I know... ^ that's a humongous run on sentence (or paragraph). I had a lot to say in that one. In any event, I hope you can get your PC updated quickly so you don't lose too many sales. I know *I* would hate that. *HUGS* to you, Miss Czari!
  22. Howdy, Dart. I completely agree with everything you've said in this thread. Since it has been against the Linden Lab TOS to link to external, non-SL websites and Linden Lab is now breaking that TOS, may we all now begin linking to non-SL sites as well? I use Ad-Block Plus, so I don't see the banner ads, but, I turned it off earlier for a few minutes just to have a look at them to see what exactly they looked like. I didn't like the way they made the site look, so I turned ABP back on and it will stay on from herein forward. I would never give them a click-through unless, like you said, tiers went down and when (as you said) "...they clean up their act on some of the other money bits which should happen any day now."
  23. Nobody has to put up with them. Activate (or install) Ad-Block Plus on your browser, and you'll never see them again. I have it active, and all I see is space above the main header on the website. So, I'm not bothered.
  24. With "Ad Block Plus" turned on, the ads are not there. I turned if off just to see, and they ARE there. So stupid. :matte-motes-angry:
  25. Howdy, duLuna In MY opinion, multiple layers are FAR from obsolete. I don't wear tattoos, but my body hair is on my tattoo layer. So, for me, I like ALL layers when I buy clothes. Sometimes I interchange things and if something only came in a shirt layer (for example), it might not work in how I want to set things up at that time. If I were you, I would make all layers and leave the tattoo layer alone. I think it should be for tattoos and body hair for the guys, and tattoos for the ladies. So in the example you gave: Jacket, Shirt, Undershirt, Underpants, Pants, Gloves, Socks. But that's just me.
