  1. Could you elaborate that for me, please? Google wasn't super helpfull, it just told me that people are required to put in certain information like list of ingredients, date and place of manufactoring, etc. Which in my eyes, would be important for safety reasons.
  2. I agree with that! I absolutely do not want to be rich, at all. I don't place much value in money, because I see what happens if others do. I just want a comfortable, content life, which I have. I can afford all my basic needs, which is a priviledge not everyone has, and I can afford some wants - sure, gotta safe some money to afford the bigger ones, but I'm okay with that. I don't need to get everything I want right that second. But the reason I do not want to be rich is - I'd be lonely. Or rather, I know I'd suddenly gain a loooot of new friends, who'd all be super buddy-buddy with me and then ask for favours. I'd propably discover I have more family than I already knew. And that'd make me distrustfull and cautious of every new person entering my life, because deep down, I would be unable to shake of the feeling that they're only there because they want something from me. And it'd not be my good humour. Also, I think the best things in life, those that make you truly, deeply happy, cannot be brought with money. A loving partner in a stable relationship, honest friends, a loving family, and being content with who you are.
  3. Are you compairing the effort to actively explore space and gain understanding of it and the laws of physics - which benefits most of us, with a joyride for an individual that did nothing but causing some short-lived amusement?
  4. Very true! And yeah, a certain anger and frustration does colour my expression about stuff like that many times, heh. Also, even among the super rich, there are people who are not exploitative selfish assholes, of course - but they seem so few and far inbetween that it's kinda hard to keep them in the big picture at times. Also, the evolution you mentioned happens a lot - I think it has something to do with money often being some sort of catalyst of isolation and greed - again, after a pretty high threshold. Preventing them from forming the relationships with the less fortunate, out of, dunno, maybe fear they have to share? There's propably a reason super-rich are mostly friends with super rich. Thanking his workers was lip-service to make him look better than he is. Same why many big corps go the old "Oh, we outsourced that part to a contractor, we didn't know they used childlabour!" - b*tch please, you KNEW the prices for those parts was this cheap because it's using exploitation. But that way, they get around the responsibility and get excused.
  5. Usually the catalyst for NPD is a traumatic event or childhoodabuse - which both my grandma had. So I do understand it'S comming from somewhere, and yes, I do understand that it's a disorder and people don't chose to have them. I don't think you implied that I think of my gran-gran as an inhumane monster (Got that reserved for someone else, who is unlikely to have NPD, heh) - I'm fully aware she has good sides as well. I'm absolutely convinved that she truly, honestly loves and cares about me - it's just the ways she expresses it, and the fluff around it, that's utterly incompatible with me and does actually hurt and harm me. There are narcissists who do recognise their disorder, and try to work against it, that is true! Actually, Narcissists DO have empathy, unlike psychopaths/sociopaths. But it's - due to the disorder - a little skewed and not expressed as a non-NPD person. It may be a little less, tho. Also, are you sure it's not classified as a mental Illness?
  6. No. I have no problem with people getting rich due to smart/hard/honest work. The partner of my grandma is a millionaire. He got that money because he worked hard for it a lot all his life, and made good financial choices. What I see tho, is those people usually aren't super-rich. They usually just have a few millions at best. The super-rich are usually people who get their money by either exploiting their workforce, their customers, or both. I'm against THAT. You may call me bitter, cynic, or just a raging *****, but I lost faith that anyone over a certain threshhold of money has earned it by being honest and fair.
  7. Hrm. In general, I'd like to keep teleportation, for the same reasons many already voiced. It'd just be to cumbersome otherwise, and take away from many things. What I'd like to see, tho, would be maybe a designated landmass with no tp for the specific goal to explore and travel - with no banlines or other methods to restrict movement allowed. Not nessesarily a no-homes-no-shops area, but one that has to be themed, with keeping in mind that everyone can come in and stuff. That way, the people who'd like to explore, or who'd love to live that way, can do so without restricting those who don't.
  8. He should be glad I am not in charge of anything. He'd be in a prison or worse. Propably worse. I'm not a nice person, and I'm *****ing done with the super-rich doing their frivolous ***** on our backs while we work outselves to death in ever worse conditions.
  9. Haha, we used to drive to the Ikea in Heerlen pre-pandemic, because it's a bit closer to me than the one in Köln! So chances are high I drove by your town! I wonder, I don't really know the Aachener dialect, except for "Och herm", lol. But yeah, they're poluar here as well, of course, but I don't really understand them, heh. funfact: I speak the local dialect so little, that my mother and my grandma could effectively talk to each other without me understanding them! My mother once got me totally confused when she told me to get her the Öljelche - which apparently means little onions.
  10. Right? Also, considering I know not a single german who has not a problem to pronounce "th", myself included, it doesn't really suprise me it morphed into a d, haha. I actually live pretty much next to the border to NL, near Aachen, so it's a cats leap to Maastricht! Also, spend a good amount of my holidays sailing on the ijsselmeer and around Leeuwarden. I do understand a little bit of dutch when it's spoken to me, slooowly, haha. I wonder if I could understand it better if I'd understand the local dialect here - I don't speak it, despite living here all my life, but I assume it's coloured by dutch as well. It's similliar to Kölsch, the dialect of cologne.
  11. We have the same one about the soup as well! "Die Suppe wird nicht so heißt gegessen wie sie serviert wird!" Found a site where it says it's from protogermanic trewwo, but that means fidelity/pledge, which seems like a pretty long leap to me - another source I found said from Anglo-Saxon "treb" or Treow" for tree, which makes a bit more sense in my eyes! http://msaf.forest.mtu.edu/ForestInfo/MSUElibrary/Words-Derivation.PDF I found it super faszinating how much german has in common with old english, and dutch- there's a lot of common words - I mean, still is but it was even more. My favorite would be OE - Springan - DE Springen - EN Jumping - what's it in dutch?
  12. Got some more for y'all! "Then Holzweg zuende gehen" - "To walk the wooden path to its end" - About being consequent, even if it's stupid. "Da bist du auf dem Holzweg" - "You're on the wooden path here" - having the wrong idea (I guess wooden paths aren't too popular in germany, haha) "Die Suppe hast du dir selbst eingebrockt" - "You dunked the bread into the soup yourself" - when something is ones own fault You can add "Jetzt musst du sie auch selbst auslöffeln" - "now you have to eat the dish yourself" - Dealing with consequences by oneself "Da wird doch der Hund in der Pfanne verrückt" - "the dog becomes crazy in the pan" - to express surprise/disbelief "Den Wald for lauter Bäumen nicht sehen" - "Not seeing the forest due to the many trees." - Not seing the obvious due to being to focused on a detail
  13. "Im Dreieck springen" - to jump in a triangle (formation) - to flip the f out "Ich glaub' mein Schwein pfeift" - I believe my pig whistles - to express disbelief when someone says/does somethign stupid "Du hast doch Tomaten auf den Augen" - You've got to have tomatoes on your eyes - to tell someone they must be blind to not see the obvious
  14. Hello again! Time to bring some pictures of the top level of our floating isles, the japanese themed watergarden! One of my personal favorites is the little dining area where you can dine on delicious stones, for additional Zen! And while we're at it, we're going to have another party! This time, we're happy to have live musician FrankLee Anatra on board to perform, as well as DJ Lucavi Coutourier! Come enjoy the music with us, while we oogle at some of SL's prettiest pictures taken by Bloggers and Photographers! https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Lucame/46/137/23
  15. Static made actual Mi'qote ears a little while back! https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Static-Miqo-Ears-Megapack/19785234 They also had earrings as a free gift at the event they originally relased those for, maybe they're in the mainstore.
  16. That's basically how I explain my personal superpower; my intuition, to people! I'm no psychic, I don't have eyes on the back of my head, and I don't feel goddamn auras. But I likely have turned a bit and had whom/whatever in my pheriphal vision, and my subconciousness picks it up, and warns me. (I am also very sure that my intuition is strong because due to traumatic events in my childhood, I relied on that. Basically, I had to be able to sort friends and foes pretty quickly, thus my subconciousness learned to read even the faintest of clues. I guess!)
  17. I'll have a hard time eating anything that I'd consider rotten (Like the maggot-cheese or Surströmmling). I'll not eat insects unless they're finely ground, lol. - I've had some pasta that was partially made with ground worms. Tasted like regular pasta - but I'm scared of insects, especially spiders, so that's a nono for me. I won't eat cat or dog, unlike my guy, lol.
  18. Interessting one. So, I do have a full blown narcissist in my family. My grandmother! While she is not diagnosed - and likely never will be, as she sees psychiatrists as people who only want your money (you don't directly pay them yourself here), but is convinced a fortuneteller does not (you have to pay them yourself, of course). The difference between them is, the fortuneteller tells you exactly what you want to hear - the psychiatrist tells you what you don't want to hear, heh - it is pretty obvious that she suffers that particulary personality disorder. (While I am no psychiatrist, I have a natural knack for it, as well as a lot of therapy-time under my belt discussing my family with professionals who all agreed.) The thing is - most people have narcissistc traits. Almost everyone. Some more pronounced than others. Victims of narcissist more so than others, because the narcs behaviour got normalized. Like Mollymews said, normal people are able to surpress them for the most of it. You just think that's how it is. That the family/friend/partner dynamic is supposed to be that way. The more isolated from others you are, the more internalized that becomes. That is something I observed with my mother, who does exhibit pronouned narc behaviour. She herself is not a narcissist, tho - she is victim that became an enabler and flying monkey towards me - basically, she trows me under the bus to safe herself from my grandma's temper tantrums. I can tell you, that was not a fun childhood, lol. So, that leaves me. I do have some pronounced narcissistic traits due to that. It took quite some time to come to see and understand that - but unlike my mother, I actively work against those. funfact: I had an uncle I never got to know. For most of my life, they explained his absent as being caused by his wife who forbade him to have contact with his family. It's more likely that he learned that this family is not how a family is supposed to be like that, and chose to cut contact, as many people who came out of the fog tent to do. They either severely limit the contact based on the narcissists behavour, or cut the ties completely. Also, no, a narcissist will of course not consider themselfes a narc. In their mind, everything makes perfect sense, is fully reasonal, rational and logical. It's super rare for a narc to accept the diagnose and to make an attempt to change themselves due to that. They are right, no matter what, after all. Narcissism tests are utter bollocks for that reason as well. Also, what Marigold said is very true. Narcissist have extremely low self-esteem, despite appearing as super-confident in themselfes. Oh, and yes, I cut ties with my grandmother, and mother as well. There's been people who called me heartless and cold and selfish for it, but they'll never understand how much a single narcissist in your life can harm you. Almost all the mental health problems I struggle with today are directly or indirectly caused by my grandmothers narcissism. Since I've severed the ties to them, I have never felt more free and alive. (having an extremely supportive partner helps a lot as well, heh)
  19. Got my second shot of BionTech (Pfizer) last friday. *Dances a little happy dance*
  20. Yo! It's ya girl Suku with her favorite sim. And I don't just say that because I get paid. I just really like the people behind it, and believe in their endeavour. Time to hijack this thread and shower you with pictures! AND a landmark, lol. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Lucame/46/137/23 We love arts in all forms - we host live singers and photographers - established ones and amateurs alike, Bloggers, DJ's, as well as hosting some great parties! Like one for the Pride Festival on June 26th - where you can win a rental for 2 months - the constest is "Best in Violet" and don't worry, I'm no competition, haha! On the following day we'll open up the second round of showing some of SL's talented people! We got some rentals as well, different price and LI ranges, but reasonably cheap, first week is free, and if you want, we can furnish it for you. I already furnished some of them - Monetary cost stays the same, but the LI used is counted towards the rental. I do also offer adjustments to any decoration I put out. So really it's just as much or little as anyone likes. Heres examples: We also have some really cozy spots to explore, cuddle and hangout! All in all, we got three levels now - the groundlevel, which features our gallery, the farmers and gacha markets (I mean, I gotta get rid of all of mine somehow.), a nice beach, a mystical forest with glamping! In the middle, we got the Sky Islands, a big one, and slightly above it, the Skyplattforms, a steampunk/fantasy area where we host a party for the Pride Festival on June 26th. And on the toplevel, we got our japanese Garden, to sit, eat food (and stones, according to one dining set) Or just take a stroll on the bridges! No picture yet, I'll work on that! We also have an inworld group! secondlife:///app/group/f483140e-7032-b37c-6ea9-a38d0bea5985/about So yeah, come check it out, if you see any of us, feel free to say hi! We're a friendly bunch, we're open to anyone! Also, if we're playing games, don't be shy, join us! I guarantee you, you'll likely win against me in any given game because dice absolutely hate me! (watch out for Luca tho, I think she bribes them!)
  21. You missed the point, tho. You can ignore as many people as you wish, for whatever reason you like, you do not have to justify it at all. If you want to mute someone because their forumsavatar has the wrong color - go for it, it's your right to do so! I'm just puzzled why someone (not you) who seems to have 95% of the forum on ignore (That's a VERY wild guess :P), would chose to come here. It doesn't make sense to me, I find it odd. But that's about it. In the end, it's not my choice, nor do I want it to be.
  22. I mean, if that's what he wants to do, he's free to do so. Ultimately it's him missing out, not anybody else, let alone me. I enjoy conversations with myself! Some people don't want to, or can't, handle those. I can - to a degree - understand if someone says they don't want to be confronted about things all the time. I really just don't get why going to a place where you are guaranteed to get confronted with it. If one justs wants helpfull answers to clever questions, maybe another parts of the forums would be better suited than the one that is on fire 99% of the time.
  23. I don't understand why, though. If this forum is such a bad place for you, that you do mute almost everyone, then why come if there's nothing to read for you but onsided scraps of conversations. That's like going to a restaurant just to sit there. Oo
  24. Actually, that's my biggest peeve about Tea: to me, it smells really awesome, but never tastes the way it smells, which is setting me up for dissapointment. ;_; I do have Earl Grey here - lose leaf from England even, and do like that. With milk and sugar, lol. I'll try it without milk but sugar, and without sugar but milk, and without booth tomorrow. And then I'll try to get my grubby hands on some Assam und try that as well. I mostly tried chamomille, and fruity teas, and peppermint.
