  1. I don't understand why everybody is so anxious and restless over this upcoming "announcement" from another forum dweller. I've read through this thread and my first thought was that he/she is going to announce a new product they've been working on and is using the GD forum to generate excitement about it, which, if that's the case, is a gross misuse of the forums. Qwalyphi is not a Linden (so far as I know), so he/she would have no further inside information about anything Linden Lab than the rest of us. This is all just hype for something he/she has done and wants to generate excitement to sell. If I'm wrong about this, I'll be the first to apologize, but, I don't see how any forum dweller could have any influence on ANYTHING having to do with these forums. Linden Lab has shown many times that they don't care what we say OR think OR want.
  2. I added two new items in the past two days and I didn't have any trouble getting them to update properly. I know they have been working a LOT on the Marketplace systems so maybe something they've done has your account messed up. I would try logging out of Marketplace, clearing my browser cache (you never know what kind of craziness THAT thing holds onto), close my browser, reopen my browser, and then relogging back into the Marketplace. Try to do the edit again. Did it work? Did it give you the error again? Let us know, okay?

I have one listing there at the moment that’s showing the impressions and click throughs and working fine. I just ordered another one to show on the home page. Does it normally take a few hours to start showing or should it be instant? I only just started to gain back the courage to start using listing enhancements again after we moved over from Xstreet I must admit I did order another category listing enhancement some time last month and that never seemed to show up in the “Listing Enhancement Performance" page it was only $999L so I let it slide and just deleted it but this new attempt is starting to concern me abit. Howdy, Hoohaa. I have heard reports from other merchants who paid for their "enhancements" who never once saw their product listed on the home page (or anyplace else for that matter). With all the terrible billing problems happening now with "listing enhancements," I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole. You'll hear many differing opinions here, but, mine is that "listing enhancements" are worthless and are nothing but a way for Linden Lab to take your money. Let us know if you do ever see your "enhancement" on the front page, but, I doubt you will. MY advice...forget about these "listing enhancements." They are not worth the pixels they are made of.
  4. I hear ya, Toy Dude! Personally, I think one of the most important things to look at (besides WHAT'S selling) is the total "Item Clicks." In other words, how many times was my item looked at, and from the sales, I can extrapolate the total success of the items description, keywords, etc. Now, with the Top Selling report being fubar'ed, it's not an easy thing to do. "Anyway..... regardless if LL were to fix the reporting or outsource it..... this is still one of the oldest broken xstreet feature that LCT still has not addressed and ironically one of the easiest things they could fix.. Yet..... THEY DONT!" Exactly. They don't. And why not?? "It tell all of us exactly the level of Developer Competence we are dealing with regarding the MP staff." ^^ This

I tell ya folks, I would cancel every single "enhancement" until they get this all fixed. Who knows how long that will be though? Let me ask you this... If you were to transfer all your lindens to another account so they couldn't take any more money away from you, would your balance go into the negative? Would Linden Lab pull money from your credit card attached to your account? Or would all your "enhancements" just cease because you didn't have the money in your account to pay for them?
  6. Thanks for that info, Miss Sassy. Yes, I've always downloaded my CSV files so I have those. I just always liked the "Times Viewed" list in the Top Selling report. I guess it's a moot point now anyway, since what they did is done. I just wish they hadn't f-ed it up like they did.
  7. Well howdy, Miss Sassy! Correct me if I'm wrong, but, if I were to set up ANS today, the only data that would be available to me was the data sent to me tomorrow and onward, right? All the other sales and item views information from day one of my store would never be sent to me. Or, is there a way to have the system send all that to me at once? @Darrius - Good to see you, Buddy! @Toy - I'm with you too, Bro!
  8. Yeah, you are right, Rya! I'd like to see that too. I was just going through the report again and things are just scattered through it with no rhyme or reason and there's no way to sort them. Before whatever change the commerce team made to that report, I used it. Now...it's just useless.
  9. Howdy, Everbody! Recently, I've seen some changes in our Top Selling Products report that I don't like. I like this report because it also shows the number of times viewed on each of our items. I can get a sense of how well my keywords are working and if I need to change anything, by the number of (or lack of) click-throughs. The way it used to list everything was the newest items were on the last page. For some reason now though, they are not and are buried somewhere deep in the report and we have to look at page after page after page just to find them. Of course this drives me up the wall, and I've just given up trying to find things. Is there a setting somewhere I'm not aware of that will fix the way the items are listed in that report? Or am I, like, you know...out of luck?
  10. Pamela Galli wrote: I have 19 items stuck, and altho I had planned to renew some of them when able, now I do not want any of them -- I have cancelled all my other enhancements. Howdy, Miss Pam! I hope you transferred all those lindens to another account from the refunds in case the system decides to go crazy and recharge everybody again so you don't lose all that hard earned money for a second time!

  12. Perhaps, Miss Pamela, but why would a merchant want to show, even in a thread on a forum such as this (comprised of other merchants who are potential customers) that he or she is a royal PITA to deal with and is disrespectful to potential customers? In MY book, the loss of even ONE customer is unacceptable. ESPECIALLY since the loss is based, not on the quality of my products, but how I treat those who buy from me (or who potentially will). I worked in retail for over 15 years. As a manager, I hated telling a customer "No." or that I couldn't do anything for them. Invariably, they would call the corporate office and complain about me and I would get a call from my District Manager ordering me to take care of that customer because they didn't want to lose the customer and the sale. So, I learned early on to just do what the customer wanted to start with. But I was NEVER rude, accusatory, condescending or hateful to any of them and we kept them as a customer. So in my opinion, I wouldn't want to lose ANY customer (past or future) because of how I dealt with someone in a thread on a forum. Even IF my business was doing just fine without them. Imagine how it would be doing WITH them!

  14. nuria Augapfel wrote: <snip> BTW, poor Xavier you lost 3 customers...I hope that this night you manage to sleep...LOL, how childish... Nuria, you may think the loss of three customers is trivial, but, since most people who have had bad experiences with retailers (merchants) tells many more people (their friends) of their bad experience, those three people turn out to be many more than that. Not to mention that Xavier has broadcasted for all the world to see (in this thread), his bad judgement and treatment of a person who might have purchased animations which were stolen. I have seen no list presented of the ones Emuna purchased that were stolen. If it were me...I would be extremely upset with myself for losing 3 customers who were then going to tell who knows how many more not to purchase from me. It's never just the one person...it's the one person and anybody else who will listen (or read) about it.

  16. Howdy, Porky. So did I. A whole big lotta LOL's! Hahahaha!
  17. Howdy, Tim! And welcome to SL! The Visa you are using...is it a pre-paid visa card? Linden Lab doesn't like most of those, so if it IS a pre-paid card that might be the problem. The Wal-Mart Money Card (which is a Visa DOES work). When you first key in your payment info, the Lab tries to send through a $2.00 charge to be sure the card is valid. The charge is never completed so in a few days the $2.00 falls off your statement. So, if the card you're using is a pre-paid that the Lab doesn't accept, the charge will fail. Also, did you sign up to be a Premium Member? That has a charge as well and that charge WILL try to go through. I don't know why it took you so many tries just to get signed up for the forums. Did you get some sort of error message?
  18. /me shakes his head in disgust Howdy, Miss Pam. Again, I read your post and the first words outta my mouth were "Oh my god!" Obviously they have no idea what they are doing up in the commerce office at the Lab when it comes to these listing enhancements systems. If I were you, I would transfer every last linden I had in my main account to an alt so they can't take another penny from me until they get it fixed! Yeah, you might have to transfer some back when you need funds for your inworld business expenses, but, jeeze...that would be better than being robbed every other day of thousands of lindens!
  19. Howdy, Darrius! I could not have written a better list myself, Man! I agree completely with all your bullets and I really hope that the Commerce Team and Rodvik himself take them and implement them all. I gotta say...I was surprised as h.e.double-hockey-sticks to see Rod post in this thread. Has he EVER posted in the Merchant forum? No. So I was surprised and happy to see his name come up here. But it will take more than just posting a couple of times saying "We're reading the feedback." for my feelings about the Commerce Team and upper management to change in any significant manner. I envision someone at the Lab reading through our posts and saying out loud to nobody in particular: "No." move down..."No." move down..."No." et cetera, et cetera. They have to read it, understand it, and take action on it. And then TELL us what they are taking action on BEFORE any changes are made. I just hope that's what happens. This small merchant crosses his fingers that Miss Brooke and Rod does what should BE done...from now on.
  20. Howdy, Walt. Creating names in the "FirstnameLastname" format DOES work. Then one could use the display name option to separate the two names. Like so: Username: WaltWeston Display Name: Walt Weston I wish they had never changed the signup process like they did. Now we have to deal with ridiculous AOL type screen names as avatar names in SL. New users don't realize when they are signing up that that crazy account name they came up with will be what people call them inworld. I've seen some people with just numbers as their names! How does one even greet a person with the name 0472185? "Howdy, Zero Four Two!"???
  21. Roswenthe Aluveaux wrote: I was having trouble with my marketplace listings, so I came here, and in the other thread about not being able to list things, someone recommended updating to the new version of the magic box. I did that this morning, and all of a sudden there was a slew of sales. I am wondering if the same problem is happening here. I think that before the upgrade, I was not getting paid or notified of sales and now I am since I upgraded the magic box. Thanks for this information, Roswenthe! @Pamela: Maybe try updating your Magic Box(es) to the "newest" version and see if that helps any. It sure can't HURT. I know it's a pain in the a$$, but, jeeze! All that money! Have your customers responded favoritably to your tin can? I hope they understand and pay you what they had intended to pay in the first place.
  22. Pamela Galli wrote: Okay got a reply from Dakota. She says she is sorry I had trouble with two sales (it was five). And good luck going to those people who got a very nice freebie and convincing/begging them to give you money out of the goodness of their hearts. Really? One person got a free mesh house and mesh kitchen -- why should they pay me for it now? I am paying LL almost $3000 a month in tier, enhancements, commissions, and cashout fees, and I cannot get even this basic level of contracted-for service? I am told "Go collect the payments yourself?" I am done. All those former Commerce Team supporters who have tried to be understanding? And now are bitter? And calling for heads to roll? Move over. /me goes off to get my tin cup and ask anyone if they feel like paying me. Oh my god, she REALLY said that? For you to go and get the money from them yourself?? /me shakes his head in disgust. I'm really sorry, Miss Pam. How unprofessional can you get? @ Dakota Linden (where ever you are): That responce to Pamela's Jira was the worst, most dismissive, unhelpful and unprofessional I've ever heard from a company who handles ecommerce transactions. I have lost all respect I might have had for YOU and others that deal with the Jira's raised by the users of Second Life. I hope you are proud of yourself.
  23. Pamela Galli wrote: Most of my things are already on DD -- when I update something I transfer it. I will transfer the rest today. But yes, there were reports earlier of several people with DD who discovered by chance, when someone contacted them for support, that people were getting deliveries that did not show up anywhere on the orders. Some of those were stale shopping carts but some were not. At this point I want to know if LL intends to honor its part of the deal, and collect the now $60 that they refunded to customers and pay me. Yeah, no doubt on your last sentence there! I really HOPE they do, Miss Pam. It's the only right thing for them TO do. But...I wouldn't doubt that they hide behind their TOS again and say that "...any losses incurred as a result of our systems are not our responsibility and those losses will not be handled by us." (or words to that effect). It's a sad sad thing with Linden Lab.
  24. Howdy again, Miss Pam You realize of course, that this is a scary problem. I'm 100% Direct Delivery now and in the 8 days so far in October, I've enjoyed really good sales days! I don't have any "Delivery Failed" notices listed on my Orders or Transactions reports, but I'm wondering if when Direct Delivery fails, it fails silently. I hope that's not the case, but, hells bells, with the marketplace going like it has been, who knows (besides Linden Lab, and they aren't talkin)? I remember last November this happened with a buddy of mine. He bought a sculpt pack off the Marketplace, received it and then later received a refund. I'd be willing to bet that the order showed as "Failed" on that merchant's transaction report. So, I think this has been going on longer than any of us realize.
