Is the Snapshot to Feed still broken? It's not been working for me for at least a couple of weeks. Or have they turned it off purposefully as well as the PMs?

This isn't a case of changes to the SL radio system. It's just that old stations that were broadcasting a few years ago have now closed down. Any list made will gradually become obsolete as stations cease broadcasting. One other thing you can do is install Winamp and use it to browse current Shoutcast radio stations. When you find one you like, click on File and Properties, and grab the url from there. I believe you can get the url from stations played in itunes as well but as I don't use that software I can't be sure.

Cats are strictly carnivorous so there is probably nothing in a big mac that would interest them.

Hovering text in general, in busy places, is a bit of a taboo, regardless of what it says. (Except in some roleplay areas where it's mandatory). Far better to set your preferences (Privacy => Allow only friends and groups to IM me) to allow IMs from friends only, and put a note in your profile to explain.

Furry avatars are very varied and they are easy to modify. For instance you could get a wolf avatar from one place and if you want a different tail you could substitute one from another avatar. There are also tails available separately so you needn't even buy a whole separate avatar just because you like the tail. Clothes like shorts, chains etc would be purchased separately too. A look like the one you are aiming for would be relatively easy to put together in SL. It may not be cheap though.

I have a Linden Home. Can I set the land to Group to enable an alt to "set home" there? Do I have to deed it as well? Is it even possible?

I was born in 2006 and my avatar was last upgraded in about 2008. But then, I'm a furry so there's no real need to upgrade skin etc. I still wear the same old cargo shorts and a t-shirt that I made myself about 6 or 7 years ago. I'll replace the t-shirt when I figure out how to make it in mesh (ie, probably never). It's not that I'm afraid of change, it's more that I have a very specific look that I don't want to change. If I was human it would probably be a very different story.

I am in a very similar position to you. Long-time SL user, also in the UK, drifted away in about 2009 and recently returned to find that none of my old friends ever log in any more and most of the old places I used to hang out have gone (mainly the old Boots Beach, and Manifesto Island).
