Great synopsis!

I often disagree with Zal, but sometimes she totally nails it.

Sometimes I've even mockingly laughed at Zal. I've been mockingly laughed at right back, too.

A certain amount of DILLIGAF energy is required in order to have a pleasant and cheerful forum experience. But then, the same goes for a trip to the corner store.

Fortunately, every time we go ACK! at something on the forums, it's an opportunity to gain more DILLIGAF energy. It only makes us stronger.

Embrace it, and you will eventually have nothing to ACK! at.

I generally don't leave a like or anything, if it's something I don't agree with.

I believe it was suggested a while back that the inappropriate use of the laughing emijo be reportable as harassment. I’m pretty sure the person making the suggestion was laughed it 😂

One could also add posting laughable garbage, then whining when the laughable garbage gets laughed at, then demanding to know what's laughable about the laughable garbage, when that has already been made abundantly clear earlier in the thread.

Breaking News: People who post laughable ideas complain their laughable idea get laughed at, and demand laughing be banned.

Pictures at 11.

You're aware that every time you click one of those buttons it  creates a notification right? So when you go through and do it 5, 6, 10 times it is like harassing me in a way?

"Laughably bad idea" spammer adds 6 posts outlining their laughably bad idea, and rehashing their laughable reasons for why LL MUST DO THIS NOW!

Somebody logs in, reads 6 posts by the "Laughably bad idea" spammer, and hits the "well deserved sarcastic mocking laughter" reaction button on each one as they read them.

THIS IS NOT HARAASSMENT.

Somebody logs in, notices you laughed at ONE of their laughable bad ideas, and uses your profile activity page to hunt down and laugh at your last 30 posts in 12 different threads.

THAT is harassment.

I don't think it's that farfetched to have several different people read a post and come to the same conclusion without them getting together in council chambers to first discuss how they should all react first.

It's okay for more than one person to disagree with the need to hide account age, just like it's okay for more than 1 person to like chocolate cake.

If you want the feature, ask for it in a feature request instead of starting a discussion thread and then being angry that not everyone agrees with the need for it.

It's a discussion forum for SL topics not an echo chamber for a person's ideas that can't be questioned.

It is ok but it rarely happens. It mostly depends on who brings it up. If a particular forumite brings up the topic in favour of it, several of the ones currently not in favour of blanking the feature out, would change their tune or responses at least and be in favour of blanking it out.

The main participants here, vote for or against the OP,  not the topic itself.

Nobody said they couldn't be disagreed with or questioned,  but when you outright act maliciously,  you're gonna get it back. ( not you specifically)

Damn. Now I don't have anything to talk about.

We can talk about which places gives senior discounts or where to find the best deals on cruise packages. :D

I have them turned off. They've been turned off for more than 2 years and I still get notices for reactions. It doesn't bother me. I'm just saying it doesn't always work.

I'll take the senior discounts but you can have the cruises, except the river cruises, I wouldn't mind taking a cruise down the MS or Columbia through the Gorge.

I typoed discounts and sat here for 5 minutes debating whether or not to change it but someone would take offense at the o being left out and report me for it. 🤭

Yea I agree, whats the big deal? When you first bring up the forums the little bell icon shows how many notifications you have.. omg i'm being harassed 20 people laughed at my posts. click it, close it, forget about it. 😁

What? You don't tell everyone you're 21 again when your b-day hits? I thought everyone did that. And here I thought I was the only one who didn't.

I just tell people, "yeeeeah... I'm old."

10 years ago, when I turned 29, (I post my age on my profile) i thought great, everyone will think I'm really just 29 and holding. Now 10 years later, i'm turning 39 and people will think the same thing  😂

Seriously, so someone went back and laughed at 30 posts in "revenge". It takes them far longer for them to do it than for you to bring up the notification bell and close it again. I dunno, but I don't scroll back through all my posts to see who laughed and who liked them.

That really isn't harassment, that's just a sore loser being a jerk. 😁

Not only is this nonsense, Arielle, but it's pretty insulting nonsense.

You are suggesting, apparently, that people here are not capable of independent thought, or favour particular opinions because someone they like has expressed them?

Give me a break. We're not a clutch of cliquish high school girls here, clamouring to be part of the "popular group." I know of no one here who doesn't express a particular opinion because it seems a reasonable opinion to them.

What's more, this is a wonderfully handy way to explain away why people dismiss or disagree with poorly considered ideas. God forbid that we give people here credit for recognizing bad ideas: it must be, of course, because of personal "alliances" within the forum.

This is something I really really do try to avoid. I'll look at something a person posts as a topic starter, and try to see where I might have experience that could inform an opinion, first, either directly or indirectly. Then I try to think of how nicest to say what my opinion is, without making it look like I'm taking a side in some issue. I often agree and disagree with different parts of a person's views, and so I'd be kind of a jerk to just make it some polar on/off kind of thing, like a stick with only two ends.

Oh, right, you meant normal people.

*sneaks away*

Damn it Scylla, you are challenging the very foundation of the Tin-Foil-Hat Club.

The essential Truth that ONLY the tin-foil-hat wearer knows the Truth is out there, and has searched for it, and that ALL dissent is the result of the indoctrinated Sheeple, engaging in Group Think as part of the Hive Mind, caused by fluoride in the drinking water, Bill Gates, and Socialist Tax Funded Health Care.

Report immediately to your nearest Top Secret Space Lizard Government Indoctrination Centre, for re-implantation of Sheeple Group Think Hive Mind Nanobots.
