I abandoned my houseboat a couple of weeks ago and have given up waiting for the Moderns release, so I tried for a Log again and landed this lovely one overlooking the Big River.

It doesn't, never has and never was supposed to. But it should. If you pause your search and keep checking the world map until the house you don't want is no longer showing "Linden Home" as the parcel name, then you're safe to try again. Although more likely, you'll find that the theme you want is no longer on the land page, indicating that the one you abandoned was the only one of its type available.

Make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date. I had the same issue last year and that was the problem. She already cleared cache so, no.

I'm not convinced about that (the parts I've bolded). My account was created in June 2006 I went Premium a couple of years ago, for the second time, and I am still getting L$500 a week, even though I have been Premium before, years ago. And there is no mention of such a rule in the wiki link. So either it was a rumour that was never true in the first place, or else it's been quietly changed. Or maybe I'm daydreaming about being Premium before...

I've never been able to get the Firestorm AO to work properly. It will work for a few seconds then just stops and my avatar is stuck in the one stand (not even one animated stand, just stalled in whatever position I happened to be in at the time).

In a word, no. Werehouse does a feral big cat avatar but it's 9 years old and not even mesh.

Well, I am feeling cautiously positive about these. I love the houses themselves (except for the traditional style staircases; @Abnor Mole please tell me that "work in progress" means those staircases are going to get modernised before release? Steel and glass is what they need, not painted wood.) I like the landscaping (what little is present), I just wish there would be more landscaping and fewer houses. I do agree with some others that being so large they will be difficult to decorate within the prim limit. But I'm definitely willing to give them a try.

We don't really know the whole story behind this. We're assuming it's just a regular ol' dance club like so many others, where the group is nothing but an event notice billboard, but in my experience there are only 2 types of club that typically charge a fee to join the group - Exclusive clubs like Frank's Elite, or sex clubs, which charge the fee to give you access to a restricted area. Broad-range activity locations like Tortuga Beach, which charges a fee to join the group in return for additional privileges such as the ability to rez boats and other objects on the region(s). This typically grants similar privileges as a renter, to group members who choose not to rent, they can pay the group fee instead; the one-off fee usually significantly less than a week or two's rent. If the club isn't offering something similar to any of the above in return for the group joining fee, and it really is just an event-notice billboard, then I would question the ethics of the club owner and the sanity of anyone actually joining the group.

I thin its because before BOM, when all skins were on appliers, people got used to having separate head and body skins, and creators likely wanted continuity in their prducts after BOM was released. Having either the head or the body skin on a tattoo layer was the way to do that. I'm not sure its cheaper. Many creators seem to sell head-only skins for as much as they would have charged for a whole one pre-mesh, and then they're charging for the body on top.

His mainland holdings in Campbell Coast are still present and still showing him as owner, so it doesn't appear that he's gone. Maybe he's just downsizing his estate?

I did recommend SL to a couple of friends, way back in 2006 or so. One of them is still here (hi, @Maitimo ). The other one quit after a year or two due to hardware issues. I don't think any of my current friends would be interested but if they were, I would certainly recommend it again.

Only if you can find someone else who is Premium and willing to donate sufficient tier to your group. You effectively need someone else to pay for it. As long as you remain group owner, you will still have full rights to manage the land. However, if the other person changes their mind at any time, and stops paying, you will lose the land without warning.

I actually have a similar sentiment to that in my profile. "If I am showing something off, it's not an invitation. My avatar's appearance is made for my benefit, not yours." Oddly (or maybe not, actually) the number of lewd IMs and sexual come-ons I've received have reduced significantly since I switched body, and made my avatar much more "plus-sized" (of a more realistic rather than exaggerated Kupra-type shape). At first I worried that wearing Erika or Freya and dialling breast size up to near-maximum would be asking for trouble but that hasn't been the case at all. There are always a few who prefer a BBW avatar but apparently nowhere near as many as those who prefer skinnier model types. I'm sometimes Furry, usually a blue horse, with a similar body shape. That gets more positive (and still non-sexual) comments from people with human avatars, and more sexual comments from other furries.

Ok this is a thing with Belleza bodies and it took me a while to figure out, but because Belleza bodies are now modifyable, its an easy fix. The body is set to alpha blend, so it can use alpha mask layers. But this also leads to the problem you mentioned. Parts of the body go invisible when you wear something which also is alpha blended, like hair or lacy clothes, over it. Solution - rez the body on the ground, right click it and go into Edit. In the Texture tab, change the alpha mode from Blended to Masked, and give it a value of 1 or more (I usually set it to about 12, which helps avoid non-alpha spots if the original alpha mask was a bit fuzzy). Re-name the body so you know which one is which, and pick it back up again. You will probably need to do this in a sandbox, unless you own a lot of land with a lot of spare LI.

There is a way to export the files as XML and edit individual parts of them. I tried doing that once. Never again. Never in a million years. The file is HUGE, many pages long, there's so much in there that is not even shape-related, and it's in no particular order, so finding everything you need to change is next to impossible. It was far, far quicker to just do it the old fashioned way by writing your numbers down on a notecard.

This is a skin, not a body. According to the description, it is a skin for the Legacy body. According to the image, it also works with Belleza, Maitreya and Slink. You would need to own already one of these bodies for it to work. However the description is ambiguous, and you would need to try demos to see actually what appliers are really included. Except it seems like the product doesn't even have demos, which is a HUGE red flag, especially for a skin. It probably does not include a face skin either, you would have to buy that separately. No demo = Avoid like the plague. All the other bodies people are recommending - Kupra and Erika - do not use appliers at all so you wouldn't be able to use that skin with them anyway. It's not, but for someone who cannot afford a mainstream mesh body, it's infinitely better than sticking with the Classic body and having almost nothing to wear. Or wearing some obscure cheap mesh body and having literally nothing to wear. You could get a similar shape with Belleza Freya too, and as Belleza bodies are currently half price, its definitely worth looking at right now. Freya has much better clothing support than Kupra. My guess is Freya is third behind Maitreya and Legacy in popularity. Legacy can get pretty thicc too but as the most expensive body on the market, and the hardest to use (even the shopping experience needs an instruction manual) I definitely would not recommend Legacy.

I havent tried Kalhene heads with other bodies (I use Erika body but catwa head). However, while the Kalhene body does both Universal neck and the old fit, the heads are old fit only. So they won't be seamless with a body using Universal. I believe theres a switch on the Maitreya hud to switch back to old style neck fits like Genus - use that.

I've bought abandoned land numerous times and never had to wait as long as seven days. Usually three or four, if you put the request in on a Monday or Tuesday and they get around to it before the weekend. The only time I got bounced back and the land went to auction instead was when it was adjacent to protected roadside. It might be different on land that's newly abandoned, but on land that's been abandoned for months already. they aren't going to wait to see if anyone else wants it.
