  1. Howdy, Kalliopi I know of no bugs on the Marketplace that are specific to only those with Resident as a last name. All issues on the MP happen to everybody, so I doubt it has anything to do with her last name. You don't go into enough detail about what is happening when she tries to add new items to her store for me (or anybody else) to help you. If you could give some more details, it would help greatly. As far as deleting her store and starting new, that is not possible. We can delete all the products in our stores, rename it, add in new logos, but that is as far as we can go to "create a new store." I've done that once. But, we can't delete and start all over again. We can probably give you some advice to give to your friend that might help with the problem, but we will need more information do to so.
  2. Howdy, Liana I've been frustrated by each and every one these things too, and I always think to myself; "There's GOT to be a better way to do this." So you are not alone in what you'd like to see done for merchants on the marketplace. When I first started my SL business, I had a business partner and added him in the distributions on all the products we created and I added to the store. Then, he got sick and passed away in real life, and it took me days and days to remove that distribution from all 430 products (at that time) we had in the store. It was frustrating as youknowwhat. Unfortunately, I don't think any of these things are going to be fixed (or changed) any time soon. Others have said the same things, we've discussed them here in the forums, and the processes and problems remain.
  3. Where are you from? Missouri USA When did you join SL originally? August 10, 2008 What have you mainly spent your time doing in SL in the past? I've had a really varied SL past. I was a police officer on a 53 sim continent for a long time, owned a lot of land, been a Master to two boys for over a year, started building and selling in 2010, which is what I do currently. How are you planning to spend your time in SL in 2013? Building, making textures, selling, clubbing when I can, having fun!
  4. Thank you, CTL! All the new notifications are fantastic! Especially love the notice on getting a review posted! :smileyvery-happy:
  5. Howdy, Chovexani You might try resetting the scripts in the chair by going into edit mode on the chair (right click and Edit), then go up to "World" (I think it is) and click "Reset Scripts In Selection." I'm not inworld right now to check the location of that option right at the moment, but, that might solve your problem. I think you have to Modify rights for this to be able to work though. Otherwise, the creator is gonna have to help you.
  6. Howdy, Tester! 8GB RAM and a 2GB video card will work wonderfully well. You should be able to run SL in "Ultra" mode. It's running it wirelessly where you'll have your problem. So much information is transferred between the server and your computer every second that having that info then be transmitted over a radio frequency can/will cause major problems. You should NEVER run SL over a wireless connection. There are a lot of things that can interfere. Always use a corded connection. Other than that...you're good!
  7. Gadget Portal wrote: I've been making a vehicle. I painstakingly math out rotations and positions to make everything fit. I get in and test drive it, then get out I go to add prims, and notice something- all the prims have shifted! Every time I change links on this thing, all the prims move a little bit, or rotate a little bit, sometimes up to 2 or 3 degrees, and movement is sometimes almost as much as .2 meters. Which means when I add prims to this thing and they're straight, the rest of the vehicle looks retarded. WTF is going on? Howdy, Gadget. I used to have prim drift once in a while too, and like you, it drove me up the wall! I discovered that if I built at ground level instead of at 4,000m the prim drift ceased. Are you building up in a skybox/platform? If so, you might go down to ground level and try it there. I still use a platform to build and I haven't seen any drifting in loooong time. I'm wondering also if it could be some of the new code installed through the rolling restarts this last Tuesday. Is your sim an RC or is it the main SL server?
  8. To add to Darrius' post: Also, logging completely out of the marketplace store, restarting the browser, and then logging back in to the marketplace store has helped many solve this problem.
  9. danicah wrote: I am selling something on MP which is being sent as a folder. It contains the clothing and a landmark. If i want to update the clothing or the landmark, how would i do that? Is there a way i can replace some items? Or do i have to upload a new one and start over? Howdy, Danicah Prepare a new folder with the new clothes and/or landmark and upload it with your merchant outbox. Wait three minutes. Go to your Manage Listings page on the marketplace website and find the OLD listing. To the right of the listing name, use the dropdown and click "Edit." Right under the "SL Object Name" you will see a button that says "Edit associated Object." Click that. An Edit Associated list will come up. Find the NEW folder you uploaded and click the "Choose" button next to it. Your new items are now associated with the old listing. Your OLD folder (with the wrong items) will now be shown in your "Unassociated Inventory Items" list. You can now delete the old one and you are done. You might want to make sure the change "took," so before you actually delete it, click the "Actions" button and then click "View Contents." This will show you all the items in that folder so you can make sure it IS the old one. It's probably a good idea to name your new item(s) in the new folder something slightly different than the old one so you can see the differences. If it's the landmark, you could name it something like "storename NEWmain store" Good luck!

The number of incidents where this sort of failure happens for Direct Delivery are much much lower .. almost non-existent. To find out this happened with a DD product opens up a much bigger can of worms. Because Direct Delivery uses a direct "Database Copy" operation to deliver a product, it is supposed to be completely immune to these sorts of failures. The Marketplace should be completely able to detect that a database record was copied, but apparently in this case it did not. In this case, I'm at a loss as what to say .. other than to contact the customer and hope they recognize your loss. But the fact that this happened for Direct Delivery? Yeah ... not good at all! But Darrius we don't know if the failure is much lower or not because we don't get any notices of delivery like we do with Magic Boxes. I really don't have any idea what is actually being delivered or not. I do have rez notices in some things, but not in everything. And comparing rez notices with sales would be another job in itself. Howdy, Miss Pam. Just FYI, I get IM notices inworld (and in e-mail) of every sale that's made on my marketplace store. I'm 100% direct delivery and it's been really nice seeing those notices again. Darrius set me up so that I get those notices again. On edit: Here's an example: [07:46] iGlom RDS Redelivery Box v1.0.7: '*Design Extreme* Tire Treads Textures' delivered from the SL Marketplace as '*Design Extreme* Tire Treads Textures' to <name removed> and was purchased for L$100. This product was delivered by the SL Marketplace.

  12. OK...your explanation helps me better understand the "linden dollars are worthless" statement. I'm not so adrift now, so thanks, Darrius.
  13. Darrius Gothly wrote: Trinity Yazimoto wrote: [snip] ... Are same kind of laws existing in California ? [snip]...Linden Lab will argue that since the L$ is worthless and has no real value, the total loss is zero and thus there is no reason to refund any money... Howdy, Darrius! This always sends me adrift, Darrius. If linden dollars are "worthless tokens," why can't Linden Lab just pass out lindens to everybody when they want them? They're worthless, you know! They don't do that because linden dollars are NOT worthless. They can be cashed out for US dollars using Linden Lab's own Lindex systems. It costs real dollars to purchase them as well. I agree that someone needs to take the matter to court and I think the Lab would lose.

Make what price changes you feel you need to, but realize that some people are still going to get the old/sale prices until all those stale shopping carts are cleared. Hey there, Marcus. Happy New Year! Unless LL discontinues the shopping cart, which is doubtful, people will continue using it. If LL won't pull the shopping cart, the next best thing would be to set a maximum time limit for the shopping cart items to be able to be purchased, let's say something like two weeks. After that time the shopping cart's items would disappear and the customer would need to start over, thus eliminating the stale orders over long periods of time. Both choices require some coding, so doubt either of those will happen. Just wishful thinking. Something else I see often on the General Forums is a customer complaining that part of their MP order was delivered but other items werent, with the "conclusion" reached by the customer that the items that were not delivered were due to "unscrupulous merchants." 98% of the time this is due to the undelivered items being in the "waiting to be delivered" que of the merchant. Howdy, Miss Czari! And Happy New Year to you also!! :smileyvery-happy: You and I are in complete agreement about this whole thing. Coding is definitely NOT the marketplace team's strong suit. Ack!
  16. Howdy again, Miss Lisa. Yes. The only people that will get the old price from now on will be those who put your item into their carts while the old price was still active. Anybody else who purchases it instantly or puts it in their cart after you change the price will pay your NEW price.
  17. Howdy, LisaMarie Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about this problem. Those people also put your item in their shopping carts during the old price promotion, and so they too are getting the old price. I have heard of people putting things in their carts and not completing the transaction(s) for several weeks and months. If someone did that on your product, they will ALSO get the old price. It's happened to me also. It's happened to all of us at some point. The "stale shopping cart" is what makes the marketplace a poor place to have time sensitive sales because all one has to do is put the item in their cart during the sale and make the purchase at a much later time, if need be, and they still get the sale price. The same goes for raising prices, if we merchants need to. I wish people would not use the shopping cart because of this problem, but, they do and will and price changes don't affect them. Make what price changes you feel you need to, but realize that some people are still going to get the old/sale prices until all those stale shopping carts are cleared.
  18. Howdy, Valiant As everybody knows, the SL Marketplace has been plagued, for a very long time, with many problems. From database issues to failed deliveries, the marketplace is probably the worst e-commerce site with which I've ever had to deal. I think if Amazon DID buy the marketplace, those issues would promptly disappear and so I have no problem with it if such an event did occur. Having to relist 513 items (should we have to do that) would be a daunting task, but one that I would gladly undertake. We can guess and speculate all day long about what might happen, but, we won't know for positive until we see an announcement from Linden Lab.

The moderator IM'ed me and told me to stop reporting the spam posts cause it just makes more work for them and they already know about the spam and they are working on getting rid of it all. From now on...I'll leave the spam reporting to the rest of you and YOU can get into trouble. I've had my butt chewing for the year. And to think...I thought the moderators would appreciate being notified of it all. Come to find out, they don't.
  20. Howdy, Toy Dude! I'll be interested to hear whether or not your counts go up with the enhancement back to "Active." Personally, I wouldn't have spent the money, but, maybe this is worth the L$899 just to conduct this experiment. I know how you feel about having a "temporary lapse of common sense" cause I've had that a few times in SL also (not to mention real life. HA!) As far as the enhancement showing expiring right after changing it to "Do Not Renew," I think that's probably typical and agree that it is a poor word choice to use when it isn't going to automatically renew. You're braver than me, Mister. After all the troubles people have had with listings going haywire, colossal charges from Linden Lab for past "enhancements," and all the rest, I would have been way too cautious to attempt such a thing. Listing enhancements, in MY opinion are one of the single most dangerous financial transactions one can engage in with the Lab.
  21. Czari Zenovka wrote: Great info, Cade. I didn't know one could find out if an item had been relisted. And to the OP, I also agree that, based on your tone here, more than likely the item was relisted. It that is the case please do report this. Bad merchants reflect poorly on all of us. ^^ This too.
  22. iCade wrote: Something else that COULD be it...the Merchant could have deleted the item, re-uploaded it as a new item with the same photos, text, etc. If they did that, all reviews (good and bad) would be gone. This is against the Marketplace TOS, so if THAT'S the case, you can file a report on that item with Linden Lab and it will get taken down. This sounds VERY possible considering the OP can no longer review the product. Having your review earased for whatever reason does not take away your ability to review the same product again. I strongly belief it's a new listing. What you, the OP, can do is to check your MP order history. Click on the link to the product that you reviewed. If that link is leading you to a dead end, and not to the correct listing then it's a sure giveaway the creator deleted and re-listed their product. Ah Ha! I forgot about this, Cade. Good point! To the OP...do exactly what Cade says here and let us know what you find out.
  23. Howdy, Nikolai There are many reasons why a review can be removed from a listing. Most often, it is because the review is "off topic." Did you try to contact the seller to discuss your problems and see if a solution could be arrived at before you left a poor review? I would hope that when you start selling on the Marketplace, you would want your customers to contact you if they had a problem with one of your products before they left a bad review, so you could fix whatever issue they discover. Did you rant and rave about other things in your review? Did you use foul language? These are things that will get your review removed on the double quick. Merchants have the ability to file a request with the commerce team to have a review removed. There are several options we can choose from. Then, someone from the commerce team goes and looks at the review. If they agree with the merchant, away goes the review. Obviously, the merchant filed a removal request, the commerce team read your review and agreed that it should be removed. And so...it's no more. Something else that COULD be it...the Merchant could have deleted the item, re-uploaded it as a new item with the same photos, text, etc. If they did that, all reviews (good and bad) would be gone. This is against the Marketplace TOS, so if THAT'S the case, you can file a report on that item with Linden Lab and it will get taken down.
  24. Howdy, Miss Arwen Yes, SSE2 is the problem. I have two computers. One is a Compaq Presario that I got new many years ago. The other is a Gateway gaming computer that is only a couple years old. The difference in the performance of the two is astonishing. My Compaq does not have the SSE2 instructions and so can not now, nor will it ever be able to run a viewer 3 viewer. It runs Phoenix just fine, but trying to start Firestorm throws an error message every time. It. Just. Can't. DO. It. I suspect, Czari's computer is the same as my Compaq. She won't ever be able to run Firestorm on her computer because it CAN'T run it. Miss Czari, I hope Santa sees you've been a good girl this year and brings you a whole new system that you can put Firestorm on and actually use the Merchant Outbox! :)
