Back in August of 2020, due to the USA presidential election, there was a policy change for Mainland. Content may not be political in nature. It became subject to AR reporting. I am seeing more and more political content on mainland for this 2024 USA presidential election. Don't be surprised if you get AR'ed for it if you are one of the ones placing such signs on Mainland. Mobile Client Features - Present and Absent (so far)
Indy Melody replied to Love Zhaoying's topic in Mobile
Is there a way to close group chats? Being Premium Plus, I have a large number of groups I am in but I don't always need to see full chats. Especially when it's a griefer that is targeting a group. Also, will inventory be accessible? My hope for mobile was to be able to just hang out on my region and try on outfits, keep or delete items and just do inventory cleanup when something happens in RL that takes me away from my home computer for days. -

I ran across this item and it works pretty well. the upper edge is alpha textured making it look like it blends in perfectly with a flat prim. Elevation Cliff Version 1.21 by Lukrafts creator lukas.lancrae

So what changed in the Terms of Service?

lol. Just saying I'm considered to be a senior now in RL and I still will put my hair up in a ponytail. And sometimes, just for fun, I will braid it and twist it up into a bun just like my granny did. -

Another random thought I just had is maybe LL is making these changes to better be able to meet requirements for the soon to be available mobile ap. I've seen where children under the age of six that can operate mommy's cell phone better than I can. -

Part of my reason for suggesting the replacing that would be that if someone has been away from SL for many years as a child avatar and decides to return, they might not be fully aware of this new change and would log in and find old child avatar is gone but they have one they can use. -

Not really, I am sure they already have computer coding that can search all inventory in the inventory data base that can search for a UUID code of a specific item. All they would have to do is add a code that if UUID item is found then replace that item with new UUID code item -

Early in this thread, someone mentioned they had a child avatar created by someone that is no longer active in SL. People have also been concerned about LL removing such items from their inventory. What if LL created a child avatar that meets their new requirements and then when they remove a non-conforming child avatar from users inventory, they replace it with their own LL created child conforming avatar? -

I can't find the revelant documents now, but there are a handful violations other than CP that are automatic ban situations. Selling Lindens outside the LindenX is one I believe. -

I believe you were the one that said "just give me my inventory". So how is that a wrong thread for discussion? -

Did you not notice in the TOS, it's not your inventory. Even if you create something in SL, it's not yours really. It clearly states it's LL's. -

Thanks Brodiac90, but that is not the one I am referring to. Seems like they made some changes to the Snapshot and machinima also that I clicked on to read. So addition new restrictions on taking snapshots and machinima in SL. -

I keep trying to find it but not having any luck. Maybe it was on the screen of the TOS I read through and then clicked Accept to be able to continue using SL. But wasn't there a listing of about 5 or 6 other things shown as being changed? For some reason, the policy on Snapshot and Machinima policy comes to mind as being one along with the new Child AP policy. Any one else recall the other changes? -

Thanks Alwin. It's been a very long time since I had an estate so I can't recall exactly from that one time I did change it from Moderate to Adult. If someone has an Estate and wish to test it out, please let us know. -

In regards to a region suddenly changing it's Maturity Rating, that is only possible on Estate Regions and by those that have Estate Manager rights. And if I recall correctly, would require a region restart for the change to go into effect. And we all know from the weekly region restarts, you have to leave or be logged out. So if you are a child and have to leave for a restart AND your preferences are set to not go to Adult regions, when you attempt to return to that region, you would not get there. Mainland moderate or general regions will never be changed by the Lindens. So you will always know where mainland stands. -

I keep wondering why I keep watching this thread. I believe I figured it out. I am waiting to see when the Powers-That-Be decides that enough is enough and it keeps veering off the topic of "So what changed in the Terms of Service." -

In regards to getting a letter regarding being AR'ed. I had an alt that apparently a parcel neighbor didnt' like the tall rock wall around the parcel and bits of it crossed the jagged areas near the LL roadway. I did get the letter. Alt also got a 3 day suspension. I own General rated land mostly. It is near a newbie friendly location. It's died down now some I suspect due to the new changes set up to educate newbies. I can't tell you how many times I have had to AR and ban from my parcels the nude with gentials showing from them. They would hang out under the water and prey on the newbies. I'm pretty sure the majority of those that I ar'ed did get banned from SL because most never returned. The main one that did, was coming back with different alts. All of which never came back. So yeah, on a General rated region, nudity should be ar'ed. On moderate rated land, in the Child Avatar FAQ which has to do with shopping and such on moderate regions it clearly states: It may be best to create an outfit with a non-human or non-child human persona to run errands such as shopping, such as any of the default Second Life avatars, robots, et cetera. If people start ar'ing naked avatars that are on Moderate regions, those people are at risk of filing unnecessary ar's and too many of such can cause them to be the target of a letter and possible suspension. For those worried about being tp'ed to Adult regions, if they are a child avatar, just set you preferences to General,Moderate only. You will not then be accidentally tp'ed into an Adult region. -

Because a posting I made back on page 139, I will re-post part of it here because it is being partially reposted and not fulling showing what I said. "For me, I have always thought of anyone under the age of 12 and younger is a child. I have always thought of anyone between the ages of 13-19, I considered a teen (teen is part of the number as fifteen). In SL, because anyone 18 and up is considered an adult, then in SL, I consider anyone presenting themselves as an avatar 12 and under in age is a child and anyone presenting themselves as a teen is between the age of 13-17." -

One thing I would like LL to address in regards to the General regions are the numerous parcel owners that think that setting there General rated parcel to Group only and putting the clearly titleds Adult sex/BDSM bed inside their home. Setting such General parcels to group only and having such objects there is against the TOS. -

OMG! The trama and PTSD you caused me posting that. I grew up with a girl next door that stood on her front porch with me there and did that and cracked her forehead open. Blood every where! She had to be taken to the hospital. Not long after the family moved. I just realized, no wonder I never had any childhood friends. lol
