  1. This thought has occurred to me. I would like to think the lindens are above prowling the grid derending children's cloths. Also want to think they would react in just the opposite way if someone filed a AR report after derending a child av and found while the child was wearing cloths and properly alpha there was no modesty patch. Who would you rather have on your grid? A fully dressed and alpha'ed child av just doing her thing, or a pervert roaming around derending children's clothing?
  2. That is actually more reasonable. As more skins and bodies come online or meet the new requirements, I really doubt there will be to much push back on this topic. Let's be honest, how are they going to enforce this? Go around to every child avatar and ask them to remove their pants for modesty inspection?
  3. How long is temporary? A month, six months, two years? By the time that rolls around the one who thought up the policy or is a proponent of it might have been shown the door. I'm optimistic that it will turn out this way. Besides, most of us have figure out how to meet the new requirements even with old bodies.
  4. Completely Incorrect. I have a feeling the lindens were happy to have the bom/alpha option put on the table. That allows them to have a way out of the quagmire they got themselves in to. The are starting to realize this modesty later thing was a mistake and basically unenforceable. What will happen is new content will require it, and as long as properly alpha, they will look the other way.
  5. I walked away from that meeting thinking they were serious about all this no matter how ridiculous was or unenforceable it is.
  6. Wow. 🤔 The Lindens really didn't think this through.
  7. One Halloween we set up a zombie hunt in a moderate sim. There was violence but it was more of a cartoon violence. We went into battle with the prim zombies. I was in the Combat Tots battle group.
  8. I thought he was awesome. It's kind of sad when the kids have to be the adults in the room.
  9. I didn't walk away with much hope for this process but I did manage to snag me two of those bears.
  10. The local schools around me banned those for elementary and middle school. In world I wear a heart shaped belly perching. If anyone asked I just said it was a stick on like the local kids were wearing.
  11. My account is almost 11 years old so I'm trying to pass for a 11 year old in world. I'm aging up my avatar with each year, yes she is growing up in world. In flats or sneakers I look between 11 and 12, depending on what hair I'm using. Depending on what hair I have on I can look between 8 and 12. I have a pair of boots that if I put on people think I'm 19 or older simply because I'm taller.
  12. Modesty panels for everyone! Get out the blow torches boys, were back in business! While we are at it, we should also ban all size avatars from adult lands. It's the only way to be safe. Yes, the above post is nothing but a joke, and is clearly intended as a joke. If you do not think it's funny, you can probably buy a sense of humor on the marketplace.
  13. There 'best judgement" might not be good enough. There are all kinds of, admittedly kinky reasons, a adult avatar could be dressed as school girl, complete with trapper keeper and backpack. In RL when I was 12 my chest was flat, my best friends was, considerably larger. In the right outfit she could have been mistaken for a short adult. She was 12 too.
  14. I'm the complete opposite. I tried to run a boy for a while, and I just couldn't do it. While I can change cloths at the drop of the hat; one person said I was the only person who could start a teleport wearing one outfit and arrive wearing a different one. Changing my avatar is different. Buying and wearing a new hair takes me 3 days of nail biting.
  15. They are not hideous. Not like I was expecting. The top one breaks a few swimsuits of mine but not the main one. I'm sure with time creators will come out with better ones.
  16. I'm not sure this would be possible. Modestly layers can't be removed.
  17. Thank you for that. I will admit I've not kept up with the trans community; until a few days ago I didn't even know there was a trans kid's community in SL. They come to me and was hurting. That is what mattered to me.
  18. I like how some of you are just blowing this off like it's not a big deal. I can most certainly guarantee you that this is a big deal to some people. The person that came to me never had a chance to express their selves. They said they were in tears because this is the happiest they have ever been. Now they have no certainty what they are going to do. They said it was like they are lost all over. There will not be a simple answer to this one.
  19. I'm not going to tell them to use their best judgement. I'm not going to handwave away this issue.
  20. The question is concerning the top layer specifically. If they are identifying at a boy one day, and a girl the next, do they need to wear the top layer all the time. I don't know what to tell them. My best response right now is to wear both layers no matter what but then that will affect the identity they are assuming. And I have the feeling what I tell them will affect the whole community in world. So, yeah.
  21. Now that we have the modesty patch examples from the Lab. I was just approached with a question about it. What will be the Lab's policy on transgender issue and how the modesty patches are applied?
  22. If you say so. I don't mind taking a karma hit for a giggle every now and then. 😇
  23. I'm going to be there. Several of us from the cute little AV community are going to come.
