So what changed in the Terms of Service?

Since I brought up Furries:

Why WOULDN'T the new TOS changes apply the same to Tinies and Dinkies? I guess they stay under the radar if "bad things" are happening in their communities.

My on-topic point for the TOS changes is: We focus on human "child avatars". But there are lots of "non-human" avatars that have "children".

Oh gosh, we're on hairstyles now, too? Listen, I would rock pigtails on my fully-grown male adults - dread versions, if I could find them. Knock yourselves out with that one. 😂

My father rocked this look with snow white hair, in solidarity with his adorable little devil, long before Jason was born.

In much the same way that 'The Human Centipede' portrays a bizarre and extreme form of connection, this forum discussion on Linden Lab's Terms of Service update seems to weave together a complex and sometimes disturbing tapestry of opinions and interpretations.

This interconnectedness, while necessary for community discourse, sometimes leads to a monstrous outcome where the original intent of policies can become distorted by extreme views and reactions, much like the transformation seen in the film.

This analogy may seem harsh, but it's definitely valid, and one we should try to distance ourselves from if we want our thoughts and opinions to be taken into account by Linden Lab in any further policy decisions.

Hopefully this posting is on topic and contributes to the ongoing dialogue. The inclusion of a challenging but not explicit adult analogy should hopefully not be seen as a reason for removal regardless of who may AR it.

All the Best
Jackson

Yes (to each of your statements).

What kind of smut are people PUTTING in their profiles?!?

RL nude pics?

Yes, at least to that one kind. There are both individuals and groups with what is commonly referred to as "hardcore porn" images in their publicly visible profiles. I stumble across it quite a bit, and I'm not even looking for it ... any simple sexually based group search term will turn that up easily. And not cartoon or illustration, either. Images.

Yeah, I still use a ponytail on my RL "avatar" (body), but not pigtails. AM NOT GRRL!

the furries are most active on their own regions, it's less public, but also existing, as in nearly any avatar style

Not talking about furries doing furry stuff iin furry regions.

Specifically, NON furry child avatars adding a fury accessory, and claiming that exempts them from sim owners no-child rules and the ***-play sections of the ToS. That's been a thing for years.

Standard excuses are "place pick disclaimer saying 18+", "claiming to be over 5'4 tall", and most popular "I' have paws/tail".

I apologize for singling out "ponytails" out of context.  I probably should have been more specific like, "ponytails AND a 'baby dress' AND kid's shoes", etc.

You possibly meant pigtails rather than pony tails?

Dammit I was way too slow

I got stuck on @Madelaine McMasters  posting pictures of my future husband

Given the commotion their current TOS changes have caused here I don't see LL ever extending them to the furry community, just as I don't really expect them to place any further restrictions on anyone else.

Now, if the TOS changes had been announced and this thread was just a handful of pages with only a few people raising concerns while the rest celebrated and jeered at them then who knows, maybe LL would be thinking "well that was easy, who's next?"

ETA: Just kidding, of course LL would never do that!  I'm sure they love every single one of us and lay awake at night worrying if we'll be there when they log on again in the morning!

Go ahead, just ignore the majority of my response.. as is a tactic of many to skirt around the issue.

Quit playing games. Yes Pigtails are 'traditional', traditional style for children.

Wow, people will really argue this stuff, in some bid to GASLIGHT ('attempt to reframe the reality of a situation')  any viewer of their avatar as being a child.
See how that works out for you and others.

It's really pretty simple. Say a single lady looking for love could be anywhere between 15 and 25.

If she's 15 she'd try to look older so she can sneak into places.

And if she's 25 she'll try to look younger. (In Japan, single women are sometimes called Christmas cakes because "nobody wants them after the 25th [birthday].")

Easy - peasy.

lol. Just saying I'm considered to be a senior now in RL and I still will put my hair up in a ponytail. And sometimes, just for fun, I will braid it and twist it up into a bun just like my granny did.

I'm reassured somewhat. ❤️

Irony: IMHO, the Furry community is MUCH bigger.

TBH, I've never hung out at "child" communities.  But there are lots and lots of Furry clubs, malls, dedicated businesses, etc.  Could be due to multiple species, while "human children" is one species.

Exactly. There isn't a single hairstyle that exists that I wouldn't wear on an adult male avatar. Hair alone proves very little.

I was tempted to post a photo of Snoop rocking braided pigtails, but I didn't want to annoy the mods. 😂 Easily Google-able, though. He's even got the cute little bobble ties on.

Those aren't piggy tails.

You obviously don't know what a pigtail is...

Pigtail...

a lock of hair that has been gathered and banded or braided together at the back or side of the head

—often used in the plural for a hairstyle in which two such locks or braids of hair are worn on either side of the head

Sometimes being "edgy" is really just being a troll.

So is demanding that you have a right to go anywhere and do anything, especially on land other people pay for.

A rated land owners don't want not-kids on their land, but they kept trying to dodge that and claimed they had a "right".

Now LL has said no not-kids on A rated land, and they are whining and want it reversed

LL has said no not-kids near naked adults, and they are whining and trying to dodge that, and want restrictions placed on the adults who weren't impacted by the ToS.

It's ALL about THEIR "rights" to go anywhere they are not wanted, and do anything they are not allowed to do.

It's exactly the same mentality as claiming a "right" to trespass in somebody's home because you plonked your backside in a vehicle.

Somehow, you are a special minority and the majority's ACTUAL rights don't count.

Parcel owner punts you because no-not-children in may land, parcel owner punts you because they don't want strangers in their living room.

Same response "I'm a special minority let me in or else I'll scweem and scweem and scweem".

So I put on headphones, turn the music up and install a zero second orb.

Problem solved.

Why am I not surprised the anti-adult-activities griefer clique and the privacy-hating-home-invader griefer clique overlap.

Like, maybe if they even add "baby-talk". Could be a clue!
