  1. Howdy, Ivan Dude For the record, I have almost 700 and use Google Chrome. :matte-motes-big-grin:
  2. I'm off work now and checked my listings again. They have all stayed in General, so mine seems to be fixed. I'll still double check them once a day until the Lab indicates the problem has been resolved, though. Check to be sure you're bulk editing properly. Step 1 - Change the "Items Per Page" to 100 Step 2 - Find the items listed incorrectly and check the box next to the date to select the items that are wrong Step 3 - At the very bottom of the page, find the drop down box marked "Modify Selected Items" and change the drop down to "Edit" Step 4 - Click the "Go" button Step 5 - Once the edit window appears, check the box next to "Maturity Level" and click the "General" button (if General is already hilighted, click the "Moderate" button, and then the "General" button again to make sure it's selected) Step 6 - Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Update." This should solve your problem if you're not willing to wait for Linden Lab to get them all fixed for you in a timely manner. It worked for me! :-)
  3. I just checked and mine are all still marked at General like they should be. I guess we'll have to check them from time to time until this whole mess gets repaired. Thank you for the heads up, Miss Phoebe! @Miss Sassy: I thought about doing that too. The problem I see with waiting for Linden Lab to fix it is that we don't know how long it will take them, and I didn't want my items in adult only category any longer than they had to be. It only took me a couple of minutes to fix, but may take days for the Lab to correct. I don't make much from my store, but I really need what I DO make.
  4. I had quite a few listings that got changed as well. I was able to bulk edit them (1 page at a time) so that they are all back to "General." In the edit window, the maturity category was showing "General," but I clicked "Mature" and then "General" again just to be sure, and then clicked Save. This solved MY problem. Until whatever got broken gets fixed, you can fix your listings this way.
  5. I know of several places that have the "Sit & Win" machine in their stores. When I had an inworld store, I went looking for one also. I found out that the maker pulled the item and no longer sells them. I don't know why. So, as far as *I* know, you cannot get one of them any longer and the only ones inworld now, are the ones purchased from him before he stopped selling them. :matte-motes-frown:
  6. Good Morning, Rosaline! It's actually quite easy. Darrius Gothly created a .pdf with instructions on how to do just that. Find it HERE.
  7. Good Mornin, Ren! I just wanted to let you know that your suggestion did the trick! I was able to take photos just like I wanted using the Ctrl-0 trick! Thanks again! Marcus

Ren Toxx wrote: Change your camera's angle of view (Ctrl + 0 narrows it, Ctrl + 8 widens it, and Ctrl + 9 resets it) in conjunction with actually moving it closer or farther from your face, until you manage the desired closeup without the associated perspective distortion you describe. Most likely in your case you'll need to narrow the angle about two or three steps - therefore two or three presses of Ctrl + 0 Thank you, Ren! I'll give that a try in a bit and let you know if that worked!
  9. Howdy, Everbody! I have just completed work on some new eyes. All the creation work is done, but I have no idea how to photograph them so that the vendor graphic looks nice. I've tried different angles, close up's, distances, and every snapshot looks terrible. I wear a cowboy hat inworld and in closeup shots with the angle up towards my eyes, my hat looks like it's miles too big for my head. So, I took it off. Then my forehead looked huge. It was a mess. :-) I'd appreciate any help you can give on how to photograph eyes so they look natural and are close enough in the photo so that customers can actually see the color and details. Thanks in advance! Marcus
  10. When it comes right down to it, Syle, I see only two choices when it comes to this TOS. Either accept them and go on enjoying SL like we've done for years...or close down your store, delete your inventory, and close your account. Linden Lab isn't going to change the TOS back to what it was in the past. That part is over and done with. The group that was started not long after the new terms went into effect, the UCCSL, has proven to be a farce and ineffectual getting anything done. So, the choices again: Stay and enjoy, or Go. I choose to stay.
  11. Howdy, Haze! Yes, Homestead sims are the same size in square meters as a regular full prim sim. They can only hold one quarter of the prims though. A full sim holds 15,000 prims. Homesteads, 3,750. So 1/4. I don't see any reason you would have HAD to have a commercial parcel to have a public beach. Commercial parcels (sims) are made for stores and shopping. If you rented a homestead sim, you could have ALL that so long as the sim owner allows it and since you would be the only tenant on the sim, I don't see why they would object.
  12. Ilyra Chardin wrote: When we spoke about it in the group, we thought 40 or 100 dollars US as a one-time fee. That might stop the bulk of the scammers. And it would certainly reduce the volume of stores on MP, hopefully keeping the legitimate ones. Anyway, it was a thought. That's my two cents (L$5) There is no way in H.E.doublehockeysticks I would give Linden Lab ANY more than I do now in upload costs and transaction fees. $40 to $100US?? That's a colossal joke! Because of the current TOS, I am not doing any uploads, but, when and if it gets changed, I have over L$15,000 in texture uploads to do currently (and I'm still creating so there will be more than that). If some sort of fee like you suggest were actually installed, it would force me out of business because there is no way I could pay it. I make enough in sales to cover my home parcel tiers and have a little spending money inworld, but, that's all. No...I say absolutely not.
  13. My roommate is a resident in SL as well, and he has a very frustrating (if interesting) problem. He demonstrated this for me last night, on the very computer I am on now and on which I also log in and use SL. He was on the ground standing there. Began walking down the sidewalk. Suddenly, he took off in flight! Arms and legs flailing, he went higher and higher until he double click teleported back down to the ground. He then teleported up to the building platform he uses. We noticed that, as he was standing there, he was hovering a little above the platform. Then, two steps, and off he went again! A double click teleport was needed to get him back to the platform. I use this same computer for SL, and I've never ever had this happen to me. He wondered if it was the new mesh shoes he was wearing. He took them off, tried a few steps, and up and away he went again! Whatever is causing this is triggering the "falling" animation because each time his arms and legs start flailing around. Has anybody ever had an issue like this before? Any suggestions on a resolution? What gets me is that this is the same computer I use, the exact settings I use (we use the latest Firestorm), and MY avatar never does this.
  14. This from Kylie Sabra (just posted on Google Docs) HERE makes a LOT of sense. "<snip> Bear in mind, this is a business, and they have no obligation to disclose their business plans. Therefore, speculation about the whys and wherefores is not productive. The UCCSL will continue to assert pressure on Linden Lab until we reach resolution." All the "what does this mean? what are they doing with that?" conversation isn't getting us anywhere. To my fellow merchants/creators...if you haven't joined the UCCSL group, please do so at once!

(Bolding mine) I find "commercially exploit" a very curious phrase. To me, "exploit" has a negative connotation. Thank you for posting this, Toy. Exploit here would be used as a legal term. It can have both a positive and a negative connotation determined by context. I do think in this context the positive connotation is meant and that really it is a good word in this case. http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/exploit I agree, Perrie.
  16. OK...I agree with that, Toy. I don't understand again why Linden Lab NEEDS full rights to everything from the beginning of time to operate.
  17. Medhue Simoni wrote: In my eyes, the main concern is that LL is making almost full rights claims to our content. Now, sure LL is a business and there is a certain amount of trust we need to give them. That said, LL is just a corporation, which are bought and sold, and can live forever. By claiming almost full rights to our work, LL is jeopardizing all of our futures. They may not choose to screw us, but if they sold the corporation and all it's assets, or they went bankrupt, our content would end up being in the hands of some1 else, who might not care. For this reason, I feel that SL's current TOS language is extremely dangerous. Well then the only course of action that *I* can see because of this, Medhue, is to completely cease and desist all content creation in Second Life. Right now, I'm not willing to stop, delete all my inventory, close my account, and send a DMCA takedown notice for all my previously sold content. Is that the course of action you are advocating?
  18. Yeah, Toy Dude, I agree. What's YOUR feelings on the sell, re-sell clause?

(Bolding mine) I find "commercially exploit" a very curious phrase. To me, "exploit" has a negative connotation. Thank you for posting this, Toy. The way *I* read it, Miss Czari, is that this is so: "<snip> CONTENT CREATORS to commercially exploit their intellectual property through user-to-user transactions across Linden Lab's other products and services <snip>" Meaning that they are working on the ability for we merchants/content creators to sell in Desura (if we wish). Which I find a good thing. The part that bothers ME is this: "...<snip> the concerns of Second Life content creators, specifically protecting content creators’ intellectual property ownership while permitting Linden Lab to, among other things, act as an agent of content creators (such as yourselves), licensed to sell and re-sell such content." So here we go with this sell, re-sell thing again. I blink at this even though the lawyers in the UCCSL meeting stated that this is not something to worry about. On edit: Unless this means that they have to have the rights to sell and re-sell to even be able to list our products on the Marketplace now. *shrugs* I'm all adrift over here.
  20. Drake1 Nightfire wrote: <snip> You keep dragging the UCCSL into it. I am not a part of that group. <snip> You should consider joining the group, Drake. They are driven to try to get Linden Lab to revoke/revert the TOS back to what it was before with regard to our IP rights. It's a worthwhile endeavor and will be a benefit to ALL of us. I make textures (among other things). I have not stopped creating either. I love making textures for SL. However, I have not uploaded any texture packs to sell since this new TOS debacle started. Hopefully, we can get this all turned around and when/if we do, I'm gonna have a LOT to upload. :-) I also build with prims and I haven't stopped doing that either. I really enjoy that too. But, here again, I haven't boxed anything up, taken photos, and created a listing for anything. Yes, I know that the Lab can grab my prim builds out of my inventory if they want to and start selling them. But, they aren't textured or anything (I use local textures to make sure what I've got is looking good inworld) so if they want an untextured pile of prims all stuck together, more power to them I guess. Understand...I am just a small potatos merchant in SL. I make enough to pay tier on my home parcel and have some spending money inworld is all. I don't make enough to cash out lindens from SL to paypal. I'm guessing you do, however, since you say you can't afford to stop creating. So I understand where you're coming from, Bro. What I don't think you're understanding is that we're not out to make anybody feel bad for not halting all creating endeavors. I didn't read anything in Miss Trinity's posts that were "Drake Bashing." I think you're reading more into her words than are there and taking it all personally.
  21. Yes, Chic. I listened to the recording of the meeting as I was unable to attend and when asked the very question about items uploaded BEFORE or AFTER the new TOS took effect, the lawyers stated..."Everything in your inventory. There is nothing stating, in the new TOS, only items uploaded after the effective date are subject to these new terms." Linden Lab would have one heck of a time checking every asset on the servers to see when it was uploaded, and so I highly doubt they have the manpower or time to go through the millions of assets on their servers. No...it's everything since the beginning of time. Everything in everybody's inventories. I'm having a hard time understanding how using a brush to create a texture for upload to SL would be a problem for Renderosity.
  22. Howdy, Apelles I've said this before, and I'll say it again... Never, never, ever pay for a subscription! Linden Lab's history with them is horrible. Too many times I've heard of this very issue with charges and so I have absolutely no faith that the billing system operates like it should with them. Taking out those subscriptions is just playing with fire, in MY opinion. Sooner or later, your linden balance is going to get depleted by the system, and who knows when the commerce team will get it refunded back to you. Back in 2010, I tried a couple of subscriptions for about 6 weeks. I had no appreciable sales increase because of them. From that experience, I have no confidence that they even do anything for you. "You are just throwing your money away." was my thought on the whole subject after those 6 weeks. So, I cancelled them, and haven't looked back. Then I started seeing all these crazy threads coming up about accounts being charged thousands of lindens in error. Whew! I got away from THAT mess just in time! I'm just a small Merchant here in SL. I don't make enough to do any payouts. But, I haven't had to buy lindens in a long long time either. So, my sales take care of everything I want to do in Second Life. But this payout thing...yeah, that's another ridiculous problem I'm glad I don't have to deal with. I hope the Lab gets everything fixed and FAST for those of you dealing with their crap right now. It IS too stupid for words.
  23. Czari Zenovka wrote: One of the best parts of that meeting was meeting you "in person" Marcus. *Smiles* Awww...well thank you, Miss Czari. I was really glad to meet you in person too! :smileyvery-happy:
  24. I have read through all the threads. I was at the emergency meeting when the UCCSL was created, and I'm a member of that group now. I am amazed at how organized it has become in such a short time span! We even have a google docs location we can share documents, edit them, and get them available to all members instantly! And even with all that, I'm still at the "I don't know WHAT to think." stage. There have been theories, speculations, and even some "educated guesses" as to what Linden Lab's reasons are for this huge fiasco. I don't know how to feel about it all because (without some sort of official statement from the Lab), we can't know what's really going on here. I have a lot of respect for all the creators and merchants who've made SL what it is today. I've become one of them. Even if I am just a little little guy in the whole scheme of things. Still though, I'm proud of what I've accomplished in my nearly 6 years in Second Life. Small, or no. And so here we are, wondering where our futures lie in this wonderful virtual world because Linden Lab has taken this route with the Terms Of Service we all have to agree to have access to our creations. I don't have the answers for you, folks. I wish I did. I probably shouldn't have posted to this thread because I have nothing to constructively contribute to it. But the above are my feelings on all this up to this point. Have I stopped creating? No. I absolutely LOVE making textures and building, so I won't EVER stop. But, I haven't uploaded any new texture packs since the TOS got changed on us suddenly either. Once all this gets resolved to our satisfaction, I'm going to have a LOT to get out there! Toy Dude, Miss Czari, Darrius, Perrie (and the rest)...I stand with you all in this. Concerned, confused, aggravated, angry, and downright pi$$ed off about this whole affair.
  25. Czari Zenovka wrote: Good day to you, Mr. Hancroft. It is good to see you in the forums. BTW: I am LOVE, LOVE, LOVING my new PC!!!!!! I'm still saying, "Oooooo, I can turn the graphics to high..ACK, I didn't know that light looked like that (starting to channel Gadget here...lol)" and "Ooooo, I can slide my draw distance way high and NOT lag...LOVE THIS." Happy, happy, happy!!! Well howdy, Miss Czari! I'm really really happy that you can see SL in all its glory now! AND use the outbox too! A new computer makes everything all better, I know. I felt the same way when I got this computer new (now several years ago) and I bounced around everyplace too! Now, if we can get Linden Lab to fix this TOS mess, we'll be even better! I've still been making textures and things, but, I just use the local textures settings to see how they look inworld, but, not doing a full texture pack upload. Imma wait till what I upload STAYS mine.
